I can tell you how happy I am that I went with this awning. Installed myself with some help hoisting it into the brackets. Looks great. Works great. Saved lots of $ not going with the name brand and install. Ridiculously overpriced.

I got the 16x10 unit and installation was very easy with 3 people and 3 ladders (could be done with 2 people and 2 ladders I believe). I like that the power cord is long enough, even with a 10+ ft. installation height over our deck. Unit came fully assembled which was extremely helpful and made installation a breeze. One note: do NOT watch the installation videos found here and online, they have nothing to do with this product which is far simpler to install than the ones in the videos (no assembly of the unit is required). ... show more

We bought two of these Awning from Amazon in 2018. One is a 12X10 and The other is 8X8. They are manual not motorized. Price is much better than sun setter. The 12x10 broke last week. I emailed the vendor. The service has been really good. After sending them some video n pic, they explained to me what is broken and how to fixed it. I'm going to order the replacement part from their website and try to fix it next week. Will update the post once it is fixed. ... show more

Attractive, easy to install, sturdy... If I had to do it again, I'd get the motorized version - easy enough for me to open/close manually, but with Chicago as the Windy City, I'd rather have it work faster to extend/retract. Lovely - color as described - took two experienced installers about 3 hours to put this up. Many videos on Youtube about how. Soon there may be an aftermarket motor adaptor option. ... show more

This awning is awesome! My husband and I installed it ourselves. Not saying it was easy but we managed. It was a bit heavy for me but two guys can manage with no problem at all.

So far, it's a great awning. We installed the 16' X 10' model. Installation was straight-forward but not trivial. It is critical to make sure that you screw the lag screws directly in to the center of the studs. I was able to measure exactly where the studs were from inside the garage. I would be leery about relying on a stud finder to find the exact center of a stud. The brackets are heavy duty and it's a good thing because there will be a lot of load on them with a 16' awning in even the slightest breeze. My only concern about this awning is the load on the three brackets. I would have felt better if there were four or even five brackets to support it. The awing appears to be made of quality materials and weighs about 120 lbs. I can't think of any reasonable way to install it on the brackets without having two people to hoist it up. The awning is exactly what we needed to provide shade for our car. I would like to have seen a recommended wind speed (in MPH) that this awning can safely handle before it needs to retracted. There is no wind speed (in MPH) listed in the manual that I can find. Also, there is no wind speed sensor available from the manufacturer that would automatically retract the awning if the wind got too high. So, I will now be glued to to the daily weather forecast or maybe will put up my own anemometer (yippee, another project). ... show more
