While some have been disappointed that the interior is bare cast iron, this is exactly what I was looking for. Got a new glass top stove, so all of my old cast iron was a no-go as I needed enameled to protect my cooktop. My cooktop is now protected, and I get the same “raw” cast iron cooking surface that I’ve been missing for getting a good sear on steaks, scallops, etc. For all of the negative comments about things sticking…this is cast iron that needs to be seasoned (do a Google search). It is rough out of the box and needs some TLC before it’ll become one of your go-to pans. A LOT of seasoning as mine was close to bare. Season it and use it every time that you cook something fat-laden (bacon, sausage, ground beef, etc.) and it will eventually become non-stick. Patience as this pan will last a long time and become one of your favorites. **UPDATE** I assumed that this pan was somewhat seasoned, and I was wrong (or I got a bad one). Despite my casual seasoning with canola oil, after only one use, the interior stained and rusted. Not giving up on this pan, though. Returned for a replacement and will go to a lengthy seasoning process as I would with an unseasoned pan.

I am not an iron cast cooking pro so I didn’t estimate how big it is before buying, but I am amazed at the 10 inches size as it arrived. The seasoning was adequate and was easy to clean after sizzling steaks on it and a few things. The hand guide was also good for a newbie, warning not to cook acidic food like tomatoes or citrus etc, which I will be careful with. Now I can taste the juicy steaks at home without freezing outside next to the grill to cook them. I suggest getting a splash screen while laying down the steaks.

I picked this up at a great price. I didn't need it but couldn't pass it up. It may not be as nice as the $100 brands but it is solid for normal everyday use as long as you are not trying to impress others with brand names! I say if you need/want one don't hesitate to pick one up.

The pan cooks evenly and it holds a 'seasoning' very well! It's been awhile since I've owned cast-iron cookware, but this really makes me look longingly at other pieces to 'upgrade' my stovetop set!

These were beyond my expectations. I have all cast iron and cast iron with ceramic coating. These give the feel and qualities of an all cast iron but are nice to look at as well and a bit easier to clean. Very heavy. Very nice piece of kitchen equipment. Can't say enough. After purchasing the first one, I got several more.

Like with any cast iron pan, you should ALWAYS season your pan first. I'm a chef so this is a no-brainer for us, but most home cooks think that "pre-seasoned" means non-stick, that's not always the case. I'd say its best to season your pan before its first use, right on the stove top works fine. Have a dry kitchen towel you don't mind getting dirty at the ready, some flax seed oil, peanut oil or any high heating oil. Crank the heat on your stovetop as high as it will go, place a few drops of oil in the pan, and make circular motions with the kitchen towel driving the oil into the iron. Repeat this step many times making sure you are seeing the oil "dry" in the pan as you go. Your kitchen will get VERY smokey, so have a window open and your exhaust on high. This step is tedious but worth it, helps to create that "non-stick" everyone craves or is used to having from a well seasoned pan. Overall this cast iron is an absolute Bang for the Buck, stands right up next to my Staub and LeCreuset pans!
