Looks just likes the photos. Very sturdy! I just spent the last couple of days at the beach and there were a few windy days. Everyone else’s umbrellas were flying away or turning inside out and this umbrella stayed right. Assembly is easy, love that it comes with its own screw into the sand. This is a beautiful umbrella and functions exactly as I would want. Adjustable height, easily tilts to an angle, throws plenty of shade for a couple people. It sets up and takes down quickly and is lightweight to carry. I’ve had it out in wind 12 mph and it didn’t budge. I also bought the tray table and hooks which make it even more useful. Since the tray table has its own fastener, you can put that at any height you want too. Since this is my first beach umbrella I have nothing to compare to, but it is a little hard to screw it into the sand. I really put my weight into it and I can hear it grinding into the rocky sand and have never gotten it more that halfway to the mark they say. Makes me wonder how long that plastic cork screw will last before getting ground down or broken. But that’s the only negative I can come up with and since mine is new, there’s certainly nothing wrong with it yet.

I have used this umbrella 3 or 4 times now at the beach, on decently windy days, and it has not overturned on me once. It has kept its structure each time. I love how big it is. I love that the base is screwed in pretty deep and very easy to use and gives it a very sturdy base so it doesn't fly off. The tilting function is great to adjust to the angle of the sun and direction of wind. I don't know if we are not screwing it in tight enough, and I'm sure this will happen to most tilting umbrellas anyway, but sometimes the umbrella will slightly rotate in the direction that the wind is blowing it no matter how tight I try to secure the pole in. This isn't that big of a deal, it doesn't rotate much. I will say: this umbrella is NOT 100% UV protective. We went on a particularly sunny and hot day and stayed under the umbrella 90% of the time and we still got tan and slightly sunburned while napping in the shade. Make sure you are still applying sunscreen!

I had a very old beach umbrella that I used to bungee cord to my pool deck. The edges were starting to fray, and there were some holes in the canopy. Many of the other beach umbrellas that I've seen have the more narrow post, probably because it's easier to cart down to the beach. I like this one because it has the thicker post, which should make it more sturdy on my pool deck. We get a lot of wind, so I do not keep it open all the time. I will not be using it until next season, but I am very happy with the color and the design.

I bought two of these umbrellas for the beach. They work great, even on windy days because of the stout, bottom component that you screw into the sand with an easy to use lever. (Just be sure to screw that bottom segment all the way into the sand if it is windy!) All components work well. I like that the top part can be angled. And, they come in several different colors/patterns. I highly recommend.

The media could not be loaded. After one of our two old beach umbrellas finally rusted into oblivion, I researched online, read reviews (including here) and settled on this 7ft AmSun Beach Umbrella for its reasonable size, sand anchor and carrying sleeve. Size: I’m 5’4” and the packed umbrella comes up to my armpit (photo), it’s not awkwardly long when I put it over my shoulder. Parts: Top umbrella with tilt, bottom pole, sand auger and anchor. The anchor is beefy, even if it is PVC (photo). Assembling is easy (photo), and the bottom pole can be extended if needed (photo). I’ve read some complaints of a poorly fixed tear in the fabric prior to use. The only thing I saw were the stitches for the Velcro-tipped strap which keeps the umbrella folded when packing. The strap is sewn to the exterior, and you can see the stitches underneath (photo). At the beach, we still took our garden trowel to dig the initial hole – we dig deep to secure our umbrellas, and found the packed damp sand underneath the surface to be resistant to the auger. We opted to trowel rather than risk breaking something. Tightening the nut to secure the top part of the umbrella felt good and snug without forcing it. Video shows our set up with the umbrella titled towards a stiff and continuous beach wind. It didn’t even come close to being picked up or blown away. Gave enough shade for The Man, more than our old rusted one, more than the second old umbrella which we also set up. My only wish would be for the pole to be a heftier quality – the reason I didn’t give the sturdiness 5 stars. It seems it will hold up, but time will tell if the pole buckles in a stronger wind. So far we’re very pleased! When our second old umbrella needs replacing, I’ll probably get a second one. I’d recommend this umbrella.
