Lug nuts come in a number of sizes, and this set covers most any that you might encounter except perhaps on a big rig. They “flip” over, so each socket actually provides 2 different sizes. Of course, you’ll also need a 1/2” breaker bar in a decent length to make these work. Why get these at all, since all vehicles come with some kind of tire iron? Answer: Lug nuts that have been tightened with an impact wrench are often so snugly attached that the short-handled vehicle tire iron is often not able to break some of the lugs nuts loose. In that case, you won’t be able to get the tire off unless you have these (plus a simple breaker bar). I keep this set in my truck.

I work on cars in the midwest, so rusted and corroded bolts are expected. This is a good kit to cover the main problems I find that aren’t easily covered by vicegrips. I like that they’re double sides so they’ll take up less space in my toolbox. Including an extension wasn’t necessary, but nice of them to include. Same goes for the pokin’ stick. If you’ve ever cranked out an old and corroded bolt, you’ll know they get stuck in the socket. The chrome rod can be used through the socket to pound it out from behind. Clever to include that.

I had a very bad lug nut that was stuck and cut and nothing would fit it. This set could really have used a 28mm and 29mm socket because it jumped from 27 to 30. I ended up having to drill the stud and drive the vehicle in order to get it broke loose and finally was hitting it with a hammer and chisel when I saw movement and finally got it off.

This kit has double ended sized sockets that keep this kit in a small footprint, so you’ll need to use the extension adapter to use these sockets. This Kit also provides all key sizes for vehicle wheel lugs.

This has 5 double sided and sized "sockets" to grab and remove damaged head nuts and bolts. It comes with a 1/2" x 3" extender for your impact. The 3" extender then fits into the opposite unused socket. This clever design gives you 10 sockets in slightly more space than 5. The nice plastic case has markings for each socket and the sockets themselves have very readable sizes on them (I get really fed up with same color or slightly pressed sockets that are almost impossible to read at the job unless you get a flashlight aimed exactly right). The only issue I had with this set is that the included extender won't fit onto my DeWalt 1/2" impact. Fortunately, I have other extenders of different lengths and they fit the DeWalt and these sockets so I am good to go. I think the issue is that DeWalt 1/2" is slightly over 1/2". But I would think that the manufacturer would have checked this with the major power tool companies to insure they would fit. In any case, if your nut or bolt is damaged and won't accept your standard sockets you can use these to grab it and remove it.

Just what I needed to remove a locking lug nut. Hammered it on and I used a prybar instead of the impact to break the lug nut loose! Comes with several different sizes. Not a tool that I will be using very often, however now I have it so incase that happens again I'll be able to get the lug nut off. Comes with a nice storage case as well.
