My utility provider mentioned that the light had burned out but that they would charge 400 buck or so to replace it. He provided me the part number.     • Fits my AirScrubber Plus. Disconnect power to HVAC if you unit is wired to HVAC circuit board.
Easy replacement for my AirScrubber Plus. Didn't need any tools to replace. Much cheaper than what HVAC contractor would charge. If your unit is wired into your HVAC unit panel, turn off power to the entire unit before servicing. I unplugged the unit and when the end of the 12V power source touched the metal plenum, the fuse on the circuit board popped. Easy replacement (automotive-type micro fuse) but had to go to auto parts store to get the fuse. At first, I thought I'd damaged the unit since it wouldn't power up, then I thought I'd fried the HVAC circuit board, then I breathed a sigh of relief when I found the popped fuse. ... show more

    • True Fit Replacement Metaphorically and Literally
The bulb was expertly packaged and a true OEM alternative for my Air Scrubber. The process of installation took less than 5 minutes: 1. Unplug Power Cable at Air Scrubber & Remove 4 thumb screws. 2. Pull the Air Scrubber straight out from the vent. 3. Remove 2 thumb screws that secure the cell (may need to use a flathead screwdriver for assistance). 4. Replace with New Cell and reinstall Air Scrubber. The original cell had an 18,000-hour capacity (est: 2 years & 1 month), whereas the replacement has a 12,000-hour capacity (est: 1 year & 3-month capacity). Considering my HVAC company wanted to charge me over $550 for a replacement, I think I will just replace it yearly and save about $250 over two years. BONUS: They also securely packaged candy in the box as a Thank You! ... show more

    • Great product and great price!
After moving into a house we had just purchased, we hired someone to inspect our furnace. We were informed that the UV bulb in the air scrubber unit was burnt out. They would need to order a replacement bulb ($240) and then it would require a second service call to install it ($144) .. total cost would be $384!! Did a little on-line research and discovered that replacing the bulb was easy .. no need to hire someone else to do this! I then found that I could order the replacement UV bulb here for only $147.50! Didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that this was the most cost-effective route. The replacement bulb arrived quickly, and the installation process was a snap .. now I have a functional air scrubber again! ... show more

    • Good, but short shelf-life
Works well, but not long. Warranty says for up to 1 year. My light lasted maybe 6 months. Return policy says return/exchange window closed after 30 days. Lots of money for a short term solution. My original scrubber/light lasted for 3-4 years.

    • Fits Air Scrubber Advanced model A1013T
The man who answered my call last week was very helpful, explaining the alpha character after A1013 isn’t necessarily listed in the product description and is not critical. And the product is returnable if it doesn’t fit. It was fairly simple to remove the Air Scrubber (be careful not to drop any of the 4 thumbscrews). Two screws inside the scrubber hold the cell in place, along with the four prongs the bulb pushes down on. It would have cost well more than double to have this done by the HVAC company, there’s a lot of tasks I won’t try but this is well within my skillset. Someone said it doesn’t have a smell, that’s because it’s the Non Ozone cell. Side note: the “honeycombs” should be oriented so that the furnace air direction is blowing through them. I found this in the Air Scrubber manual. My original bulb went out early and the HVAC guy had replaced the whole unit 2+ years ago under warranty. But I discovered last week the honeycombs were not oriented correctly, I called Air Scrubber support and confirmed how it should be, and they said it’s okay to rotate the whole Air Scrubber 90 degrees to correct this (my cord was long enough). ... show more
