We bought two of these Awning from Amazon in 2018. One is a 12X10 and The other is 8X8. They are manual not motorized. Price is much better than sun setter. The 12x10 broke last week. I emailed the vendor. The service has been really good. After sending them some video n pic, they explained to me what is broken and how to fixed it. I purchased two of these awnings for my home and I couldn't be happier. The framing seems powdercoated and hasnt shown any rust in the last 5 yrs. The frame as stood up to breezing conditions without issue. I would certain recommend this company to anyone looking for a great value, but dependable motorized awning. So far, it's a great awning. We installed the 16' X 10' model. Installation was straight-forward but not trivial. It is critical to make sure that you screw the lag screws directly in to the center of the studs. I was able to measure exactly where the studs were from inside the garage. I would be leery about relying on a stud finder to find the exact center of a stud. The brackets are heavy duty and it's a good thing because there will be a lot of load on them with a 16' awning in even the slightest breeze. My only concern about this awning is the load on the three brackets. I would have felt better if there were four or even five brackets to support it. The awing appears to be made of quality materials and weighs about 120 lbs. I can't think of any reasonable way to install it on the brackets without having two people to hoist it up. The awning is exactly what we needed to provide shade for our car. I would like to have seen a recommended wind speed (in MPH) that this awning can safely handle before it needs to retracted. There is no wind speed (in MPH) listed in the manual that I can find. Also, there is no wind speed sensor available from the manufacturer that would automatically retract the awning if the wind got too high. So, I will now be glued to to the daily weather forecast or maybe will put up my own anemometer (yippee, another project). ... show more

We purchased a16 footer and once installed realized we needed another. Now we have 2 16โ€™ foot wide awnings side by side that takes care of our west facing back patio. If your really handy and know how to measure and plan it will go smooth for install. If your not to handy and especially if attaching to concrete you might want to hire out to have this done. The smaller shades will be way easier for a novice with basic skills. Build and quality are an excellent value. The Advaning service and support is top notch. We love these shades. ... show more

I bought the 16' Classic Motorized Awning. It was easy to install. I just had to put up 3 brackets and slide the awning into them. The key is to measure and layout everything prior to starting. After installation, the motor wouldn't work. I replaced the battery in the remote to no avail. But I emailed customer support and received a prompt response. As you can see, we purchased our Advaning Awning 4 years ago. We bought the manual awning because we live on the coast and thought the electric one would not hold up. It has been trouble free until we were getting it ready for the summer season this year and the gear box broke. I contacted Advaning, sent them pictures and proof of purchase. I asked for pricing and Yaritza in customer service, who did an outstanding job representing her company, turned it over to the warranty department. The parts arrived and were easy to install per the video provided, all at no cost to me. Because we live on the coast we wish the bearings and fittings were stainless. Other than that we have had 0 complaints and no problems. It appears at this time that we will be enjoying our awning for years to come. ... show more
