I have an outdoor cat who doesn't want to be in the air-conditioned house but would rather go outside and sleep in the covered patio when it's 100+ outdoors. Live in Dallas. The cat likes it. I have to move it around to where he likes it and it helps to keep him cool. I've had it a week and so far no issues. Just plug it in and mist comes out. Turning on the fan is optional to blow the mist. The solution included adding a water faucet splitter so I can control the water to this fan and the water to the garden hose separately. It came with a little plastic valve which has a lever to turn the valve on/off. This part leaked on me no matter how I tried to mess with the gasket and used teflon tape. I didn't need it after I bought the faucet splitter. In Dalas, if I point the fan to blow horizontally, the ground in front gets all wet. If I point it up at 30-45 degrees, nothing gets wet. I purchased a couple of these because of how directional they are. I have an overhead misting system and ceiling fans on my patio cover, but I can't use them when we're watching movies outside because the entire area is misted and my screen and projector get wet. So I bought these to sit below the screen and blow only toward the chairs where we're sitting. I couldn't be happier with the purchase. The 4 nozzles put out a lot of water, as other reviewers have said, so I replaced two of them on each unit with plugs. From 10' away, two nozzles still provide plenty of cooling potential without soaking us. The plugs I made by just soldering over the face of some old nozzles I had laying around. And now I have a spare set of nozzles to rotate out when they need to be cleaned, which is pretty awesome. Speaking of awesome, I can't believe nobody has mentioned how nice these nozzles are. They are not the cheap brass ones, or even the slightly better brass with stainless orifice ones. These are 100% stainless steel with ceramic orifices. I've used and installed plenty of misting systems and never seen nozzles this nice. They completely disassemble for cleaning. For replacement nozzles, should you ever require them, look at the "Uxcell 0.5mm Orifice Dia 4.5mm Male Thread 22mm Length Mist Nozzle Silver Tone" nozzles. They appear identical. I am really impressed with the build quality and function of this unit. It feels sturdy, puts out plenty of air, and is relatively quiet. The mist heads are superior to the mist heads in my patio misters, the fan has 3 settings. Really drops temperature. Measured 14 deg drop. I thought I had gone overboard when I ordered both the porch string misters and this misting fan, but the fan really makes it comfortable during the summer heat. My only gripe is the price tag, it is expensive. However, it is a superior cooling device for the porch. It could easily be used as a cooling station for outdoor functions. very disappointing performance and durability. Spray nozzles only worked for a couple of weeks. Fan started struggling to blow in less than two months while the initial investment was affordable it wasn’t worth it for the time it lasted.

This is my second mister, first of this brand. The other only made puddles all over the place and provided nada for cooling. This has been fantastic - just a bare turn of the house provides plenty of mist, the fan gets it where I want it to go, makes the patio usable for me (and the cat) now that temps are well over 100F (109 for today). So long as it keeps working, was most definitely worth the money. Not sure why I was asked to rate it on weight. It's light enough for a person of average strength or maybe a little less to carry, but heavy enough to stay stable, which is more important to me than a light weight. ... show more

We started with a similar product from Lowe's, but wanted something that connected to our garden hose spigot. This fan is MUCH bigger and better. It's very very strong. Great mist and strong fan speeds. I only write reviews for items that impress me, this is one of those.
