  • Good price, okay to assemble, hard to clean, only suitable for rats, and other climbing pets.
Great price for the size and it wasn't hard to assemble either, although some pieces came a bit warped, mainly the ramps, but it didn't bother me since I eventually removed them to prevent bumblefoot and give my rats enrichment through climbing, and I also don't use the wire floor part again to prevent bumblefoot. Be aware this cage is best suitable for rats, sugar gliders, and other small climbing pets. Hamsters, rabbits, mice, and guinea pigs need to be in HORIZONTAL cages, and it's way too small for ferrets or rabbits. The spacing is a little too big for my 4 month old rats but if you have older large rats they will be okay. The ledges that remain in the cage had to be covered with fleece, again to prevent bumblefoot. But after spending almost $300 dollars ok hammocks, hides, and toys my rats enjoy it. Although it is a pain to deep clean each month, so if you want a cage that's easily accessible and amazing quality, get a critter nation cage if you can. ... show more

  • My rats love it!
I bought one of these cages for my three baby rats when we first started out, I ended up re-securing it with zip ties and extra coop wiring because my little ladies are escape artists (and I knew this was a possibility going in on the cage). The three have more then enough room, but then I went and rescued three sister dumbos so I ended up buying a second cage, easily removed a side from each cage, attached with zip ties and re-enforeced the new side as well with coop wire. THEY HAVE SO MUCH MORE ROOM FOR ACTIVITIES NOW! Lol We didnt bother with the ladders that came with it because we spruced it up with lots of toys, rope wires, bridges and wooden ladders and arranged the ledges so that there's two big center ones (re-secured on the bottom with coop wire and zip ties to keep together) and two small ledges on each far side, still giving it four levels. The six girls love the cage and have plenty of room! (Which is great because one of the rescued sisters wound up being pregnant and is currently resting separately with her newborns, and were still unsure if well end up keeping the baby girls). Just wanted to add that this cage is NOT ment for Guinea pigs, any basic research can show you that Guinea pigs shouldn't have a wired bottom cage and shouldn't have anything they can fall off of, they're clumsy and easily hurt themselves. When I owned guinea pigs i built a c&c cage that was ACTUALLY suitable for them. Do some research people.. ... show more

  • Good size for rats BUT MUST PUT CHICKEN WIRE AROUND IT OR THEY WILL ESCAPE
I'm speaking from experience, if you do not put chicken wire or something like that around it, they WILL escape. It took me hours to find my rats in my room to out them back in their cage. They slipped through the bars. Poor babies are now traumatized😭 still a good cage though just make sure to put chicken wire or something similar around it if they're around the size of rats. ... show more

  • Not for Rats, and not Returnable
This was a pretty good cage, but not suitable for rats. The bars are over 1 inch apart, and one of my rats was able to squeeze through easily and ate a hole in my carpet. The product lists bar gap as .47”, but that is for the floor of the cage only, which I misread (my fault, but they misleadingly have it listed as the very first measurement). It’s a good cage overall, perhaps for a guinea pig or something. The ladders do fall very easily though and would need some modification to keep them in place. I deducted stars from the overall product because it is listed as returnable, but that is not the case - I purchased it thinking I would be able to return it if it didn’t work out, but when I contacted the seller, they told me it “would not be economical to return it” and offered me $10 back. After emailing back and forth, I was able to get a 50% refund, but am still unhappy that I was not able to return it for a larger/full refund, since the product is brand new. I even offered to pay for the shipping. Anyway. Hope this helps someone else out. Don’t buy it for your rats, and don’t expect to be able to return it. ... show more

  • Not a huge fan of this cage for a Guinea Pig
Ordered this to upgrade from a two level cage for 3 yr old guinea pig to give him more room. The cage is very roomy but the ramps going from one level to the next are not wide or sturdy enough for him. He has fallen off them so many times that he now just stays on the bottom, which defeats the purpose of having a bigger cage. The black bottom tray is very flimsy & shallow and the slide in slots at the bottom are not placed so that you can sit the black tray on the bottom grate and slide it in for support. So that means that the grate has to go over the tray and instead of being on the wood chips, Mr. Squiggles has to stay on top of the grate. And because of the placement, the water bottle leaks off the side of the tray leaving water all over the floor. The thing I like the least is the amount of sharp edges the cage has. While trying to move the different pieces around to give him more room, I have gotten some serious cuts on my hands and fingers from the sharp pieces of metal in the cage and around the doors. I definitely can not let my grandchildren do anything with that cage, not even feed him. Wish I could have returned it but this cage will not be in my home much longer. So all in all, not happy with this cage for a guinea pig and can't imagine it would be any better for a rabbit. A ferret would probably be ok if you handle the sharp edges. But on a good note, the caster wheels are good and it rolls easily. ... show more
