I set my preferred grind, strength, and brew time once (well, twice, if you count my weekend drinks, which brew an hour later), and by the time I'm in the kitchen every morning, 9.6oz of fresh, strong drip is waiting. No fumbling with settings half-awake. No waiting. Just coffee, exactly the way I like it, on a schedule that fits my life. The app itself is clean and easy to navigate. I can adjust my brew preferences remotely, which sounds like a small thing until you realize you've changed your morning routine and don't have to reprogram anything manually at the machine. My wife and I have different preferences, and managing that through the app is seamless. No compromise cups at our house! I’ve owned a lot of coffee gear over the years. Manual espresso machines. High-end grinders. Pod machines for convenience. Drip setups for busy mornings. The Terra Kaffe TK-02 is the first machine that actually replaced all of it without feeling like a compromise. First, the coffee quality. This thing pulls real espresso. Not “good for a superautomatic” espresso. Real crema, balanced extraction, full body. The grind consistency is excellent and the ability to adjust strength, volume, temperature, and shot profiles actually makes a difference. I’ve dialed in lighter roasts and darker blends without fighting the machine. It doesn’t just spit out coffee. It gives you control. The milk system is where it really stands out. The texture is smooth and glossy, not airy and bubbly like most automatics. Lattes come out with that silky finish you expect from a café. Cappuccinos have real structure. And the fact that it handles milk automatically without a complicated wand routine makes it something I’ll actually use daily, not just on weekends when I have time. The interface is fast and modern. The touchscreen feels like it belongs in 2026, not 2012. Custom drink profiles are simple to create and save. Everyone in my house has their own preset, and it takes seconds to switch between them. The app connectivity is clean and actually useful. It’s not a gimmick. Being able to tweak settings, track usage, and reorder coffee from the same ecosystem makes it feel like a smart appliance instead of just a coffee machine. Build quality is premium. Was really looking forward to this unit based on reviews and videos. Followed all instructions, brewed the first two espressos which are described as calibration of the grinder and water. Third espresso shot was perfect. Made two lattes, very good. Received error message on screen that drip tray was full. Pulled it out and it was bone dry. Noticed "float" in rear corner of drip tray and made sure it was not stuck or failing to otherwise function-- it was working like it should have. Power cycled the unit several times and the only thing from that point forward was the error message to empty the drip tray. Even with drip tray out of the machine, gave the same error message. Stuff happens, I understand that. On to next level of the experience-- customer service and tech support. No published phone number-- email only or send a message through their website-- not good. Surprisingly, received acknowledgement of my email within an hour, but heard nothing further and received no support that day. Next day, an email asked me to again describe the problem and send a photo of the error message. Did that and heard nothing further that day. Next day, I was asked to power cycle and unplug unit for five minutes-- I had already power cycled numerous times but had not unplugged the unit. Followed instructions and no change. Left the unit unplugged overnight to see if that helped-- nope. Customer service was essentially limited to sending me one email a day even though I would respond in the morning and ask for more help. Emails from customer service did include a phone number but I was only able to leave voice mail, twice, and to this day, no one has returned my calls. Couldn't believe I was the first person that had this problem and that they didn't recognize the issue or have a solution-- they did not offer to exchange the unit at any point in time which most other vendors do to keep a customer happy, especially when spending this much money. Next day was asked to send a video of the problem. Made no sense since the only thing that was happening was power on, wait two minutes and error message appears. Neither the app nor touch screen allowed any other functionality to clear the message, "reboot" the machine, revert to factory settings, etc. Complied with making the video but their website was limited to uploading 100 mb video file. Mine was 600 mb and I could not condense the file. File was too large for email. Asked for help transferring the file and received none over 24 hours. Gave up and requested my return due to defective item. Tried researching my issue on my own since it appears fairly simple and assumed others had a fix-- nothing. Subsequently, read lots of reviews on another social platform that rhymes with "Seddit" and people were not happy with this company for many reasons. They lost me.

The Terra Kaffe is hands-down the most impressive coffee machine I’ve owned—it’s like having a café at home, effortlessly blending great design with everyday convenience. Here’s what stands out after using it daily: Touchscreen & App: The touchscreen is as intuitive as you’d hope, and the app is easy to use. My kids love it too, they think its like iphone and love setting it up for us. Ton of personalization in app and easy way to figure out when to replace things etc. Favorites: My favorites are the cortado and the drip coffee. I’ve owned many machines over the years, but seriously—the drip coffee from this one is legit. Cleaning: Cleaning is straightforward and doesn’t feel like a chore. Coffee Storage: The bean container holds a generous amount, perfect for fresh whole beans. We exclusively use fresh beans and haven’t needed to bother with pre-ground options. Milk Container: I really appreciate the sizable milk container. I like my lattes extra milky, and being able to adjust the milk amount is a big plus. Personalization: Saving different drink profiles for me and my partner means we both get perfect cups every morning with zero effort. My wife and I have been using it consistently and love it ! Oh BTW, debated quite a bit between white vs black, and white looks AWESOME !

