  • Good Quality And The Operations Can Be Improved
Style: Boiler Size: 4.0-Liter
The vender delivers the product in two days free. The package is in perfect shape. It seems that the CV-JAC40 is the latest model from ZOJIRUSHI with a Red floating pointer for the water level and better insulation (called VE Hybride) for the purpose of reducing the electric usage. The user manual is in details. After initial use of it, however, there are some improvements may be made. 1. The Reboile and QuickTemp should have separate lights for clear indication of which mode is used. For me the unit is placed on the counter and partially under the cabinet so the Steam Vent is directly under the cabinet. For the Reboile mode, I need to turn the unit to make sure the Steam Vent is out of the bottom of the cabinet to avoid the steam wetting the cabinet. For the credit of the factory, the unit can be turned easily. For the Quick Temp mode, I can leave the Steam Vent under the cabinet due to no steam is jetting out from the boiling process. 2. The Timer feature is convenient for shutting off the power overnight for safety and energy saving. However, it seems that when it turns on the power at the set time in the morning the water is going to be boiled. No Boil/Quick Temp option here. The water in my house is well water that is then going through a Reverse Osmosis filtering system. There is no chlorine no bacteria in the water so there is no need for boiling. 3. You can use a power extension cord according the the user manual. Why doesn't the factory provide a longer power cord? The included cord is about two-feet long. ... show more

  • Great hot water dispenser but could be smarter
Style: Boiler Size: 5.0-Liter
I have been using traditional water boilers. Every time when I need hot water, I need to boil it once. This completely changed it and there's hot water whenever I need it. Capacity is good for two people and it's really quite. The only drawback is that there's no scheduler to turn on and off everyday so that it's not wasting power at night. The provided energy saver function is a manual timer for some hours which is completely useless. To solve this problem, I use Kasa smart plug for automation. Additionally, it tracks the energy usage. I do not have the data for traditional water boiler, but I suppose it might potentially save energy. Even that's not the case, it's providing convenience with acceptable amount of power usage. ... show more

  • The best water boiler
Style: Boiler Size: 4.0-Liter
We have been using Zojirushi water boilers forever. Besides a morning coffee, we drink tea during the day and this is super convenient. We like this newer model better than the last one we had (CV-DCC40). They are both 4-liter in capacity, but this one is slightly shorter and wider, making it easier to refill water. It's also easier to know when to refill water with a wider water level window and a red ball indicator. ... show more

  • Expensive and a luxury purchase, but well-made, convenient, and seems like it'll last
Style: Boiler Size: 4.0-Liter
This product excels at exactly what it says on the label: boiling water and keeping it warm. Like other Zojirushi products, it's thoughtfully made, has nice features, is easy to maintain, and carries the Zojirushi price tag. The manual recommends that you boil a full reservoir of water and throw it out upon first use to get rid of that new plastic smell, which you should do. I did notice that when refilling it, it already had a small white film on the inside of the reservoir. I expected that with my water, and I'm planning on descaling the unit per the instructions in the manual. For now, the residue wipes off easily with a damp cloth. Overall, the unit is very quiet, is easy to figure out (in spite of the intimidating manual common to other Zojirushi products), boils water quickly, and maintains temperature exactly the way you tell it to. It doesn't seem to vent excessively when it's boiling, but take care when opening the lid to refill it so you don't get a faceful of steam. So far, I've had no issues with it. I expect I'll need to descale it regularly, and that I'll need to inspect the lid seal (and the inner lid itself) periodically. It seems Zojirushi expects these items to wear out since they offer replacements for both the rubber gasket and entire lid assembly on their website. Hopefully, those won't be needed for a few years. If you regularly need hot water for tea, coffee, noodles, soup, or whatever more than once a day, you'll quickly grow to appreciate the convenience of this thing. Your wallet might not. Other things of note: - The display is definitely not backlit, despite what the marketing material says. It has an orange background, sure, but there's no illumination of the display. And it seems other boiler models have (or had) magnetic power cables. It doesn't seem crucial for an item that sits on the countertop somewhat permanently, but it's a nice convenience. Unfortunately, I imagine it was probably cut from this model as a cost-saving measure... despite the high retail price. - The red floating ball / water level indicator makes it trivial to see how much water is left. - The plug placement where it sticks out an angle from the right side is a little odd, and you might find it difficult to route the cable in a way that doesn't look weird on your countertop. Reviews for other models of water boilers have pointed out the internals of their lids have disintegrated over time, or that the inner reservoir rusted prematurely; if that happens, I'll be sure to update this review, assuming any disintegrated plastic hasn't come for me, first. Overall, this item is definitely a luxury purchase and is a little overpriced, but does its job well, is well-made, and seems like it'll last. ... show more

  • Pricey but worth it
Style: Boiler Size: 4.0-Liter
Make a lot of tea throughout the day and like hot water available at an instant. Have used a number of water boilers from Zojirushi over the years. This one is the fancist. It's pricey but a necessity at this point.

  • Absolutely wonderful water boiler
Style: Boiler Size: 5.0-Liter
I had to replace my previous 4 liter Zojirushi water boiler that we had for over 9 years because it stopped heating. This 5 liter model is fantastic! It heats the water faster and is even more attractive looking than the previous model. The only thing I don't like is the lack of the magnetic quick connecting plug from the previous model. While we have only had it a couple months, I feel it is going to work great for many years like all our other Zojirushi products. ... show more

  • Well Made Water Boiler
Style: Boiler Size: 5.0-Liter
I have purchased a Zojirushi rice cooker in the past and was very happy with it so I had no qualms about purchasing this and have been very happy with it so far. The only thing I would suggest is to have more time options for the sleep mode
