  • Check the sizing of the bars BEFORE
I have 2 rats who are fairly young and it is SO hard to find a cage that doesnt have a wire bottom (bumblefoot) or has small enough spacing inbetween so they can’t escape. Rats need no more than half an inch between or else they can escape. I found videos of people online with this exact cage attaching mesh steel to the sides so they can’t escape if you’re willing to do that. If they would just make a cage this size with a smaller bar distance, charge a few more dollars, we wouldnt have to pay 300+ for a cage that’s smaller. It’s so frustrating. I took a 40 gallon tank (petco dollar per gallon sale) plus the new tank toppers they came out with (more expensive than they should be but great), took out the bottom of the tank topper (clips to the sides of the tank so rats cannot escape even without the bottom) and attached a bunch of ropes and ladders to it with hammocks and fun toys and it works just as well. ... show more

  • Cage - big! :)
This cage came 2 days early, Great cage for my two rats! The top of it did come a little like bent so we had to literally bend it to get the top part of the cage on tight. Very good cage though! As big as it looks, and very decent for price.. it came, it’s a little time consuming putting it together but worth it.. plenty big…. Only thing is the bottom pan had to slide in… but the bottom rack that’s supossed to go under pan (to get it to slide out to clean) wouldn’t fit at all!!! Lol ... show more

  • For Bigger Rodents
New Review: I currently have three boys in this cage as all the females found different ways to escape, however, two of the boys squeezed out the bottom and the fattest got stuck. A few of the girls chewed the ends of the bars to pop them off so I had to repatch the holes, and the top bar spacing is wider than the rest so they've managed to bend the bars just enough. Would definitely recommend as a rabbit, ferret, chinchilla, or temporary kitten cage, but not for rats unless you plan on wrapping the entire cage with chicken wire. (And definitely NOT guinea pigs, as levels are stressors on their already cursed spines.) Old review: Originally had three rats move into this cage and my smartest chewed the weak spot in the very bottom corner and escaped. Luckily, I didn't have to chase her much and used a piece of the old cage to fix the hole. Had two surrendered rats at work (one with an eye missing, one with half her tail missing and a noncancerous tumor) join my girls after proper introduction and cleaning... They can reach their heads out through the bars but can't squeeze out, they're too fat. Perfect so far. ... show more

  • Only one complaint
I use this cage for my rat and she's used to being able to climb the walls but the grate is too wide for her to climb this one. I just feel like they should have stayed with the standard size grate of most cages. Other than that I have no complaints. It's made well, of sturdy materials. The doors open so that you can take your pet out of two possible landings and the stairs are set up in such a way as to not let your pet accidentally fall from a higher landing to the bottom. I'll like that feature very much. ... show more

  • Cage
Easy assembly. Great size. Very pleased with cage.

  • Very nice habitat for my two rats!
Very sturdy, easy to clean, and looks beautiful. The only reasons I give 4 stars and not 5 are that the top of the cage was slightly bent and that made it difficult to attach, and the litter tray at the bottom is plastic which makes it flex when I pull it out to empty and I spilled a lot of the dirty stuff on the floor. Otherwise very good value. ... show more

  • I want to give a 5!!
Got this for our 8 year old chinchilla. We love the different levels for her to run around on. Love that the pull-out tray is so easy to take out without lifting the whole cage. Her wheel fits perfectly. The ONLY issue we have is that she climbs onto every stoop and pees on them. I’m not sure why I assumed she would be smart enough to only go on the bottom of the cage - I gave her way too much credit 🤣 The first time I cleaned it, I reached in and disconnected each ramp and stoop (ledge), took them outside and cleaned them. This next time, I’m going to try taking the whole thing outside, squirt some Dawn on it, and hose it down. I did try wrapping puppy pads around the ledges, but she chews them. So, in summary, I really do like this - I just have to figure out a way to keep the ledges clean. ... show more
