I was so impressed with these awnings I felt obligated to share my experience. I used these awnings on two windows facing a mountain with strong winds, so our interior wood floor would usually get wet when it rained. It cut the problem down at least 75%. The amazing thing is these awnings have held up to some very strong winds. It's recommended in the instructions and the most important detail to follow; After installing everything it's very important to caulk completely around all four sides, both top and bottom of the Polycarbonate sheets completely lock it in with the supports (I used a clear, waterproof, 100% silicone caulk). ... show more

I waited about a month to write my review so that it was an honest "time will tell" review. We had a HUGE storm w hail the other day (even a tornado warning) and it withstood everything thrown at it, literally. It's an attractive awning and certainly an excellent value for the money. I honestly expected to have to put a new top on it pretty quickly but its proven itself well. Make SURE you assemble properly with no gapping and you'll be impressed as well. Installed 5 79x40 units onto a wood frame gable end with hardboard siding. Probably should have bolted on a ledger board first but used toggle bolts on the top holes and lag screws into the truss frame on the bottom holes. Both of these required 1/4" to 1/2" spacers to keep the hardware centered in the holes. Seems solid enough but we'll see what happens when we get a good wind. I would probably not recommend these for hurricane or tornado prone regions. I installed one panel at a time by myself and it got easier with each panel. Hole positions must be exact, there is little margin for error. I marked my holes, did a trial fit to verify my marks and then drilled the holes. All 5 arrived with all parts and instruction sheet. All were undamaged despite 2 having minor damage to the box. 2 arrived a day late. These come with wedge or sleeve anchors for installation on solid block or concrete walls. ... show more

The only improvement would be if an understandable set of instructions were included. Once understood how the fasteners are intended to fasten, you will have 2 components assembled on the ground. With 2 step ladders and 2 installers, it should mount easily......but, bending the poly sheeting into the groove of the center bracket while supporting and balancing on the ladder was awkward. One would be better served by assembling the entire unit on the ground and use 3 ladders and 3 people for accurate hole drilling and mounting ... show more

So the package came a tad banged up, so peel back and inspect the clear covering for cracks....make sure to note the sun side vs ground. Ours had minor flaws that up close you could see up close, but nothing we would send it back for...the minor imperfections was delivery not the manufacturer fault For an awning, its nice looking and affordable. Ours didn't come with a screw guide tool, trust me you'll need one, but a bobby pin or a hair clip will work. No biggie. Take your time and measure your hole markings several times. Watch a couple of YouTube videos on how to install, it saved our sanity. ... show more

Total buyers remorse! These awnings are so flimsy - directions indicate to use a specific glue which it doesn't come with that is absolutely necessary - the directions make 1/2 sense - four screws were the wrong size - bolts are mm instead of inches so we had to buy new bolts - I can go on and on about what a horrible product this is - just going to suggest not purchasing these. ... show more

We found this product to be excellent for our needs! Well made and sturdy, even in 60+ mph winds. The only issue and it was minor was putting the the two parts together by myself was difficult, would recommend using two people for the 6 ft unit that comes in two sections. This whole thing is made of plastic -- the bracket and the awning itself. Thats why its so inexpensive. Im not sure this would hold up well under the weight of much snow, but for rain and sun, its a great product. I use it on the side of my garage to cover my bicycle storage area. Its ideal for that.
