  • As expected
Just put them up yesterday. It was kind of an expensive process as I had to buy a drill and ratchet set, but I guess I should have these things anyway. If you watch the official YogaBody installation tutorial on YouTube they recommend using a 6mm drill bit for both the wood screws and the concrete screws. For anyone who needs this info, that's a 15/64 drill bit. It was annoying having to convert that. The screws are hex screws so you must have the ratchet to tighten them in. At first it's easy enough, then it's full on body weight to tighten them all the way down. Keep in mind if you're using concrete to install these on, you'll need both a 6mm and a 9mm drill bit. So 15/64 and 23/64. Luckily I have this beam going across my living room because my YogaBody trapeze stand is too high for this new house of mine. I fully inverted today and felt like I was going to be sick because I'm not used to being upside down 😆 but the mounts are solidly in place. ... show more

  • The bolt broke
My husband went to install this for me. He predrilled into our studs and as he was putting in the bolt it broke off. See picture. It looks as if this bolt was welded together at the point of the weld is where it broke. Very disheartening. Also we now have a broken off bolt stuck in our ceiling. Which sucks. ... show more

  • Bolt snapped in two
My friend came over to help me install this. When he went to put a little weight on it, the bolt snapped in two!!! We went up and got better grade bolts. He was amazed they used lower grade ones. These seem good just buy better bolts.

  • Easy Set-Up Ceiling Hooks
Probably the best person to write this review is my boyfriend, since he was the one who installed it..but he'll never get around to it. I watched, and it LOOKED easy haha. Honestly though, it really was a painless process. Just have to find a stud (and someone with a power drill). It's helpful to have two people doing it, so one person can hold up the hooks to the celing while the other person can mark where the holes are and then drill it in. It's only been hanging for about a week, so far, so good. Everything came as advertised, good price comparitavely and works perfectly with the YogaBody Trapeze. I had two pretty hefty guys hang from it before I tried it..just to be on the safe side ;) ... show more

  • Not the best solution...
Bought these, but decided against using them. I’ve built a stand-up desk for my computer, and decided a swing would be a fun (and active) alternative to those tilting stools. Plus it has that funky factor. So I bought these to mount the swing to the ceiling. But then my natural engineering sense kicked in... these provide multiple failure points, and require piercing the ceiling joists twice. The welds are made on the back, then the whole thing is painted. The paint will surely rub off over time, and who knows about the welds (they are minimal). Instead of this, I opted for some stainless-steel marine eyehooks and caribiners, along with an amazing marine rope (with a braided-in loop). Very minimal and much more elegant... even striking. It also required only one hole in the ceiling joists. I may find a use for these, but it won’t be a heavy-duty use. They are obtrusive to me... an eyesore on the ceiling. ... show more

  • Great heavy product
Despite my best efforts to pull these from the ceiling by jumping into my yoga swing, twisting, swinging, turning, pulling and dangling like a whale in an airlift sling these hooks have held incredibly well. Super easy to install with only two screws each. Heavy duty, quality material.

  • Will work with 1.5" climbing ropes (AFTER some modification)
Looking for something that you can thread a 1.5" rope (standard size for the workout/CrossFit crowd), this will work if you are willing to cut the smaller / inner metal loop off (tools required are in the pics). After I received this ceiling hook, this I realized rather quickly that it would not work (as delivered) for a climbing rope attachment (1.5" rope). Looking at the other offerings on Amazon, I didn't see anything else spec'd any better for a flat ceiling lag bolt attachment. The inner half moon will NOT allow a 1.5" Manila climbing rope's eyelet to pass through it as it is too small. The welds look strong, so I decided to modify (do this of your own accord obviously). But I now have modified both of my hooks for climbing rope attachment (garage with higher ceiling) and work shop where home gym is. Tools used: 4.5" inch angle grinder (used a cut off wheel first to cut the metal half moon loop off, then grinding wheel to clear off any big metal burrs). Then Dremel (type) tool to ensure all burrs were gone so the rope would have it smooth. If you don't have these tools (angle grinder and dremel), it will cost you about $40 at Harbor Freight...scale up the $$ accordingly if purchasing via others. See pics for the visual story. ... show more

  • Are they needed?
They are heavy and sturdy. I thought you needed these to safely hang your trapeze. The more I read, people use eye hooks in their beams just as safely. 25 dollars vs 2 dollars....you choose. I kept them as I think they are what I expected. Well made.
