  • Good PA system at AMAZON
This is a great portable PA unit. I am a classical singer turned to pop music in my later days I need a unit that I can carry with me and do karaoke to satisfy the typical "sing something"requests at gatherings, parties etc. I use the PA with a pocket SD card player or a netbook to provide the music, the PA can cover a mid size room well and if I need more power I connect it to an amplifier, I have several professional Karaoke players to do big shows but now I use the Hisonic most of the time, by itself it lacks a solid bass sound but the voice reproduction and echo are very good. I bought first the Roland Mobile Cube and return it (see my review on the Roland) I am very particular of how my voice sounds with a mike and amp, the Roland stinks, no comparison with the clear sound of the Hisonic, we also use this unit at public meetings, all 3 microphones work well, the main wireless has a very clear sound, I love the unit after I built 3 portables because I could not find a commercial unit as good as this. ... show more

  • Great clear sound, good battery life, easy to carry - Love it!
I have only had this device for a few months, and only used it once, but it worked beautifully! I hope that it is durable because performance-wise it was perfect. It is very light and easy to carry around, and the sound is loud and super clear. We used it for a walking tour of urban gardens that lasted about 5 hours. There were about 50 people on the tour and this system was easily loud and clear enough for everyone to hear without even turning it up that high. I carried it the whole day and never got tired. We did not have any issues with cracking or feedback and I was very impressed with the range. The tour guide holding the microphone could be at the front of the group of people and I could be at the back (30-40 feet, probably) and there was never any problem with reception. One thing to note is that the 9V batteries that come with the unit are "test batteries" only, and not meant to last. Be sure that you buy real 9V batteries before your event. Also, I am not sure how well it would work for music -- seemed to be calibrated just right for a human speaking voice to carry clearly, but not sure what it would sound like with more complex/varied sounds coming through it. ... show more

  • I love how it's small & easy to tote around
I am a Magician who performs outside on the streets in New Orleans and this affordable system works well for all my needs. I love how it's small & easy to tote around. It sounds great for such a small system. Before I say anything negative I must say this system is well worth the price. I am only giving 4 stars due to the following reasons. 1) The instructions aren't very clear on some of the functions. 2) The lapel microphone is pretty much worthless unless you want to look down while speaking.(which would only be good while giving a speech I guess). However, the wireless headset works just fine so I use that instead. 3) I thought I could use the car cigarette light adapter cable to charge the unit but it is only to be used as a power cord. NOT for charging. Again the instructions said otherwise. 4) The instructions also say you need a Licensed Electrician to change the rechargeable battery but this is simply not true. I ordered a backup rechargeable battery from the Hisonic website for $40 and it can be easily replaced by unpugging a wire & taking out 4 screws. I am on the streets sometimes for 12-14 hours straight so I needed a back-up. Overall I'm glad purchased it because I get superior sound quality at an affordable price. ... show more

  • A great little PA System!
I am on a military base in Afghanistan teaching yoga in a room surrounded by cement walls. The class ranges from 25-80 and I needed a easy portable PA system so that the students could hear me. I looked and looked and found this little gem. The first time I used it in class the students were so happy to finally hear me and many of them made comments about how much they liked it as well. It's light and fits into my backpack, which I then carry on my bike to class. It's very easy to use and turn on. I was suprised at how well the headset part actually worked, since I read so many reviews about the headset being difficult. It's not perfect, but it does work well. If you are using this to instruct a fitness class, I would recommend that after you recieve it in the mail, practice using it while you work out so you can adapt easier while in class. Great product for price and function. Very Happy! ... show more

  • This little system saved the day!
I've been waiting to review this product, because I wanted to find out just how well it works for our needs. We've now used it for a couple of groups that have rented our space for training sessions with about 40 attendees and the leaders for these training sessions have all said that the system and lapel microphone worked great. We also had an instructor that used it for her class. She had a very soft voice and her students were having difficulty hearing her. She said that the lapel microphone worked great for her and her students we're really happy that they could hear her. Lastly, we had a large function here this last evening. We had a speaker come in and give a talk on leadership and we were presenting acheivement recognition awards to 30 of our graduates. It was a very large function with about 200 attendees and was held in our atrium which has a high vaulted ceiling. Our speaker was someone that likes to move around a lot when he speaks so we decided to try our little PA system with the lapel microphone with him. We had a couple of other speakers and a person doing the presentations and they were going to us the regular PA system with the podium microphone. When the first speaker came up to podium to start the program, she switched on the microphone on the podium and there was a loud POP. That was the end of the microphone on the podium and the regular PA system. It just wouldn't work. I switched the microphone that was in the mic. holder on the podium with the wireless hand-held microphone from the small PA system. It fit just right in the mic. holder on the podium, and turned it on. It worked wonderfully. When the main speaker came up to talk, we just switched off the hand-held microphone and turned on the lapel microphone for the speaker. It worked so well. Everyone was very impressed with the system and how well the sound quality was in the large open space of our atrium. Without this little system, the evening would have been a huge disaster. Thanks, Hisonic, you saved the day!! ... show more

