Wonderful pencils! Very opaque and smudgy. Blending is very easy while drawing, and you can set it with a sealer spray when you're done with it. The colors are absolutely gorgeous. I most often use Prisma pencils or soft pastels for the backgrounds in my adult coloring books. My favorites are the mini, 48 stick set of Faber-Castell Soft Pastels, applied with a cosmetic cotton pad, great for large areas. These pencils are really useful for small backgrounds and for getting into those complicated, tiny detailed areas. They are also fabulously convenient in my "travel" coloring kit. I believe they are well worth the price. My wife is the artist and recently saw another artists work on a velour paper, these pencils work on that paper as though they had been designed that way.
