We have a huge deck that bakes in the sun all day, so we could never actually use it. I saw that the huuuge 10x20’ shade was only $55, so I decided to give it a try even though it sounded too good to be true. My dad, an engineer, was visiting us for the weekend so I had him put it up. I bought a kit with anchors and turnbuckles from Amazon, but in hindsight a hardware store has much better quality stuff. It works for the job though. On the house side, my dad attached permanent anchors and simply attached the shade with stainless steel carabiners so that my husband will be able to easily remove it come winter. We mounted 8 foot 4x4” posts to the far corners of our deck wider than the shade and made steel cables for those two corners. The tension created with the combination of cables and turnbuckles pulled the shade nice and tight. There is no sag and the sail seems sturdy and durable. There is a gap between the shade and the house, so wind doesn’t get caught and try to blow the shade away. We mounted the two corners on the house side at 10’ and the two far corners at 8’ so that water can run off rather than pool in the middle. It’s high enough that you can’t even see the shade from inside the house, but it still shades the deck! We use a leaf blower from below to blow off any leaves or tree debris. For our west-facing deck, it gives us several extra hours of shade and allows us to actually spend time out there, especially we have a toddler that can’t take the sun. We love our little oasis now!

We used this over our sugar snap peas, as they were just starting to flower! Then we got weeks of 90+ and a week in the 100's! Way too soon and way too hot for the pacific NW! But with water and the barrier against the burning sun, we were able to save our whole patch of peas and enjoy them, when everyone eases burned up! Not to mention it kept our house cooler too! These are great! Love them, and will order one to fit our new deck as sitting in direct sun is just too much up here!

Quality is good. As advertised. First time I ordered it never arrived but was refunded and reordered. Shade is exceptional, water resistance is adequate. It droops in dew and then springs back well (so far) hopefully it lasts as I havent had it for long enough to know if it will last, but just based on feel and looks of material it is higher quality than some others I've tried.
