It’s almost like a thick felt, so I have a tarp down first with this on top of it and you can’t feel any of the hard parts of the ground. The fact that it’s round is even Better. Very helpful to smooth out under our pool liner. I wish it was a little thicker but it was still a good protective layer to have. Next year I will get a second one to go on top of this one.

So far it seems to be working okay. I ordered a thicker one and the day before it should have come,bAmazin said it would be almost a month longer, so I rush ordered this one in order to finish the job. Time will tell.

Those of us who set up above ground pools know how important it is to prepare the base and ground cover area. Normally a plastic tarp is used for this purpose. I say this product and decide it would be a good addition to protect the pool bottom from damage and add a bit of softness. The great thing is that it is cut circular and does not overlap. I placed this on top of my ground tarp and then the pool on top of that. I am glad we added this layer, I noticed some additional cushioning on the bottom and had some additional peace of mind for the extra protection it offers. A no brainer for pool owners in my opinion.

I bought this to place between a brick patio and an inflatable bounce pool. I wanted to protect the pool bottom from puncture, and it did that. I also wanted to add some cushioning; it didn't do that at all, the material is a very thin plastic felt. After a couple days I took the whole ensemble down and there was mold growing on this liner. I get it, it's Florida and moisture and darkness means mold, but I hadn't realized I was getting something for one-time brief use. But there it is. Spreading it out in the sun arrested the progress - just a bunch of black spots now, no longer spreading - but I think for longer term use this would not be a solution I'd endorse. I ended up tossing it.
