I ordered this ZGrill Pellet Smoker with PID3.0 controller in September of 2025. I waited to do this review until I had the opportunity to use the grill a few times before making an assessment. First, I hired a handyman to assemble the grill. I have put together many items, but simply didn’t want to tackle this one. It appeared to be straight forward and my handyman didn’t have any issues with the directions, parts or assembly. He assembled it in about 1.5 hours, maybe less. Second, my brother used the grill first for Thanksgiving and smoked a brisket over 14 hours! This was his first time making brisket and using a pellet grill. I ordered the recommended pellets from Amazon, we used the hardwood flavor. To smoke it for 14 hours the smoker used one 5lbs bag of pellets with a little left over. I have never tasted anything so amazingly delicious in my life!!! The grill held the temperature to perfection! It held up over 14 hours on the first cook like a champ! The ease of using the grill was extremely easy and self explanatory. It was November and cold when he made this brisket and I did a quick clean up before the next snowstorm hit. The grill stayed covered all winter until last weekend, Memorial Day, 2026. I did a thorough inspection and clean up for my next grilling session. I am so amazed with how easy it was to clean! I used a shop vac to vacuum the ashes and used warm soapy water and a soft cloth to damp wipe the entire grill. Everything I missed at Thanksgiving wiped clean so easily! For my solo attempt to grill for Memorial Day was seamless and effortless. There were no issues with starting or stopping the grill. Again, the temperature held exactly the correct temperature and grilled to perfection! The food tasted amazing!!! The smoke flavor was popping! My neighbors were literally coming by salivating! I ended up making a few to-go plates! Lol! I did the 2-2-1 method for my baby back ribs and they literally were falling off the bone! I turned up the heat and grilled six steaks that were so incredibly juicy and tender! Everything was a hit! I am so overjoyed with this grill! I’ve always been intimidated with grilling but this grill…OMG! It made me look like a 5 star grill master!!! I absolutely love this grill, I love how easy it is to use, the flavor, but the most important part is the clean up! Warm soapy water on the grates, a quick wipe down of the inside and outside and done! The grill looks brand new again! Oh, and I use heavy duty aluminum foil over the drip plate, that also helps tremendously with a flawless clean up. I also purchased aluminum drip pan containers for the grease pot. Easy peasy! The cover is also very heavy duty, as I mentioned, we live in Michigan and it was a brutal winter and the cover kept everything dry and protected. There were a few pellets left from Thanksgiving that were still in the hopper and they did not get any moisture or damage whatsoever. This grill is amazing! I will definitely be doing a lot more grilling this summer and recently purchased a grill cart so that it will make preparations easier. If you’re on the fence about purchasing a pellet grill, do not hesitate! If you love that old fashioned charcoal taste, they have pellets for that too! I bought several varieties of pellets and they are amazing! I can’t wait to try the variety of dishes that can be cooked on this grill.

I was a little skeptical at first, but this unit performs exactly as advertised. I've used it to smoke briskets, turkey breasts, ribeyes, and anything else I can find. I've also used it to grill hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken breasts, and steaks. The high temperature setting goes to about 445° which was plenty to sear it good. That's the good side. The bad side is that the burn cup/chamber has to be cleaned after every use, and there's no convenient way to do that. The cup doesn't come out, and there's no way to access it without taking out the grate and dripping plate which are covered in grease from cooking. Then you have to somehow get into the cup to clean it. I used wet paper towels to cling onto the ash, I've also used a leaf blower to blow the cup clean (don't try it unless you want to get covered in ash), and I've remove3d the lid hinge pins, held the hopper cover closed with my thumb, and flipped the unit upside down and tapped it on the table to get the ash to fall out. None of these are convenient or fully useful. Another down side is that I can't switch pellets for different smoking jobs. If I use hickory for a job, and then want to use apple wood the next time, there's no way to remove the pellets from the feed screw cylinder. The best you can do is flip it over to empty the hopper (all over the floor) and then run the unit until the screw drive is empty. I'm going to have to figure out a better way to do it, since this isn't working. Side note: Do NOT try to clean the inside of the lid with oven cleaner. It strips the paint off. Mine was covered in dripping grease and smoke from normal use, and before packing it into my RV, I wanted to clean it, so I removed the lid, grate and drip pan and applied some spray oven cleaner. It stripped the paint from the lid, worked well on the grate, and helped the drip pan rust when it was rinsed and allowed to dry. I'm hoping in future generations of grill there might be a way to remove the crucible/burn cup for cleaning and some way to remove the drive screw to remove unused pellets for the next cook. Would I buy it again? Absolutely. I love smoked brisket, and the portability makes it perfect for an RVer. If they ever fix the aforementioned issues, I'd gladly purchase the new model.

