Choose the best for hard water and iron removal Eliminates Red Staining from iron Eliminates scale from hard water Removes Manganese Meter Based Regeneration Fleck 5600SXT Digital Control Head 1" Bypass Valve Structural USA Tank Treats up to 16GPM Special fine mesh resin made to last longer in the presence of iron and filter better! Control Head - 5 year Tank - 10 year DIY Installation Instructions Free Phone and/or email Tech Support Eliminate the hard water that causes scale build up and iron that causes red staining with a single system! Eliminates Scale Build-up - Hard water causes a white flaky build up (called scale) to form on appliances, faucets, and just about anything that it comes in regular contact with. By removing the hard water, this scale build up is stopped in its tracks, so you don't have to worry about scrubbing it off any more. In addition, without the added wear and tear of scale build up, your appliances and fixtures will last longer! Removes Ferrous Iron - this system is able to remove ferrous (clear water) iron, for ferric iron a dedicated iron filter is recommended. Removes Manganese - Manganese is commonly seen as a black "slimy" stain or build up. Meter Based Regeneration - This system uses a meter based regeneration process. This means that the water you use is measured and the system only regenerates when it is needed. If water needs increase the system regenerates more often to keep up. If less water is being used, the system regenerates less often to conserve water. Fleck 5600SXT Digital Control - The SXT controller is the newest controller from Fleck and is built on the tried and true 5600 valve. These valves have an outstanding .

  • Transformed My Hard Water
Style: Combination
I live in a 200+ year old farmhouse with a dug well fed by springs and a nearby creek. The iron and manganese content are extremely high. Prior filtration system was a 10+ year old culligan that was no longer reliable. With that and one small pre-filter my bathroom fixtures- toilets, sinks, shower/tub- needed frequent cleaning. Again—iron and manganese content were off the charts. Fast forward to this product. Before I pulled the trigger I did tons of research. I probably put it in my amazon cart and deleted 10+ times before I finally told myself there was no better value or product to apply to my water issues. I’m so glad I made this purchase for the following reasons: 1. Install was a breeze- anyone who is moderately handy will have ZERO problem connecting to your water system. If you already have a softener this could probably be installed in less than an hour with the proper plumbing supplies. 2. Performance- I paired this with two added big blue 20” spin down filters which made my install a little bit longer than most who will just be installing the softener unit. Combined with the softener, my water is as clear as gin. It’s literally like a miracle. My wife (who is the ultimate judge) is beyond pleased. 3. Value- look around to compare this vs. other options and I doubt someone will find a better value....auto-backwashing, programmable, high grains, combo softener & iron filter, etc. Compared to a culligan or some other retail option you will save thousands and have a more robust unit. Overall, if you have HARD water I would highly advocate you give this a shot. I would also recommend you pair with big blue filter(s) installed before the unit. I’ve had my setup installed for 10+ months now without any issues (knock on wood!). It has transformed my water! ... show more

  • Fantastic product!
Style: Combination
To begin with, this product was 1/2 the price as the cheapest softener from the two local stores and theirs started at 48,000 grain. The 64,000 grain, similar to this model, was almost $1500 + $200 more if you wanted one with an upper basket in the tank. I looked at the chain stores like Lowe's and Home Depot. Theirs were similar in price for the 48,000 grain and had to be ordered which would have taken 4-6 weeks for delivery to the store for pick-up. Installation was a breeze. As other posts stated it only took about an hour and would have taken less time than that if installed by a person that knew what they were doing. Being my first plumbing job I am quite satisfied and believe that this can be installed by almost anyone. After installation and a cycle was run through, the water tested at most 1/2 grain of hardness. The shower and sinks stay cleaner (no more rust), ice in the refrigerator ice maker is clearer, and this is the cleanest, best tasting water I believe we have ever had in this house and we have been in this home more than 25 years. I am very satisfied with this purchase and convinced my brother to purchase one for his home. I have had this softener about a month now and it seems like it will use less than 1 bag of salt per month for a family of 4. I especially like the automatic meter which tells the softener when it is time to recharge. ... show more

  • Absolutely working perfectly!
Style: Combination
Replaced a 15+ year old two tank iron filter (32k) and water softener (32k) system that were no longer functioning well. My well water has 18 gpg hardness, an iron level at 6 ppm, with rusty gunk that will clog my spin down pre-filter within a few days. Now with this new 64k Iron Pro 2 we have clean clear soft water with ~0 gpg hardness and ~0 ppm iron (using Hach test kits). I did add two new spin down filters up front and a big blue carbon filter at the back end just to be sure we have good clean water coming into the house. Only the 2 of us (retired) and I admit I have probably oversized going with a 64k sized system but we have family visiting regularly so for the small price increase choosing the 64k was a no brainer. Very pleased. Saved money doing it all myself. Just planned ahead, watched videos, worked carefully, and the installation went perfectly. ... show more

  • Great for hard water and heavy Iron
Style: Combination
I purchased this softener about 2 months ago on Amazon hoping I had made the right decision. So far the softener has been GREAT ! I have very hard water and heavy iron and as I said so far this softener is as advertised and has greatly improved our water quality and softness. The customer service also has been great, and any questions I had about the softener have been answered in 24 hours, most times less then that. Easy to install, recommend using shark bite type connectors for easier installation, time saver. Hope it continues to perform like now in the future also, but so far I would highly recommend this softener for the stated reasons. Update have now had this softener for 2 years seems to still be performing great. Very happy with this purchase ... show more

  • Very Pleased
Style: Combination
My previous water softener installed in January 1999 was not softening like it used to. The old system, it cost me $1,400 for a water softener company to install it. It was a mechanical timer and not based on water usage. I guess I could have bought new resin, and just the Fleck 5600sxt control head, but at the end of the day, a whole new system was only little more expensive. Received this item and installed in a couple hours (I had to redo some plumbing from the old system). I followed the instructions, did a backwash and turned on a faucet close to the softener. Turning on the faucet, without the aerator installed, close to the softener is important to flush out any resin that may be made it into the center tube during shipping. I called AWFilters support line to ask how to get rid of the resin in the center tube. They were responsive and answered the phone quickly. The softener is performing great and it regenerated already based on the 7 day override that I set due to being on well water. ... show more

  • Need customer support

I have had problems with this Softener since it shipped and was installed. First, when it was shipped, the base was cracked and we had to get a replacement, which they DID send fairly quickly (contacted via amazon message). The unit wasn't hard to install, but there were very few instructions, so a novice may have problems. They said to "go online" to figure out meter head settings. Well, that is not straight forward and you get a lot of inaccurate, conflicting information. Example, to set what type of turbine it was, using the video said it was always one type, so I set it, but the flow measurement was completely off, so I was finally able to find a breakdown online, figure out by pictures (not by any info given on the machine or in the paperwork) what kind of turbine it used, and reset the turbine type to get proper flow measurement. Setting the meter is also not straight forward, as I had reset it and the settings didn't take. I now have the settings correct in there, but the meter now does not regenerate when it reaches 10% safety or even when it gets down to 0. So I have to manually start it every few days. AND one of the biggest problems is the brine tank "check-valve". The valve in the bottom of the brine tank that is connected to the pick-up tube that goes to the softener kept coming apart, no matter how I tried to snap it back together. So I finally "rigged' it to stop from doing that, but it still does not fill the tank correctly and the valve will often stay stuck closed. I need a new one, but never got a call back from customer service any of the times I have called. I think the unit would soften okay if things would work properly. BTW - this is the 3rd softener I have installed in different homes that I have been in, BUT this is the only one I have had problems with. I probably should have bought from a brick-and-mortar store. ... show more
