  • Solidly built, large and obtrusive looking, but really helps relieve aching back and hips.
This equipment takes up a lot of floor space and would never be described as unobtrusive. If you have a workout room, it will fit in with your other equipment. In a bedroom, family room, or home office it will stuck out like a sore thumb. That being said, if you have back or hip problems which stretching helps relieve, yes you want this thing. It works great. I’m 6’0”. My wife is 5’2”. It easily adjusts and fits both of us - and still has adjustment room for someone shorter or taller. The assembly instructions were good and assembly was easy and quick. This equipment is solidly built of heavy duty materials. I would be very careful and restrict access to this equipment in a household with young children - lots of ways for mischievous youngsters to do harm to themselves. But for adults, the safety features with a modicum of common sense seem reasonably effective to avoid pinch injuries. The basic design of this equipment is an ankle clamp that opens with a mechanical push button. The clamp itself has multiple adjustment pinholes to accommodate different ankle thicknesses. You will feel a bit like a medieval torture victim as your ankles are clamped in this device - if you have a phobia agsinst being restrained, you won’t like this feeling. But for the rest of us, not a big deal. The vibrator pad is an add-on accessory. It works pretty well. We don’t like any of the vibrator settings except the steady one, but that one is good. The heat feature of the vibrator pad works well too. The vibrator pad is, of course, the part most likely to fail - but since it is an add-on accessory, you could simply discard it or buy a replacement - it won’t affect the basic functionality of the equipment. So if you like feeling like a bat or just ‘hanging around’, you’ll enjoy this equipment. Well worth the price. ... show more

  • There's more than just the Inversion Table
The table is BETTER than just good; but the 5th star is earned for customer support which is superlative. Before I made the purchase several questions were answered within 24 hours. After assembly of the unit the massage pillow worked, but seemed to be turning itself off after about 8 minutes. A replacement was delivered within a week of the time that I enquired as to whether this is considered normal. Some brief background: I am 78 years old, have suffered from chronic back pain for over 20 years, have undergone physical therapy along with a Yoga like daily exercise routine, and most recently had an MRI that revealed age related spinal degeneration affecting my lower back and neck regions. My physician had little to offer. There were days where the pain radiated throughout my back and partially into my left leg. It often restricted in my ability to walk my dogs. Even sitting could be uncomfortable. After considerable research, and despite no conclusive agreement that an Inversion Table is much more than a placebo I decided to try one - - - and to save a few bucks if it turned out worthless I went to the highly rated but less expensive Innova product. Positives: 1.The Innova Table is easy to assemble with excellent instructions and videos available; but it does take some time and patience. 2. I adapted, quickly and easily to Inversion but I strongly recommend gradual increases in time and incline. 3. Balancing on the table is actually fun. 4. There has been a very definite improvement in my back pain. I assume it will never totally disappear, but is now reduced to a sort of very tolerable soreness...and I have only been at this for 7 weeks. 5. The table fits comfortably under an 8 foot ceiling and take up an acceptable amount of space. The Negatives: (every product has some, and they are minor with this table) 1. As noted by others, the "massage" pad is actually a " heated vibration" pad. I like it, but do not expect it to do everything. 2. The table is stable but could be more sturdy. I am certain I will get my money's worth, but we will have to see how it holds up over the long run. 3. I currently use the 30 degree incline, which is what the literature recommends as best for my age group. It works. Some products allow infinite adjustment of the angle. On the Innova I will have to go up to 45 degrees next. It might be advantageous if the design allowed more gradual increases. 4. I am on the table 3 times a day, My routine is 2 minutes incline, 2 minutes in a neutral position, 5 repeats. For many people this may take up too much of their day; but it's been working for me and enforces the reported advice that frequency of incline is more important than duration. Please consider that like most of what else is posted about Inversion Therapy; my advice is purely anecdotal. I truly like the product, love Innova, and can whole heartedly give this endorsement. ... show more

  • Good overall
I bought this inversion table because I get lower-back pain, and I use an inversion table as one part of a program of back stretching to help prevent and relieve the tension which I believe is a factor in causing pain. I used to have a simpler, more basic inversion table, but when I moved I decided on this one because of the heat/vibrator pad and the extended ankle-release bar. And the cost seemed low for the features. Assembly: One look at the package contents and I knew there was no way I could assemble this table. (I assembled my previous one myself.) I paid a professional to assemble it, and he had to make several calls to the manufacturer and get a replacement for one of the cross-posts that was drilled crooked. The instructions were unclear on several points and he had to get advice from them more than once. The company was very responsive and shipped the replacement part properly. On a scale of one to five I give them a 1 for manufacture and a 5 for service. The heat function is slow to warm up and then gets too hot for my comfort. I probably will not use it. I like the vibrator function. It seems to help relax the muscles which helps with the stretching. The post that holds the foot rest is wobbly. I judge this to be a risk for slipping off when you step on and off. Get on and off extremely carefully. The ankle clamp will not grip my ankles firmly. One setting is too lose and the next if I forced it enough to engage would be like a bench vise screwed all the way down. It lacks an intermediate setting that would be firm but comfortable. The long ankle-release bar is very nice. My previous inversion table required me to bend all the way down to release my feet. I can reach this one with just a slight bend forward. Does it work? I have not seen any scientific studies about whether or not an inversion table relieves back pain, so all I have is my own subjective, unblinded, N=1, experience. But I think it helps. I expect to continue using it on a daily bases along with my other stretching. I can recommend this unit with reservations, if you are tolerant of some quality issues in return for an attractive price, and if you are mechanically inclined or have access to someone who is, for the assembly process. UPDATE (four months later): I've managed to get a firmer grip from the ankle clamp by wearing shoes, which move my legs up a bit and positions the clamp lower down. It is now firm with a good grip. I went back and forth on the heat/vibrator pad, trying it with and without, and I've decided I definitely like both the heat and the vibrator. I use the vibrator on the setting that gives a steady vibration on the lower back only, since that's where my issue is. I am not a doctor, but I do think that used in conjunction with my regular stretching, the inversion table helps with my lower-back pain. ... show more
