I purchased this a little over a year ago and was only able to use it for 1 season. When i tried to close the awning with the crank it was so hard that the hook actually cracked off. So I was only able to close it partially. The material part is moving to one side and the awning is now hanging on 1 side. It was a lot of money to only use the product for 1 season.Needless to say its Not worth the money. Pat from Fresh meadows Queens I received a phone call from Jesse from the awning company within a day of my review, and to my very happy surprise, after I sent them some pictures of the defective awning, they sent me a new awning free of charge which works perfectly. Just finished installing the 16 ft awning and we love it. Well made, solid design. Deploys and retracts smooth with motor or manually and is easy to adjust pitch. It's easy to install if you're reasonably mechanically inclined. One person can do most of it, but you'll want two for setting it in place. Comes with 3 solid brackets, just get them all aligned then slip the main beam into the slot. The shipping is crazy, comes on a very long pallet. I was a bit worried with some box damage, but the foam inside did its job and the unit had no issues. We have a brick patio that gets super hot in the summer, looking forward to a cool summer this year. ... show more

We have an extended patio and lots of sun in the backyard, so we decided a retractable awning was the way to go. I came THIS CLOSE to buying a heavily advertised brand, but then I did some research online and found that not only was Advaning more highly rated but its price was lower. Winner! Then the only decision was their Luxury line or Classic series … and frankly, the colors of the Classic series suited me better. We went with the 13’ motorized shade in Canvas Umber. Its metal bracket / casing is gray, and the brown/gray combo looks great on the house. The 13’ shade went up easily – granted, we have two strong home improvement-oriented men in the family and they got it up by drilling directly into our stucco/concrete patio headers to position the brackets. Once the brackets were up, the awning slid right into place. Plugged it in and voila! Fast, quiet, instant shade. Love the stylish remote control which we have mounted on the wall using their included bracket. We loved it so much we decided to purchase a second one, this time 16’ long, and placed it right next to the first one, so every foot of our extended patio is now covered. The Owner’s Manual provided easy step by step instructions. The awning itself is heavy, so be prepared to have two or three people to lift it up and slide it into position. I dont ever leave reviews but this product and company have really made a positive impression and I just have to share my experience. I will begin by informing that I was hesitant to buy such an expensive product from an online service but after getting quotes from my local awning companies, I just couldnt afford not to look into Advaning a little more. I did reach out to them directly and spoke to several of their service personnel - to my surprise they all were quite informative, very accommodating, and beyond helpful with all my silly questions. I was reassured that any problem I should encounter would be properly handled by simply calling them again - and was also informed that their awnings have a 5 year warranty. After about 3 weeks of thinking about it I finally pulled the plug and made my purchase, I was surprised to see how well packaged and quick my awning arrived. Oh by the way - this is a very LARGE box, and they do ask that you sign for it which was the only inconvenience since I had to leave early from work to be there. Ok - Installation was so much simpler that I expected and my husband and I did it in less than 2 hours - I must admit most of the time was spent reading and measuring. You can really tell that they invested in quality materials with this product, its very sturdy and works amazingly - WE LOVE IT! Anyway, if your thinking about getting an awning go with this company - you'll be glad you did and we saved close to $2000 by going this route. ... show more
