The media could not be loaded. This cocktail smoker kit has six generously sized cans of wood chips, a nice propane torch (no fuel included) and a powered blower fan to keep the smoke in the glass. Once the torch is filled, place the blower unit on the glass, add some wood chips into the metal top funnel, turn on the fan and then light the chips. The small, low air flow of the fan is perfect for keeping the smoke in the glass. It's a really fun touch! The metal funnel threads out and a removable metal screen is below it that can be cleaned out. The unit seems well constructed and is attractive. A short USB-A to USB-C cable is included. Here's the charging hiccup: It will not charge with a USB-C fast charger, at least not with three of mine that I tried first! I actually returned the first one as I assumed it was deflective. When the replacement did the same thing I pulled out a standard USB-A block and used the included cable. It immediately started charging! This is not uncommon but it does make it a little more particular on picking the right charger. ... show more

I had no idea that this product even existed. How cool is it to be able to smoke your whiskey yourself? I imagine this is what it would be like to go to a distillery, preferably Kentucky bourbon whiskey, and try out whiskey that is smoked with different types of wood. This set is pretty great. It comes with wood chips from Beech wood, Cherry, Oak, Pear, Peach, and Apple! That is pretty generous for the price point, in my opinion. Why? Because not only do you get a decent sized container of each of these wood chips, but when you purchase this set, you are given a text number where you text two words. And then they will send you more wood chips if you need them! However, I did discover that right at this moment, they are on back order. They will be back and ready to ship in two months. But because of the inconvenience, the seller is extremely accommodating in their resolution to this! I would absolutely give this as a gift, I would recommend it to any whiskey lover, or any collectors of this type of item.     • Wait, what? Cocktail smoker with a fan?
Just when you thought you had it all. This is basically a regular cocktail smoker but it has an extra little fan that helps move the smoke downward into your cocktail glass. The smoker, like any similar smoker, powered or not, only adds a fragrance of smoke to the nose and does not directly alter the taste of the drink, per se. Do you really need one? Well, No, but it does come in handy if you are smoking more than one drink and only have one smoker. This will help you smoke a glass quickly and enable you to move on to smoking another one, and so on. Note that the fan action is very faint, but it provides a constant boost to drawing the smoke into the glass. I like that it is rechargeable via USB-C. The included wood chips are a little bigger than other cocktail-smoking wood chips I have. They take a little longer to burn but burn a little longer than the more diminutive good chips. Overall, this is a great complete set (except butane) that can get you to begin smoking your cocktails in no time. A great gift idea for others or for self. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. First things first: This smoker kit absolutely delivers as promised, and will put some flavorful smoke in your glass! Packaging is pretty great, though the foam fits very tightly around everything which makes it difficult to get items in and out of it. If you plan on storing all of the bits in the original box then make sure everything has cooled off before you do! OK, now for my caveats: First, for me at least, a lot of the allure of a smoked cocktail is the presentation. In a restaurant or bar they are often presented under a glass dome which is very cool, but you're not getting that here. That experience wasn't promised so no ding at all, but be aware that the experience is different. My first beef was with the fact that the torch requires butane and none is provided. To be fair that is plainly shown in the title, but when I first received this I couldn't use it until I ran out and got some, so just be aware that you'll need butane to make this work. My second complaint is that the fan in the main unit runs on a rechargeable battery and that battery was 100% dead on arrival so I had to charge it. The kit comes with a USBA-USBC charging cable (that's way too short) but it does not come with a charger, so be aware that you'll need the ability to charge this thing. IMO a USBC-USBC cable would have been better, but that's a minor issue. Also not ding-worthy. My unit came with one of the holes on the bottom of the fan incompletely drilled. This doesn't affect the performance at all and it's on the bottom so you don't normally see it, but as a super detail-oriented person (you know, a PITA) that bugged me a bit. Not worth dinging a star over, though, because the rest of it seems pretty well made. Now onto the smoke-making. My one and only ding review-wise is the fact that the torch does not turn off immediately when you release the trigger, but instead sort of slowly peters out. I put a video of this behavior in my review. The good news is that any kitchen torch of the type used to make creme brulee will work just fine, but the torch felt less than safe to me. The kit comes with a LOT of wood chips in many varieties and includes instructions for getting more for free. THAT is very cool! Well done. The instructions say that you should use very little and that is true. Just torch up the wood chips, push the button, and smoke is pulled down into the glass. Bam! Smokey drink! Once you understand how it all works and everything is charged and filled it is super easy to use. Here's a warning for you: Don't do this anywhere near a smoke detector. It makes smoke, and it makes more smoke than you think it will. I mean, it's job is to make smoke so that shouldn't be much of a surprise, but if you put in too much wood and torch it up you'll end up feeling like you're having a cocktail in a house fire while the alarms blare. I found it useful to also have a small bowl of water nearby to dump the smoldering wood chips into because they will continue to smoke with red hot embers for a very long time (continuing to smoke up your kitchen) unless you douse them. My whining about details aside, if you want a smokey cocktail this thing will absolutely deliver that and I think this would make an awesome gift for someone who like smoke in their drink.
