  • An essential guide for investigators and prosecutors
This book, and the others in the series, are essential to anyone who may need to analyze, present, and understand historical cellular telephone data. The author easily guides the reader through a step by step processes to create a timeline, show important associations, and display geographic relationships using only open source tools. Kevin Metcalf, a police officer turned prosecutor, has done an exceptional job conveying complex concepts in an easy to read and understand process that even those who have little or now experience with cellular telephone CDR's (Call Detail Records) and CSLl (Cell Site Location Information). Kevin's overview of how cellular networks work and his reference material alone make the book a worthwhile investment. More importantly, his provider specific explanations and guidance through the analysis process are important reference material for investigators, forensic examiners, prosecutors, and judges. I strongly recommend this book and I'm looking forward to the others in the series. Colin Fagan, CFCE (Det. Sgt. ret.) ... show more

  • The De Facto Book You Need to Deal with CSC Data
Probably the most technical comprehensive go-to manual for CDRs and how to process them. Kevin takes all the non-necessary fluff out and leaves in only the information you need to process records returned from Cellular Service Carriers. I couldn't be happier with this book.
