Description

Cutting just got more powerful—and more convenient—with the Worx Nitro 40V Cordless 16" Chainsaw. This chain saw delivers high-powered cutting without the need for gas—and the maintenance hassles and cost it carries. Whether you're tackling everyday trimming or confidently slicing through dense hardwood, its high-performance 40V battery power ensures you don't have to compromise on productivity. Adding to the cutting power is the cordless chainsaw’s high-efficiency brushless motor. Compared to brushed motors, it runs 50% longer, delivers 25% more power, and delivers a 10X longer life. The 40V battery chainsaw runs on Power Share PRO batteries, which are designed to optimize power and resist damage to increase runtime—so you can slice through 150 pcs of 4"x4" hardwood on a single charge. Those same batteries can also be used with 140+ power tools, outdoor equipment, and various lifestyle products that are all part of the of the innovative, eco-friendly Power Share platform by Worx. Expect rapid, smooth cuts with this battery operated chainsaw. It delivers a 59 ft/s cutting speed—2X that of its predecessor. And with the chainsaw's robust support of the brushless motor, heavy loads won't shut the equipment down, so you can get more work done efficiently. With automatic lubrication, the chain stays perfectly oiled without you needing to worry about it, providing smooth and efficient cutting, while also prolonging the bar & chain life. Adjusting your battery powered chainsaw chain is just as easy. The tool-less chain tensioning and replacement system is designed to save you time and effort. Simply turn a knob clockwise to achieve perfect chain tension without overtightening. Or turn it counterclockwise to replace the chain without any need for tools. This chain saw doesn’t skimp on safety. Its quick-stop chain brake immediately springs into action if kickback occurs to help prevent injury. Plus, the added safety trigger lock prevents accidental starts, offering additional peace of mind.

  • Terrific tool
Style: Chainsaw
I'm a light, occasional user. I've use this for trimming, felling small trees, cutting logs. For me the battery and oil reservoir seem to last forever and the saw is quiet, lightweight, and cuts well.

  • A Homeowner's Chainsaw
Style: Chainsaw
This is a well thought out and engineered tool with user friendly features that you will appreciate. The proper direction to mount the chain is clearly indicated on the chain bar. Adjusting the tension of the chain on the chain bar requires no separate tool. The chain brake directions(on/off) are clearly marked and the mechanism emits a distinct click when engaging the brake. There is a light display that can be activated to indicate the amount of available power in the batteries. For those of us who need to do occasional clean up that involves cutting up logs or trimming tree branches this is the tool to get. It is difficult, if not impossible, to maintain a conventional chainsaw that is not used regularly. I know I have had difficulty both starting a conventional saw and in keeping it running while working. You will not have any of those problems with this tool. Furthermore, when the power switch is released, the chain immediately stops turning. There is no need to engage the brake or cut the engine to stop the chain while you do other work. It is more like working with a portable circular saw. Some suggestions for new chain saw users. When you first get the saw, the chain bar will not be lubricated. Therefore , after filling the chain bar oil chamber, you should carefully spread oil on both the chain bar and the chain - you can do this by dipping you fingers in the chain oil and spreading it on bar and chain. This probably means you have to disassemble the chain and chain bar from the saw and then remount them. This is relatively easy to do but requires care and a pair of gloves. Get use to this as you will need to thoroughly clean the tool after each use. Getting the right tension in the chain is essential for proper operation - too tight and the life of the chain and chain bar will be short; too loose and the chain will derail. The instruction manual on this point is very good - suggesting that when done properly, one can pull down on a link and it will spring back into the original position. Also be sure the chain brake is released so you can test that the chain moves smoothly when manually pulled around the bar. If in doubt about how to proceed, there are many YouTube videos on chainsaw use and maintenance. Also of note is that for additional safety you can do all adjustments with the batteries removed. This is a fine tool when used for its intended purpose. It won't replace a conventional chainsaw for really heavy duty and extended usage. It takes an extended period of time to charge the batteries, which must be done when you first receive the saw. That said I did find that it could easily be used to cut up a soft wood tree with a maximum 10 inch diameter and still have half its maximum power still available. ... show more

  • Love it
Style: Chainsaw
This saw meets a lot of wants and needs. Its easy to use, easy to fix if you throw your chain, battery life is outstanding, the quality is good so far. Weight is about equal to a similar gas model. And its very functional for every kind of tree/wood I've used it on and I have 4 acres of dead trees with some falling every week that get in my way. The only thing I don't like is that you need to only use enough chain oil for whatever or however long the job is or it will leak out no matter how you set it down or store it. I either use the bare minimum or I fill it up and if there is a lot of oil still in the housing I'll pour it back into the oil quart. Defined a good buy. No worrying about flooding a gas saw, pulling your arm ragged when your gas saw doesn't wanna start and this battery saw has as much or more speed and torque than my 18" husky or my neighbors stihl. ... show more

  • Wow!
Style: Chainsaw
Love this! May never pick up old my gas engine Stihl again... A joy to use: Powerful, clean, quiet, easy chain-tensioning, never any issues with starting/flooding the motor, no fumes, no danger of setting my woods afire if I need to put it down. Only 2 criticims: 1- Takes larger batteries than some other tools in their "power share" line (e.g. Worx cordless trimmer), limiting swapability. 2- Bar oil reservoir cap does not seal tightly enough to prevent rapid leakage when saw is stored upright (must store it on its side, with support under the bar). ... show more

  • Buy this saw today!
Style: Chainsaw
Buy this saw. No pull strings, no gas and oil mess, food to go as soon as the batteries are charged. Plenty of power, in fact, I did find myself very surprised at what it chewed through. Batteries lasted a long time, and the weight was not an issue. This is great for older people who don't want to mess with the process of starting a gas chainsaw. The 16" blade was plenty Kong to go through everything that I needed it to. Also, it is very quiet! ... show more

  • fail, non functional and dangerous to the user
Style: Chainsaw
Well, here is another fail for this brand. The chain falls off this unit. Not as expected since the washer that holds the chain in place on top of the chain driver now comes off. What does this do? well the chain comes off now every time I use it making it unsafe and damaging to the unit itself. I purchased the 10 inch worx as well. After multiple and long emails to the company I gave up. Both the 10 and 16 chainsaws have become worthless pieces of equipment since there is no support. I have considered making repairs to both units but based on the poor quality of the builds I am positive only more problems will arise. I am a homeowner not a commercial worker. So I use these chainsaws no more than 25 hours a year. After 2 years of ownership these units are going into the trash and I will be buying something , better engineered, with a brand name that at least has a functional warranty and parts available. Bottom line is that both chainsaws are will fail and possibly hurt you. Stop buying Worx products as they have very bad engineering. This is a very nice light weight saw. The main downside is that the wood chip exit is inefficient and will clog at least once during one battery session. Just plan to take the cover off a couple times during use. I have cut up to twenty inch standing maple with this. I consider this a machine that will work the first time you squeeze the trigger. That's important. It's also silent. This is a great chainsaw for carrying in a vehicle for light encounters on stormy days. Seems to use oil faster than others. ... show more