  • Great system but replacement parts may be a problem and customer service is non-existent Great system but replacement parts may be a problem and customer service is non-existent
I bought two of these systems. The first was for myself; the second was for a club of which I am a member. I occasionally speak in small group meetings (30-50 people), both indoors and outdoors. It has performed beautifully in both environments. Plenty of volume and clarity is great for theses purposes. Battery life was better than I expected and portability has been great. Heretofore my only previous complaint was that the carrying case was not as well-constructed as it might have been; a snap came out for example. No big deal. But today one of the wireless handheld microphones was mishandled and broken at the club. When I went to buy a new one at the Hisonic online web site, I found exactly the microphone I needed but for one small detail: wireless frequency. The frequency used by the microphone and the HS-120B series unit must match and the the frequencies can vary. So, when you buy a replacement microphone, you must ensure that the frequency matches your HS-120B unit. Still no problem because, as web site instructions indicate, this is clearly marked on a red dot with a number on it. So, I found my red dot with the number "57" and tried to order the wireless handheld microphone. Now we have a problem. The "channel" option box allows a host of frequencies from 1 to 54. So, I need a "57" and there is no "57." And you can't type in "57". I had a bright idea that maybe the microphone for the other unit could be substituted. Nope. That one had a "56" - yet another number that cannot be ordered on the web site. Well, okay. Stuff happens. Maybe someone can help me on the phone. The number is right there at the top of the page. Except that they don't have any customer service option when you call - just accounting, repairs, something else, and an "all other" option. And that "all other" option immediately directs you to leave a message. A message to which they do not respond. This may all be a misunderstanding on my part because I found it difficult to understand the recorded menu options; they were recorded by someone for whom English was definitely a second language. So, now I am left with the following options: 1. Buy an entirely new unit because the mike was broken, 2. Buy one of those wireless microphone/receiver combinations and plug the receiver into the microphone jack on the unit, or 3. use a cable microphone. There may be another option that I am overlooking but you do get the idea. In short, great product - terrible customer service. ... show more

  • Great for use in Rec Center exercise class
My wife is teaching Barre in a local rec center. The room is a large ballet/workout style room (holds about 40 people) with the sound and microphone running on the system. It was a real hassle because often the system would give a lot of feedback (the high-pitched whining, whistling sound) whenever my wife would get close to the audio or when both audio and microphone were turned up higher---a common occurrence in a large exercise class. It was really interfering with her teaching as she sometimes would just take off the headphone mic and try and talk, but her voice would get drowned out. We decided to look at this as it has a hand-held mic, lapel mic, and headphone mic. and was portable. What a great buy it was! The design seems a little old school, but the quality is superb. She uses the headphone mic and its light, relatively inconspicuous, and projects her voice really well. (ALMOST) NO MORE FEEDBACK. Once in a while, there is some if she gets 1-2 feet of the unit's speaker box, and if the echo is turned up a lot. But really, since we've had it, there has been only 3-4 times there has been feedback and it was unusual. The volume is great. At first, given the size of the speaker box, we wondered if the volume would be enough. But she has the volume at only 1/2 way and it's plenty loud for the entire room to hear, even with pop music playing fairly loud through the room. The unit comes with a simple carry bag with shoulder strap, side pockets for all additional accessories and two 9V batteries included. Ours were weak when we got them so we just bought some rechargeable 9V ones. The audio unit can run on a single internal battery, with the 9V battery (i think you have to have both inserted) and each mic uses a 9V battery or connects to the battery pack that uses a 9V. This was a great deal and we can see using it at social functions, church functions, sports activities etc. ... show more

  • Great PA Unit with Lots of Mics, Functionality.
Found this unit while browsing for outdoor mic or megaphone on Amazon. I wanted a megaphone or outdoor mic for protests. For the Protest Against Trump the Friday night after the election, we didn't have even a megaphone until late. We have to keep our minorities safe and free of fear. I bought this so more people could engage at protests and outdoor events. It is super. It's not heavy. It is easy to use and loud. It comes with headphone mic, handheld mic, clip on mic. It is rechargeable even with a car charger included. You can also plug it in. The case just hangs from your shoulder. The unit has all kinds of inputs and outputs. As you can tell I already love it. Can't wait to use it widely. Even though the price was real good, I bought it with a new Amazon card to get the huge discount when you sign up for their card, so my price was great! FYI I needed a credit card to charge and pay to keep my credit rating up high. I'm not good with credit cards, so it is on autopay. Do not get the Amazon credit card or any credit card (they're just waiting for you to miss a payment to jack your rate to something you will never be able to pay off if you aren't paying it off every month). I didn't have a credit card at all, so this worked for me. I don't believe in credit cards anymore. ... show more
