So far it is holding up, BUT...I'm not sure how long it will last. The system that hoists it up and down is plastic, so it may not endure. We'll see. We purchased 3 of these to hang in tandem around a west facing front porch. The fabric is nice and the installation not overly difficult. What is disappointing is the the chains on the three do not match; the 5 foot has a chain about 30 inches shorter, which means it is extremely hard to reach and is visually disturbing to the eye. We also found it necessary to purchase 1/8 inch marine grade bungee to allow for a tie down to the ground as the width is not quite sufficient for our spacing to completely go to the edges on the sides where the ball is used to access a lock on the side to prevent wind flapping. All in all a good product with some design elements overlooked that would elevate it to premium. Mostly I am disappointed in the chain length as there seems to be no way to add chain or easily replace it as it seems to be incorporated into the housing on one of the installation brackets. Not sure how they will work when the sun actually shines,(we live in the northeast!), but love the look of them and ease of rolling up and down. Color is also really nice. Price was a factor for us because we will only use while sitting on front porch in the evening. Didn't buy for decorative purposes, but they are really nice looking. Just installed it. Instructions were well written. Mounting brackets are steel and screws appear to be stainless steel. Usually I find any products from china have cheap screws that the heads stripโ€ฆ.these did not. So far I am pleased with the shade and think it will last for quite a while. We bought it to block the morning sun and it is woven tight enough to do the job. As time goes by and the fabric degrades, fades from the sun or breaks I will change this review. But for now it earns my five star review ... show more
