Love the awning itself! Like some have said, it’s very light (it’s a good thing), but sturdiness remains to be seen. By far the hardest thing was drilling holes in brick and lifting it up to the wall. Make sure you measure the depth of the drill holes while the bolts are in the frame of the awning! Top and bottom have different thicknesses too. Our patio door was leaking, and the location above the steps made it really hard to get the awning in place. Before you lift it up, you need to tape across the center back part FROM BELOW so you can get the tape off afterwards to prevent it from coming apart as there are no screws on that side. We got the double-wide, and it took three people to lift it up and keep it in place long enough to tighten the center top bolt to keep it up. As you can see, the result was pretty and the top steps and door were dry when the morning rain came through the next day! ... show more

The product arrived in great shape and was complete. Upon assembling the awning, the instructions lack clarification. There was not a way to clamp or hammer the frame to the protection sheets before assembling with the bracket. The screws were difficult to install to hold sheets to the mounting brackets. When adding the second section, the small screw was not enough to hold the second frame to the first. It was easy to install to the house once the product was put together (we used different screws). It does shade the window and is attractive. (This does take two people). Cannot review how this holds up to the weather yet, but it does appear to be secure. ... show more

These awnings are fantastic. Very strong and stable i put them up just about a month ago, and in that time they've survived rain, high winds, hail, and a freak snow storm that dropped several feet! The awnings handled it all with ease and never budged. Installation was a little tricky. Partially because of the house, and partly because these are a bit awkward to handle due to their size. A second person is highly advised. Also, mark and predrill each set of holes for each panel. There seems to be about 0.25 inch of variation in the bracket to bracket spacing. The panels look wonderful once installed. I've had two neighbors, whom I had not met previously, come by to ask where I bought them. I did not use the provided hardware to attach the brackets to the house. Instead, I purchased 3" stainless lag bolts and galvanized washers from the hardware store. I predrilled the holes as mentioned, and sqeezed some outdoor caulking into the holes before using an impact driver to secure the bolts. Be careful with the small screws that hold the frame together. They don't give you extra, so be sure not to drop one in the lawn. Also, I was using a powered driver for the screws as well and sheered of one of the heads. So, use caution and finesse. I hope you have as much luck with these as I did! I only wish I had installed them sooner. ... show more

I bought this to partially cover a small 60 gallon goldfish pond. It was easy to put together but did take a little thought to figure out the directions. Some notes: 1. Pay attention to the plastic wrapping on the inserts. One side has a note, the aide with the white plastic, which is the side that goes up towards the sun. The other side is clear plastic. 2. Slide on the top and bottom trim pieces on the plastic insert BEFORE you put them in the brackets. 3. The long screws go into the bracket sections into the trim pieces. 4. The short screws go into the front trim piece. 5. The little Z or S shaped piece of metal is to help you hold the screws because the holes are recessed pretty deep at the big end of the bracket. 6. It's possible to hang this by yourself but it's easier with 2 people. I was by myself and put a 4" long wood screw into the wall where one bracket was going and it held up one side for me. But 2 people would be much easier. Overall it seems like a good value for the money. If they last a couple of years you can probably find some plexiglass place to cut you a couple of pieces of the same thickness, around 1/4" or 5/16" and put that back in the brackets. ... show more

This product is same as any other cheap plastic cover in the Market with almost 80% more than other similar products. They are marketing as some premium with high strength, in fact it is the same as the frame has provision for assembly, just they did not supply the extra frame material. if you need something plastic and cheap, just buy cheap ones that are in the range of $80 instead of $135 ... show more

At the price, I expected this to be very mediocre, but I was pleasantly surprised. I liked it so much, I bought a second one for another door. Although it's just plastic, it doesn't look "cheap". The instructions left a little to be desired, and I found it easier to assemble it on the wall piece-by-piece versus building it on the ground, then hanging (since I was doing it by myself). The first one was missing the mounting hardware for wood/siding install; only had the masonry hardware. I didn't realize this until I got the second one which had all the hardware. Regardless, I bought 3" stainless wood screws and washers to mount it with, which I painted white to match. Since installing, I've had a couple of stormy/windy days, and they've both performed very well. Overall, I'm pleased. I'll probably even buy another for my barn door. ... show more
