Great jack but horrible packaging for such a heavy bulky item. Needs thicker boxing and poly banding to keep it together. The thin cardboard with minimal tape was disintegrated by time it got to me. I hope it’s all in there?

I'll preface this with the fact that I am a USCG Captain and have owned and maintained many watercraft over the years. I currently have two boats and two jet skis, not to mention the Harley box trailer. I've owned many jacks over the years accordingly. This unit was sticky from the start. I ensured it was greased, but regardless within 3 months of installing it it had a catastrophic failure - failing to rise or fall. The top gearing remained in tact and looking good/greased - but spinning the handle/gears causes no movement. I have it installed on a 30 foot trailer carrying a 27 foot Sea Cat (7000 pounds). I would expect a unit rated for 8000lbs to be of greater endurance and reliability. ... show more
