  • 80+ miles off road, held up.
Style: Tire Rack
Needed a cheap and fast way to mount my bike to my Jeep’s spare tire carrier for a road trip. Was skeptical trusting a $50 rack for a expensive bike but it seemed sturdy enough. Ended up doing a 3400 mile road trip where 80 miles were on VERY rough backcountry trails in Big Bend. It earned my respect. Highly recommend nightize’s rubber gear ties(basically huge rubber twisty ties like on bread) to secure the bike to the tire and/or bike rack so it jostles around less. ... show more

  • Pull down a little while tightening after mounting bike.
Style: Tire Rack
I saw reviews stating it fell off. The wheel has some play so if you don't tighten the strap again after you are done and get the play out of the spare wheel it could bounce and loosen enough for the bottom straps to swing off. It doesn't come with anything to strap your bike into it either but i just stuck it through my frame. But super cheap so I'm gonna make it work. It's faster and easier than climbing on top of my Jeep. I wish the bottom hooks had more of a return on them then it would be 1/4" from falling off. The tension slowly comes out too so remember to check it on long drives. ... show more

  • Works on Land Rover Defender!
Style: Tire Rack
UPDATE --- Jan 2023---- SO...once i got on the road with this for longer driver, and it started raining, and I tried to use my rear windshield wiper, realized that this rack doesn't leave room for the wiper to move. So, even though it fits the tire and carries the bikes, it's not something I can use if it starts to rain. And if I have to remove the rack on/off only for when i have the bikes (not leave the rack on the vehicle all the time), then it's a pain because you have to deal with the 2 metal bars that lock into the metal bars which need to be put in back and forth...too much. Need a simpler solution. So i'm back shopping for a new rack. -------------- This bike rack is built for Wrangler. But works great for Land Rover Defender with rear spare tire, even with the case on top of the tire as you can see in the pics. I bought extra bike securing straps so i can tie the wheels so they don’t move and a longer strap to tie the rack to spare tire tighter just for extra security. It’s also easy to take off and doesn’t get in the way if you open the door to reach the back of the car. Better solution then installing a trailer hitch and then a rack. ... show more

  • Perfect carrier and the price is perfect.
Style: Tire Rack
Very easy to set up and secure. I am not sure about the other reviews that have so much trouble securing it.. Make sure the straps are tight and be sure you check them before you pull away.. I have a 33” spare tire and it’s extremely secure.. I would recommend and extra strap to secure the Bike for a back up .. ... show more

  • Seems OK, time will tell
Style: Tire Rack
Instructions are totally incomprehensible. Assemble using the large illustration on the shipping box. I'm nervous about keeping straps tensioned properly so bike doesn't fall off. Time will tell.

  • Fits 2012 RAV4
Style: Tire Rack
Rock solid on a 2012 RAV4. I did add some rope loops underneath the frame of the car to hook the carrier straps into, but adding that $1 fix beats paying $100+ for any of the alternatives that would work on this car.

  • Bike rack
Style: Tire Rack
I'm loving this rack so far. It's really light and easy to put on my spare tire. I was really nervous when I first used it but it seems pretty sturdy. The straps seem fine and are long enough to secure my bike. So far so good!!!!!!

  • Great rack for my JK
Style: Tire Rack
It fits over my spare tire and the straps attach to the bottom bumper to hold everything in place. It is very easy to put on and take off. I also use my wired bike lock and lace the cable thru my spare so no one takes it off. I use a few extra straps to hold the front tire in place as well. The instructions are well written. I am very please with this purchase ... show more