We use this probably 4-5 times a week! We use to have a traeger and a pit boss and I am so much happier with this smoker. It’s super simple to use and I love that a cover was included. The rollers on the bottom make it so easy to move on our porch. We’ve used it during storms even snow and rain and she’s held up perfectly. It’s the perfect size we can do a full rack of ribs and then some sides even. It’s very versatile you can cook literally anything on it.

So far so good. I recieved this as an early mother's day gift and I'm already in love. The flavor isn't as good as a traditional smoker but it's a worthy trade off considering you don't have to baby sit this it's more a set it and forget it. Assembly was easy after I realized the real directions where in the manual. Dont do what i did and use the quick assembly directions and then have to start iver to put in all the washers. USE THE MAUAL DIRECTIONS NOT QUICK ASSEMBLY DIRECTIONS. Quick assemble directions are missing steps and do not label the parts and bits. Grill comes up to temp quick and outside rain doesn't seem to affect the temp control. The hopper is big enough to smoke a brisket at 225 for 14 hours it only went through half the pellets. This grill.is beyond functional and had supassed all my expectations minus smoke flavor. I used this grill for a total of 22 hours at 225 and will need to refill before my next cook. We got this on sale but I would absolutely have paid full pri w for this grill it's a great value. Advice, use Manuel instructions, and always start grill on smoke before use. You will need to vaccume out the ash before each use and need to use the shut down option to ensure the life expectancy of the grill. The warenty is great at 3 years and if you can get an extended for a total of 6nyears to cover all issues.

This grill works excellently to cook your food. The temperature probe connection is a great asset when cooking things like prime rib, filet mignon, chicken, and other thick meats. The pellets flow through nicely and once set up, it keeps the temperature right where you want it. It is a bit more costly, but compared to what it does to the flavor of your food; it is definitely worth the price. Customer service is excellent with contacting you and answering your questions and how often do you have a grill with a warranty??? Exactly, so Z Grill is one of the better pellet grills and you will be surprised by how many people you see with different varieties of their grills. Give it a try and you will be pleasing many with the flavor and moistness of your food.

I received this grill July 30, a couple weeks ago the grill started turning itself on randomly to the smoke setting while the knob is off. Only a minor inconvenience to unplug when not in use. And was able to use it a couple more times like this. Now the grill displays Er2 when it's plugged in and knob is off. The error does not clear with their troubleshooting. Clearly defective control units. So far not impressed with their customer support either... chat is always offline, no one answers their phone, see how long they take to email me back. Very disappointed with this because I really love cooking on it, the size is great for camping and will run off my 110v solar battery. Update 10/9/24 Their customer service is a frecking joke... they contacted me and initially offered to send a new control board.. even sent a video from their "engineers" on how to possibly clear the problem. Which didn't work. That was 2 weeks ago. Haven't received any further communication or parts to fix their product. Waste of money on their fancy scrap metal.

Great deal and works really well. I've used costco pellets and pit boss pellets with no problems. This smoker is better and cheaper than the trager version for the same size I assembled it in about a hour and wasn't very difficult of do. It takes 10-15 minutes for the temperature to stabilize and gives a good amount of smoke. I've cooked brisket, chicken, ham and jerky on it. All of it has turned out well. Cleaning is easy enough just vacuum out the ash and wipe down the grill. I do put tin foil over the heat deflector to make things easy
