These bolt extractors really work. I had four bolts that had rusted off heads inside a bull dozer steering clutch housing. I had to use a pry bar to hold the sockets on the bolt head while I turned a wrench to dig the fluted socket edges on. The hex head on the sockets made it possible for me to fasten a box end wrench to the socket and reach down onto the steering clutch bolts. The bolts were torqued to over 90 ft lbs and the extractor kept digging in as I pulled on the wrench with a cheater bar attached to it. I highly recommend these. Excellent price, too. ... show more

This worked pure and simple. I was trying everything to remove a 16mm, low profile bolt and I rounded the bolt. I made it worse by using a file to try and get the points back which only made it worse. I bought these bolt extractor sockets and found the closest match. I put it on, seated it down on what remainded of the bolt head and it grabbed very securely. Although probably not made or warrantied for this, I attached the socket to my pheumatic impact wrench when I couldn't get enough leverage with a hand socket wrench. The socket fully bit into the bolt and it came right off. BIG FAN! I was very close to taking this to a mechanic which would have cost me a couple hundred dollars. Very glad to have these in my "tool belt" for future issues! ... show more
