I was a bit apprehensive about putting my brand new bikes on this rack for a camping trip, but it held up great for more than 330 miles round trip, going more than 70 mph for most of that Couple things to note: - Be careful about pedal placement. One was sitting where it pushed against the other and took the paint off the bike while moving. Totally my fault but also something to be mindful of. - The bikes do shake while moving. However, I stopped several times to check the straps and they remained secure. The shaking is a bit alarming. - The hooks scuff the paint on the car a bit. I specifically needed a bike rack for my Volvo wagon ... many of the ones available are suitable only for sedans. The image on the Amazon page partially sold me, and the reviews of placing this rack on SUVs sold me again. Very secure and solid rack with two bikes on board. Our Labor Day trip of $700-plus miles went without a hitch. One snafu: My car doesn't have a solid lip under the rear bumper, so I couldn't attach the bottom strap down there to prevent jouncing. But it all worked out because 60 pounds worth of bike kept everything down very well. Just don't drive at speed over a bump to avoid jouncing. The cool thing is that when done the rack folds down neatly and fits into the supplied pouch. Nice engineering. A suggestion: Many people probably already know this, but with 2 bikes try to place them in opposite directions to each other. That way the weight is more evenly distributed.