I’ve been using the Terra Kaffe TK-02 for a week now, and I absolutely love it! It’s incredibly easy to use and clean, which is a huge plus for me. The drip tray slides right out and rinses off in seconds, and the bin where the used coffee grinds go is super simple to dump out. I love that the machine even gives you reminders when it’s time to clean or empty things, so there’s no guesswork. After making a milk-based drink, it even asks if you want to run a quick milk cleaning cycle, which keeps everything nice and fresh. One of my favorite features is the ability to create custom drink profiles. You can set up a “Lindsay’s Latte” (or whatever you want to call it), and with just one tap, it makes your exact drink every time. It’s such a cool feature, and it’s made mornings so much smoother in my house. The design is another big win. It’s sleek and modern, and it really looks great on my counter. I have the white version, and while it might show coffee splashes more than the black one would, it’s super easy to wipe down and keep clean. Plus, the spout adjusts up and down for different cup sizes. I may have had a bit of splash at first because I didn’t adjust it properly, but once you figure it out, it’s a non-issue. All in all, I’m loving this machine. It’s stylish, easy to use, and makes amazing coffee!

I was excited when I got this machine and hopeful. The quality build and even the packaging was well thought out. The problem that I ran into was two things. First the frother never warmed up the milk and no matter how I turned the knob on the side at most I would have about a 16th of an inch of foam. The second problem we had was the coffee just wasn’t that strong. No matter what setting we would select it always tasted watered down.

CONS: The drinks are not hot. Firmware updates are difficult to make happen DRINKS ARE NOT HOT I cannot justify spending $2k on a machine, even as pretty and well finished as this one is, for me to have to then warm up the drink in my microwave before I drink it. My wife is a barista at Starbucks and leaving that job, so we started looking for a great coffee system for at home. When we temped the drinks my wife said "oh that's the temp we call warm, and we serve child drinks at." 130F. That is it. And this is the temp coming out of both espresso and milk being frothed. And its also not the temp in the cup, we were measuring right from the drip from the machine, so its not a "your cup isn't warm" or any of that. We also waited to get the firmware update, as we had heard 35.1 would make drinks warmer. It did not, it might even be a touch colder, but my guess is likely no change. FIRMWARE UPDATES ARE DIFFICULT TO MAKE HAPPEN As mentioned I knew we wanted to get to 35.1 for the firmware, and I also know when I get a machine in box, its firmware is likely not up to date. Ours was not, we got 32.0. No gripe there, this is the way of things. The gripe is while finding out what version the firmware we had wasn't bad, getting that firmware to actually update was not easy. We turned off the machine and back on again, which sends it through its heat up cycle and wastes a lot of water, 3 or 4 times. Still nothing, then I walk out and find the machine saying "I want to update firmware" Cool. But why wasn't that just a button in the App? "Update Firmware to latest". I know why the machine needs to run a water cycle on startup, but why does a firmware update require a machine to be shutdown and turned back on? The OS its running is very independent of the hardware, just reboot the OS. PROS: Pretty sharp looking machine Magnets and soft close everywhere App is awesome Scheduling Precision This machine is pretty, we got white, I think I would prefer even more the black, it looks sharp. If Apple made an espresso machine, it would be this one. I love the little touches, literal and figurative of the machine, the magnets make everything be correctly in place, no guess work about "Did I put the bean topper on correctly?" The App is really good, like really really good. Its clean, it simple, and that's harder than you think. The scheduling looks awesome, we didn't use it though before we returned it, but still very flexible and likely can fit your morning routine very well. Do you want to tweak the temp your espresso brews at, how many grams it is, what size the grind is, how much water is in a shot, how many shots you want per pull, how many FL OZ of milk should be in your cappuccino, AND also do that whole list from your phone? Then this does all that and more. Overall, 1 star. I wish I could give more, I really wanted this machine to be the one. But 130F before it hits my cup is going to be 85F before I finish drinking it. For $2k you have to get it exactly right, and on the list of things that have to be very correct is drink temp. I am looking forward to TK-03 and seeing if we can get temps to a higher level. Heck make that a setting too, "Do you want this drink, Warm, Hot, Extra Hot or Melts Plastic"
