  • Gordon Ramsay would use this pan!!!! A +++ Gordon Ramsay would use this pan!!!! A +++
Size: 12 inch
Amazon, you did it again! I highly recommend this pan!! If I could give it 10 stars I would. So, I reluctantly tried this Amazon Basics brand pan knowing how important it is to get a good professional stainless steel pan. I was getting ready to pay over $100 for a pan but thought, well I’ll try Amazon’s pan. And I’m so glad I did! I compiled the video and photos of using this pan this entire last week. I wanted to use it over and over again and get a good feel for it before giving my review. This pan is a heavy (not too heavy), solid A+ high class pan! No need to spend over $100 on a good pan when this one will do just fine. In fact, this is a good pan l. Thank you Amazon. If you are new to using a stainless steel pan, it’s important to note the differences between a stainless steel pan and that of a nonstick pan. I decided to switch because I’ve been hearing so many bad things even about the best of nonstick pans I try to live healthy. It was important that I went back to the stainless steel pan even though honestly it is just a bit more of a hassle to take care of the pan. But in the scheme of things, three more minutes of taking the time to properly clean, your pan is completely worth the benefits, especially health benefits. And of course, there are many other benefits of owning a stainless steel pan. This pan does not come with a lid. But I do use a lid from other pots and pans I have so that works. Please keep in mind the following things that are important to note in using and caring for your pan. I personally suggest you watch some YouTube videos on the subject. But hopefully I can share a few things with you to get you started if you’re new to stainless steel pans. 1. It’s important to always cook your food on the lowest heat. With a nonstick pan you can start your heat at five or six or even go up to 10 on the heat and be fine with cooking your food but with a stainless steel pan you must cook your things on extreme low heat. The metal conducts the heat at a higher level than another pan.. So I never ever, ever! Put my pan higher than medium low (or about a number 4). 2. This part is really important… You need to turn your pan on low like number one or two and let it sit and heat up for 2 minutes BEFORE adding any kind of oil or butter to your pan. This part is extremely important because this part is what’s going to cause your pan to become nonstick as a stainless steel pan. Heating your pan up first allows the metal to expand and causes a more flat surface where if you add your oil and then heat up your pan, the oil gets trapped into the very microscopic parts / pores of your pan. It’s hard to explain so I suggest you watching a video on it. But this part is so important probably the most important thing that you should know to heat your pan up for at least two minutes before adding your oil or butter. By the way, I don’t usually ever use butter in cooking food. I use eitherbacon grease, duck fat, chicken, fat, coconut oil, peanut oil, or olive oil. 3. When you’re finished cooking with your pan, take an empty jar and pour the cooking oil residue in it. Place your pan on a towel, wipe your pan out if you’re able to with a few paper towels to pick up the excess debris, and then pour hot water in your pan. Perhaps a couple of cups of hot water. Just cover the surface. Let’s sit for one minute. And Walla, you just take a spatula and every bit of it comes up. I pour this greasy water into the jar as well because I don’t wanna put anything greasy down my sink. I save all the jars that I buy from the store and wash them out for this very purpose. 4. You can wash your pan with a scrub brush and some hot soapy water, but I first use a little bit of powder scrub (my favorite brand I highly recommend is Bar Keepers Friend). I noticed if I don’t use the powder scrub on my pan it will look clean at first, but then it will have cloudy spots on it when it dries. This eliminates the cloudy spots and makes your pan look absolutely brand new! ... show more

  • A bit heavy but cooks like a pro
Size: 12 inch
I was surprised at how heavy the pan is, but it heats very evenly, deglazes beautifully and with proper care it cooks down cleanly. For everyone who complains about "sticking" or burning... It's a stainless pan and you must use a fat while cooking and it's not burn as much as fond. You must deglazes your pan. If properly deglazed it creates amazing flavor and comes nearly completely clean. It goes from stove top to oven with no trouble!! I got my pan as a "second life" so I got a discount due to it not being in the original box. I love Amazon's like new options. The pan came perfect and cooks beautifully at a nicely reduced price!! I highly recommend this pan to semi experienced cooks or new to stainless that take time to watch a few videos so you understand how to properly deglaze. Yet you can be a really good home chef and happy with this pan. It's large and works well for stove to oven foods. Only true downside is that it is a nice big pan and it makes it heavy. I happen to be a small woman so I can't flip my food LOL. No great loss for the price and more a me issue. ... show more

  • Good
Size: 12 inch
Feels and looks durable and good quality. Handle is easy to use. Flatness is poor, the pan does warp a bit out of shape when cooking on an induction glass top. Heat level is good as expected from steel pan. Still preferred and safer than non-stick coated pans.

  • Great pan for a good price
Size: 12 inch
It's a good pan for a great price. Been using it for a year with no issues. It doesn't stick if you treat it right.

  • Fantastic stainless pan for any kitchen.
Size: 12 inch
This pan is an absolute joy to cook with. I have non-stick aluminum, cold steel, cast iron and stainless cookware in a variety of flavors, but I was still in need of a good 12" stainless pan. I am so glad I found this one. My existing SS pans are good for induction, but very bad for gas. This pan heats very evenly, the handle provides a very positive grip with no heat transfer issues, the straighter sides still flip the food well and my residential stove can generate enough heat to actually keep that searing temperature where it needs to be when cooking things like mushrooms, brussles, or when making proteins or sauces. I did not think a $30 pan could be this good. I would dare say that I like using this pan just as much as my deBuyer 10" steel pan. Maybe even more since cleanup takes less work and this pan holds more. Buy this pan. You will LOVE it! ... show more

  • Great pan, easy to clean
I am still learning how to properly cook with stainless steel. Trying to get away from toxic non-stick surfaces so I gave this a shot. At first, my eggs stuck easily. I looked up on YouTube how to properly use Stainless and found videos about the "Mercury test" which is using a drop of water that rolls around like a bead of mercury once the pan is at the right temperature. I'm still getting the hang of that and heating my pans at lower heat than I was used to. I gave up trying to "cure" my pan because it didn't seem to last. Reducing the heat is more effective. Also, flaxseed oil that was recommended made my house smell like fish. It was awful! So, this is a quality pan as compared to my Avacraft I got for Christmas. I'm sticking to Avacraft in the future just because I want to support USA based businesses and their pans are quality and affordable. But this Amazon pan made in China was a great affordable introduction that seems to be of high quality. It's easy to clean if I hear up some water in it, then wipe it out with a sponge followed by a paper towel for remaining oil and grease. ... show more

  • Uneven bottom surface
Size: 12 inch
The pan is not even, so it tilts upward on the handle side and does not sit flush on the stove. This is a problem for cooking literally anything that requires an even surface or even heat distribution. Otherwise it would be a great pan- cleans fairly well and is heavy and durable.

  • Too heavy to pour over a plate. Permanent stained after 1st use
Size: 12 inch
This may be a great pot, but it is too heavy. I wish I never cooked in it. Now I'm afraid I won't get my money back. But ouch so heavy to plate over with 1 hand. I do suffer from carpal tunnels so if you have, you may want to steer clear from this one. The food I cooked on it was very good
