This awning is great for the price! You really can’t beat this price for an electric awning. It’s works just fine and the lights are an added bonus. I will just say that it takes a lot of tweaking to get the arms to go in properly. You have to adjust the arms in the front of the awning in order for it to roll in the right way. We have a camper so the adjustment was something we are used to. If you are not familiar it could be frustrating but you can watch videos on YouTube to understand it fully.

Ok first, the shipping is crazy expensive, but it was worth it. The awning got here in about 4 days. Nothing was damaged or missing from shipping. The boxes contained all the parts and pieces it should have had. My awning is 12'x10' brown fabric. Make sure you check your measurements. The frame is actually only 11'5" wide and extends to 9'5". The brackets pull the awning out about an inch to an inch and a half from the wall, so be aware it doesn't sit flush to the wall. In my case, this was to my advantage, as I had two things going down the side of the house that were in the way. Neither was more than an inch, so the brackets pulled the frame far enough out that it wasn't an issue during mounting. Based on reviews, and watching an installation video from the company on YouTube, I decided this was too much for us to install ourselves and to contract it out. I found a guy to do it who used to install awnings for a living before becoming a handyman, so his company sent him to do the install. One man did it by himself in 5 hours, except I had to help mount it because there was no way he was doing that alone. He knew his stuff and worked hard to do it well. I wanted to point this out, as many of the reviews here talk about things going wrong during the installation. Hire a professional to do it right. That's my recommendation. Install went flawlessly. As stated, all parts and pieces were present. The awning is beautiful, sturdy, and appears well made. The retractable feature works really well, the lights are extremely bright, and the remote control ability is perfect. I can't possibly be happier with this awning. As the installer said when he finished... this looks like an awesome bar patio now! He went on all day about how he was getting one for himself.

Amazon has never steered me wrong with most of my purchases....I recommend steer a hard left on this product. The box came damaged, but all pieces were in tact. The instructions for the awning might as well been color by number. We spent several hours taking the awning apart and finally getting the device properly set up. Forget about installation instructions to set up to your house. No instructions, none, nil, zilch, zero!! I finally called in an installation team to put the device up on my house. Within an hour the brackets snapped, the awning to the ground and pieces scattered around....looked like my 5 year old with Legos. Customer Service....good luck, I was told "to contact Amazon. " I imagine I am probably the one lucky one who got just a bad product, but man...if a black cat jumped out of the box..the experience would of been perfect!! Hard pass on this piece.

Aleko was very responsive--when I didn't receive the hardware for installing the awning, they shipped out a new set. That was great. But, the bottom line is the directions on setting up the awning were absolutely atrocious. Do not believe the review from the person who said he set it up with his 12 year old niece ( actually, maybe he did, but he wasn't dealing with a 20 foot awning). My awning weighed 90 pounds. It took three grown men to raise it onto the house. Once we had it up and started the motor, the awning came out and went straight down ( to the ground). That happened because there was no "up" indicated on the extension bars. That required taking the whole thing down off the house and changing the direction of the extension bars. Putting it back up ( with three men), it opened correctly, but it was obvious the motor was struggling and not able to retract completely. That was because there was no explicit direction on how to wind the awning into the roller. Fortunately, I was able to figure it all out and replaced the motor and now the awning extends out correctly. But it took way more time than I anticipated and way more effort than I anticipated. Bottom line, I would never buy this product again. There were no directions on installing the awning on the house. I had to go online and see some other directions by Alekoa that told how to do it. And it felt like the whole process was like that. Updated: the new motor broke just like the first one did--and the manual retraction requires the "teeth" of the motor to turn the roller. Since the teeth on the motor broke off (how did they expect a 1/4 plastic piece to withstand the pressure from a 35 pound awning??!!), the awning cannot be retracted. I am taking the whole piece of shit down and sending it back to Aleko). My rating has now fallen to 1 star. If I could give it zero stars, I would.

I had it professionally installed but when they tested it, the awning deployed but got stuck and would not retract. I even tried retracting manually and it would not work. Beyond that it was leaning down heavily and it seemed as though it was going to pull the lumber off of my house. I would not recommend. At least at this size. It’s extremely heavy and not stable and quite scary when installed.
