Dont have a lot more to say, this bike carrier performed exceptionally well for all the activities asked of it. It carried 3 bikes up and back on a 5 hour weekend trip. We have taken it camping and visiting family. Really happy with how easy it is to use to fit multiple bikes on the rack and how quickly you can pack it up and go. The locking mechanism is very clever and secure. And the tilting mechanism makes it easy to still access the lift gate while all of the bikes are still mounted to the rack. Will be recommending this product to any family and friends interested in moving their bikes around.

I really like this 4-bike rack. This one has the easy tilt down knob and easy drop down bar. Both are well worth spending a little extra if you're going to use this rack very often. It's sturdy and hefty, weighing in at 25.5 pounds. The hitch tightening system works great and the lock is essential to keep the rack from getting stolen. I had to call the Allen support line because I couldn't get the key to turn. It turns out that the key will not turn when the knob is in certain positions. So it just had to be rotated relative to the shaft, which I held with pliers. Likely not an issue once rack in installed. Assembly is easy but does require two wrenches, as others have noted because you need to get the longer bottom bolt tight. You want to tighten this bolt enough that there is no movement between the two parts, yet not so tight that it won't drop down easily. The individual bike mounting brackets rotate to accommodate various frame shapes and angles, so I can get my mountain bike on. While the rubber straps are secure, I add bungees as backup in case one breaks. The bikes are very secure side-to-side, but will still rock forward and backward on the rack, so this requires a little extra work to secure them so they don't bang each other up. Might cut up a pool noodle to strap on between bikes. It sill seems like one of the best systems available. I have carried three bikes easily, and four will fit with some planning. Note that the bar does slant upward away from the car, which is good because otherwise the last bike can end up hitting the road on steep driveways and ramps.

I was impressed with the locking features which work very well. The locking feature also takes up the looseness between the rack and the hitch. The ability to lower the support arms and incline the vertical post to open the hatch, without tools, is a very useful design. It does weigh a bit but this provides a stable arrangement. Very happy.

I normally do not write reviews unless a product is exceptional or garbage. This product is exceptional. I got the Premiere Locking 4-Bike for $210 and could not be happier that I did. Assembly was 5 minutes at most. During assembly I thought numerous times this is as sturdy as a bike rack could possibly be yet it was not bulky at all. I tightened and locked it into the hitch in less than 30 seconds and was convinced this sucker wasn't going anywhere. The tilt down feature and the squeeze pins to fold the horizontal rack are engineered perfectly. Completely sturdy and ergonomic at the same time. I drove 200 miles with the rack empty to pick my daughter and her bike up for the summer. I forgot the rack was there. Not a single rattle. I also forgot her 20" mountain bike had the step-through bar so I had to flip it upside down (it was the only bike on the rack) to make the spacing of the mounts work. I was incredibly hesitant that her bike wouldn't stay in place going 75+ mph as well as taking curvy mountain roads. It never moved an inch on the return trip. Full disclosure, I did secure it with 2 additional velcro straps(Super-Stretch Wrap-It Storage Straps, 12") on the mount because I listened to a few bad reviews. I don't think they were needed but they were an additional piece of mind. I also used a bungee to stabilize the front tire to the post of the rack because it was upside down. Her bike did not move even though it was completely awkward and felt off-center. Not a single rattle either. I bought this rack to eventually haul our 3 bikes including my fat tire bike. I have ZERO qualms about this rack handling the other 2 bikes. However, I will be buying the step-through bar rack adapter to negate the upside down bike. In conclusion, I can't imagine there being a better bike rack for the price. It is easy to assemble, sturdy as I could have ever imagined, and intuitive in it's design. I would buy this rack 100 times over.

On the positive side, this rack does everything - tilts away from the car, the arms fold down, the tie down straps are very adjustable & easy use, and there is a no-wobble, snug-fit, "expansion lock" feature that locks the rack into the hitch receiver for security. Also easy to put together with only 3 bolts. On the down side, those 3 bolts are low grade steel, so I chose to pay a few bucks at the hardware store for 3 stainless steel bolts. And that has me questioning the grade of steel components used in the tilting system and the expansion lock system. But all in all, this is is a good-looking and very functional rack costing far less than the top brand names. Choose the rack that matches your hitch receiver size and avoid the adapter if you can.
