My daughter had been expressing interest in reading, so I bought her the kids version of my kindle and she loves it! It came with 6 months of Amazon Kids for free, and that in itself made it worth the price I paid for it. The battery lasts forever, and it was sooo easy to set up. It only allows her to read books, so it doesn’t have any other distractions like a tablet would. Setting it up took no time at all. It was fast. It also downloads books really fast too. The backlight allows for her to read at night, and has been helping her fall asleep without her tv and that’s a big deal. It’s designed really nicely and the built in case protects the kindle perfectly from drops. I love the beautiful colors on the case.

My daughter has wanted a kindle forever since I got one. She is a great reader so this seemed like a good idea. I like how easy this was to set up. We opened the box, turned it on, picked our language and were able to sync my account and she was reading within 5 minutes of me showing her how to use it. It seems identical to my own regular kindle and I like the no ads feature. She is 12 and we could have bought a regular one however this one blocks some of those more.. unsavory titles. I'm also able to send her books to her account which is great. She is able to request titles that aren't included with kindle unlimited and I as a parent can review it and either agree to purchase or reject it. Highly recommend it.

The kindle is amazing and I used this for traveling and at home to read when I have free time and the soles is amazing and color contrast is perfect and battery life is amazing and reading is amazing and hold is perfect in my had and speed is great and brightness is perfect

This child kindle was on sale and I bought it for myself. I've been toying with the idea of getting a kindle for a long time. I absolutely love it, It makes reading by the pool and outside of the beach so much easier! It syncs flawlessly with my phone in amazon account. It was easy to switch over to the adult profile. I can switch back over to the child profile and they can read their books without issue. The only problem is, if it were for a kid, it is only black. And white and my kid was disappointed in that, but it makes no difference to me. It's a great size and comes with a cover. I don't particularly care for the design but it works.

This is a standard kindle with a cover. It got my 8-year-old into reading chapter books and he has already ripped through 3 Harry Potters and 4 Minecraft books since Christmas. He reads at night and the backlight works well for that. My biggest complaint is how locked down the kids profile is. First off, I cannot turn it off because apparently there is a PIN that neither my wife nor I set and it doesn't match our Prime Video PIN. I can deregister and re-register it, but that is a pain. Secondly, I cannot send epub file to his kindle like I can to any normal Kindle. I can only share books that I've purchased through Amazon. Nice way to lock them down and pretend it is a feature. I did sign up for a few library cards because I can still share Libby purchases with him, but most of the books he wants have a long wait. If you want to be able to share your own books with your kids, or get them from sources other than Amazon or Libby, don't spend the extra money on the kids Kindle because it is a pain to turn off the Kids profile so they can access those books.

Our 8-year-old son got this as a Christmas gift, he is an avid reader and this is by far his favorite gift. He uses it daily in the car and to read before bed. He is able to use Amazon kids without assistance to download new books, and I have been able to put rented library books on as well. Easy to use and functional. Brightness is good. Battery life superb, hasn’t died yet with only a few charges and he reads for hours. We like the color (sea creatures) and size. There are some slow/lags as I have also experienced with kindle in the past but overall 5 stars.

I am just beyond impressed with Amazon and Kindle! I bought my daughter a Kid's Kindle nearly two years ago. About a week ago it would not turn on at all. So I began the return process, which was a little tricky, to be honest. But I did get it done and received a brand new updated Kindle AND a case, which I did not expect! Turns out the kid dropped it in the bathtub, dried it well, and later stated it didn't turn on..... but that is ALL still under warranty. I cannot say enough for Amazon. It is an amazing little product anyways. My daughter reads incessantly.... the equivalent of 1 Harry Potter book every two days. We have Kindle Unlimited for our family and it is sooo worth it. The Kid Kindle comes with a subscription for kids, but she read all of them in the first year, so now she's just on our Kindle Unlimited. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! AND worth to note: this is the EXACT Kindle you will get if you get the adult one, just a cuter cover (you can buy another if you don't like it) and an amazing warranty. There are options to have it shut off at certain times, which is nice. We love that she brings it EVERYWHERE and always has her current book with her ready to read INSTEAD of being on a screen. The Kindle "screen" is a book, don't get me started, lol. #BooksNotiPads is our motto!!!
