The 20 spring steel teeth have a strong grip on the grass and can clean weeds, leaves and old grass layers fairly well. The metal parts are solidly made, with stable welding points and thick paint, and it feels durable. However, there are a few points that deduct points: first, it performs averagely on potholes or uneven ground, and the teeth are easy to lose power; second, the design of the lifting/lowering handle is a bit awkward and not smooth enough to adjust.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Perfect fit and function for our John Deere X310 Lawn Tractor. Standard classic design 20 tines almost identical to AgriFab that we had and was stolen. Assembly manual is a little confusing with many bolts and nuts, however once you sort the parts, entire assembly takes only 10 minutes. Used 1/2" and 14mm sockets and 1/2" and 14mm closed wrenches and impact driver. Saved me an hour of assembly. No need to study isometric views in the manual I include assembly key. We did not have any missing parts, no extra part either. All and all it is well made rake. Works great, easy to assemble. Heavy duty tines, solid wheels, and not cheap either. I like lighter frame that makes it easier to move it around. If you are overseeding your yard like us, this tool is a life saver. Saves hours and hours of raking. [Assembly pictures included]

This is fairly easy to use once it comes together. The assembly was a bit trial-and-error, with somewhat confusing instructions. This will attach to most ride-on mowers or even a small atv. The tines are sturdy, but thin, and the frame is lightweight, which makes it easy to move around. The tray for adding bricks for weight has a shallow side, so if you need to add a good deal of weight, you will want some bungee cords to hold it on. For consistent dethatching, this will work. If you need a heavy-duty aeration, you may want to use a heavier machine or professional the first few times before switching to this.

Overall, this weed rake works well. It is wide enough, and the 20 spring steel teeth have a strong grip. It is effective in cleaning dead grass and weeds. With the counterweight, it can loosen the soil more deeply, and the lawn is visibly healthier. It also works well with my lawn tractor, with a stable connection and smooth operation. Although the instruction manual is simple, it is not complicated to install as long as you are careful. However, I deducted one star because the screws and some metal parts delivered are of average quality. Several holes do not match and need to be slightly adjusted by yourself, and the welding in some places is not very uniform. It is recommended that buyers check the accessories before installation, or bring some more solid hardware to save trouble.

This arrived and I had hoped to get use out of it this weekend. It is missing some bolts and nuts so I can't complete assembly at the moment. It does seems like a pretty effective design and should service me well once I can get some nuts and bolts to replace the missing ones. It seems to be made of decent metal with a nice coating that should help to delay any rusting I might see over the years.

The media could not be loaded. This works well, and is a pretty standard design with 20 tines that scratch along the ground, dethatching the grass and pull out any dead stuff, letting more heat and rain into the ground, and helping to retain moisture in the soil for a much better lawn. I've included a sped up video of putting it together. This is something that took me an hour or so. The tool comes flat packed in a box, and you need to bolt all the pieces together. It doesn't come with any construction tools, so you're going to need your own wrench and socket set to get it done. My fingers were aching by the end of it, and I am buying an adaptor for my drill so that I don't have to do this ever again! I recommend you get a friend to hold the main deck up while you attach the brackets, as it was hard to hold it up and do them at the same time. As a tool, once completed, it does the job, as long as you get a couple of concrete blocks or other weights that don't move around. It's perfectly sized for concrete (breeze) blocks, so you can use those, and some way to tie them down so that don't just slide off the end.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Cleans the clutter out of the lawn sufficiently. We just used this again today due to heavy rains our grass has grown. The fire cut after the rain left the fresh cut grass laying in layers all across our lawn. We joked it up to the back of our lawn mower and it effortlessly gather all the fresh cut grass in no time. Beat raking and can’t wait to use it in the fall with all the leaves. Designed sufficiently to get the job done. Take your time and go slow and don’t try to rush through. Speeding up on the lawn mower doesn’t help collect all the debris. Slow and steady definitely wins.
