  • Perfect for hard too reach electrical outlets
Size: 40FT 16Amp
Extra length is a game saver for my garage. my outlet was too far away for standard charging cable to reach without putting it under car. This saved the day, it works perfect on 2025 Lexus 450 with no issues.

  • Great Long-Cord EV Charger With More Power Than Expected
Size: 40FT 16Amp
I bought this Level 1/Level 2 EV charger for several reasons. Even though my Ioniq 6 came with a Level 1 charger, I wanted the ability to charge faster when I had access to a 240V outlet. The other issue with the factory charger is the relatively short cord. That’s fine if you’re parked close to an outlet, but not so convenient otherwise. The 40-foot cord on this charger solves that problem. I can reach an outlet without needing an extension cord, and it also comes with a carrying case, which is a nice bonus. One thing I discovered that isn’t mentioned in the product title is that this charger can actually charge at up to 32 amps when connected to 240V. I wasn’t expecting that, so that was a pleasant surprise. The charger automatically detects the power source and indicates whether the available settings are 16A or 32A. One important caution: make sure you understand the circuit you’re plugging this into before selecting the charging current. For continuous loads such as EV charging, you generally want to stay within 80% of the circuit’s rated capacity. In other words, a 15A circuit should be limited to about 12A, while a 20A circuit can support 16A continuously. Don’t assume that because the charger will let you select a particular current, your circuit can safely handle it. The available settings are 13A and 16A on a 120V connection, and up to 32A on a suitable 240V circuit. Plugging a 16A load into a 15A circuit is asking for trouble. It may work for a while, but you could trip the breaker or, worse, overheat wiring or connections. Know what circuit you’re using and set the charger accordingly. The controls are straightforward and easy to change. The manual covers several different chargers from the manufacturer, so make sure you’re looking at the instructions and illustrations for the correct model. I gave it four stars mainly because I think the product description could do a better job explaining the 32A capability and the importance of matching the charging current to your electrical circuit. Otherwise, I’m very happy with it. The long cord, carrying case, and Level 2 capability make it a very useful charger to keep around. ... show more

  • Dual voltage for standard 110V (up to 13A) and 240V (up to 16A) with a 40' length
Size: 40FT 16Amp
This Energygenie Level 1&2 EV Charger 16A 110/240V 40FT Cord NEMA 6‑20 J1772 is actually a TopAutoGear branded device. The dual voltage feature is great because you can use it with your standard 120V household outlet (NEMA 5-15 up to 13A) and also a 240V outlet (NEMA 6-20 up to 16A). When on the 240V circuit, the 16A limit may be slow for a pure EV, but my plug-in hybrid on-board charger maxes out at 16A, so this works perfect for me. The manual is quite basic and the "reservation time selection" wasn't clear to me, but thankfully the product listing helped me understand that this is a charging delay time. This is helpful for those that have electricity rates that are Time Of Use or have solar panels and want to delay charging until daylight. You only get 1 button to navigate the menu by using short and long presses, but it's not difficult. The display provides useful information (current, voltage, wattage, charging time, temperature, and power used kWh). On my last several road trips, I've been bringing my charger with me, so a 40' cord (I measured this 2" shorter than 40', but close enough) will be helpful since I don't know how close the outlet will be to my parking spot. The extra bonus is if there is NEMA 6-20 socket near by, I'll be able to charge even faster. I don't have a NEMA 6-20 socket at home to test the L2 charging, so I can't comment on that. You get a storage bag (handy with that 39' 10" cord) and a screw & anchor for wall mounting (there's small eyelet on the back). ... show more

  • 40 ft cable sets this apart
Size: 40FT 16Amp
Love this EV charger. I'm currently using it on a brand new 2026 BMW X5 xDrive 50e. The 110/240V charger that came with the BMW has a short cable. I'm using this as a basic 110v regular plug in outlet charger. I park my car outside in the driveway and sometimes need a longer cable depending on which side of the driveway and how far away from the house I have to park (since there are multiple cars in the household). The 40 foot cable allows me to be able to charge my X5 from most of the parking spots on my driveway. The charging box is lighter weight than the BMW box, so I don't know if that makes a difference in the quality. And the thickness of the charging cable with this kit is definitely thinner than the BMW OEM charging cable. But it seems to be charging up my X5 just fine, and it is not getting hot or overheating so far, even when left outside in the Dallas, Tx, summer heat. I also like that the charging box gives me the option to switch amperage. I currently have it at the highest setting at 16A. My BMW charger randomly trips the breaker for the plug that it has been plugged into. This charger so far has not tripped the breaker at all. ... show more

  • Extra-long 40FT cable makes this especially useful for home charging situations.
Size: 40FT 16Amp
This is a review of the "Level 1&2 EV Charger 16A 110/240V 40FT Cord NEMA 6‑20 J1772 | Portable Dual Voltage with 5‑15 Adapter, Extra-Long 40FT Cord Reaches Any Parking Spot, Ideal for Home & Travel" that was priced at $159.98 at the time of this review. I picked this up as a portable charging solution, and the standout feature is definitely the 40-foot cable. Most portable chargers have significantly shorter cords, so the extra reach makes it much easier to charge vehicles when the outlet isn't located directly next to the parking spot. The dual-voltage capability is another big advantage. Having both the NEMA 5-15 adapter for standard household outlets and the NEMA 6-20 plug for 240V charging gives a lot of flexibility whether charging at home, visiting friends, traveling, or staying at a rental property. Setup is straightforward and doesn't require apps, accounts, or complicated configuration. Just plug it in, connect the vehicle, and start charging. The LED status indicators provide a quick way to verify that everything is operating properly. The included carrying bag is a nice addition, especially considering the length of the cable. It helps keep the charger organized when stored in the trunk. I also appreciate the adjustable current settings and delay timer. Those features provide additional flexibility depending on the electrical circuit being used and can help take advantage of off-peak electricity rates where available. Overall, this is a versatile portable EV charger that offers excellent reach, dual-voltage operation, and useful charging controls. The exceptionally long 40-foot cable is what really sets it apart and makes it particularly convenient for home and travel use. ... show more

  • Destination charger for travel and or emergency
Size: 40FT 16Amp
I have a long road trip coming up into the wilderness of northern Maine. There are no public high speed chargers near my destination. I'm bringing a level two charger with me, but I'm concerned the electrical won't handle that machine. I ordered this as a back up and tested it this weekend. It's certainly affordable and it functions as expected. This means it's a trickle charge gaining about 1-3 miles per hour. The maximum output is 16amps, but I only saw about 12... My car also limits these types of chargers for some reason. It comes with a convenient carrying bag and is super easy to use. Plugging it into the house and the car was simple. I really wish there was a way to get a little more juice out of it, but in a pinch, it works. ... show more

  • Solid charger with long cord
Size: 40FT 16Amp
This is a solid portable EV charger and works well. The construction feels sturdy, and the 16-amp charging capability with both 110V and 240V options makes it versatile for home use or taking along when traveling. One of the best features is definitely the extra-long 40-foot cord. That much length gives you a lot more flexibility with where you park and makes reaching the vehicle much easier when the outlet isn’t conveniently located. Pros: * Solid, well-made construction * Extra-long 40-foot charging cord * 16A charging * Supports both Level 1 and Level 2 charging * Works with 110V and 240V * Includes NEMA 5-15 adapter * Great flexibility for different parking locations * Portable for travel * Good J1772 charging option Cons: * No complaints so far Overall- A solid and versatile EV charger with an excellent cord length. The 40-foot cable is especially useful and gives you plenty of flexibility when parking farther away from an outlet. Overall, a good charger that does exactly what I need it to do. ... show more
