I recently cancelled my satellite subscription that I had for about two decades because it’s become really pricey. And my bedroom tv is a plasma which is outdated. At first one of the fire sticks was not working properly, (some You tube channels were buffering) but a quick reset fixed it up and it is working as it should. I loved the “old” ones, but things always change for better, isn’t it? Anyway, I am happy with it now. Big thanks to the people in charge who called me as soon as they saw my review, and now are taking care of my services. You are awesome, gentle, professional and understanding people!!

Works well. My dumb TV did not have a usb port to power the Fire Stick. I used a spare cell phone power block, with a usb port, to provide the power. My Fire Stick package did not come with instructions. I watched YouTube videos on how to set it up. Setup was easy, just follow the instructions on the TV. It helps if you already have an Amazon account.

Was excited to try this new fire stick. The interface is totally redone and even more impressive, the apps are updated with new UI. Everything seemed faster till I installed Plex which is mostly what we use. The new interface is interesting, not sure it’s better but I’d try it. Problem is live TV does not work at all which is a deal breaker. Tried to get support but the site is not up, weird. Anyway, back it goes. FYI, Plex works fine on my older fire stick.

Power cord is not even 6 inches long. I needed a longer one to reach an outlet. Company was excellent contacting me about my review and provided assistance getting longer power cord. Signal boaster is not included which was fine since I had an old one. It works well. Great customer support.

I can see why people have been complaining about the lack of updates for existing units and being forced to upgrade. I too was forced to upgrade because my secondary fire stick wouldn't take an update anymore and then got stuck on the start up screen, even though it is only a couple of years old. I do not like the new setup for a couple of reasons - there's bloatware that you cannot delete (i.e. Amazon kids, News, Sports) and setup to my projector was difficult because you cannot bypass the TV setup screen. I do like the newer more streamlined look and being able to power it through the onboard USB port, so there's that. So while I am frustrated by having to spend more money, I at least appreciate that the unit was on sale and I get a credit for sending in my old one; so over all it didn't cost too much to upgrade.

This newest latest FireTV Stick HD with the Vega OS works as expected - except NO CNN APP. There is the nice new homescreen with the new forever row of your tv apps that keeps scrolling sideways & going & going & going - without forcing you to go to a separate page of all your apps. BUT still NO CNN APP is available for the Vega version of FireTV. So if you have a paid subscription for the CNN APP, well, the vega version of firetv is currently NOT for you. Also note that this new firetv's included USB-C to USB-A cable is like only a foot long. So if you do not have an available USB-A port on your tv, then you will need to use your own longer 3-foot USB cable to plug into a power adapter for electricity to power your new firetv. BUT if you do actually indeed have an available USB port on your tv, then the included 1-foot usb cable will be enough to have your tv directly power your new firetv stick. Very Nice. Very compatible to easily install on our tv - do not need any hdmi adapter/extension cable - just plug directly into the tv's hdmi port. This firetv already had my amazon registration - but still had to download all my regular tv apps & login into all those services. After doing all that, then I have my firetv working the way it should with excellent streaming quality - except NO CNN APP. Thanks anyways Amazon LOL!
