Updates 10/01/2025: I have updated my review after working with the product’s company. First off, their customer service is excellent. After reading my review they reached out asking what issues I was seeing. After letting them know as well as telling them I had returned the defective unit and received a refund, they sent me a new unit free of charge. So far the unit is working as advertised. The display is very easy to read. I like the color screen vs the monochrome of the other brand I bought. Hopefully the failed sensor the first time around was just an anomaly. But so far so good. I did upgrade the rating to 5 stars as the excellent customer service really warrants 5 stars. Original review: There’s good and bad and a question. First the good - I bought this to monitor the temps in the fridge and freezer of our new RV. Setup was very easy, it started reading temps right away and I liked the idea the sensors could transmit the temps to the display from my trailer to the display I kept in my house. The readings seemed accurate as I matched them with another sensor for a clock we use to get the outside temp. Bonus was I could keep track on the high and low for each sensor. The bad - sensor #1 that I kept in the fridge quit working after 2 days. I checked the temps in the morning all was good. A little while later I checked again and the fridge temp was reading 75.4 degrees. Batteries were new. Removed the sensor from the fridge as well as the one in the freezer. Removed all batteries to reset per the instructions. After reinserting the batteries and the temps were displayed again, sensor #1 still showed over 75 degrees and it was in my house. My question - the sensors need 2 AA batteries each and the display 3 AAA batteries unless it’s being plugged in, why are batteries not included? Why 3 stars and not just one or two. This thermometer and sensor set shows promise in that it seems accurate and I don’t need to either stand next to the fridge/freezer or open the door to see the temps. But a failure after 2 days is cause to drop it a couple of stars.

**EDIT** After posting the review that appears below, the seller reached out to me an offered me a replacement or refund even though I was outside the return window. I really appreciate a seller that stands behind their product. I added a star to my review for this, but the unchanged text of my original review is below: I really wanted to like this. It seemed great and I ran it for a week before I turned the alarm on. During the week, I checked it frequently during the day and it appeared to be quite accurate. However, once I turned the alarm on, the problems started. Several times in the course of about a week, the alarm went off and the temperature on one of the sensors (the one in the freezer) showed well above freezing. The first time it went off was the middle of the day and the sensor had been moved, so I chalked it up to that (the freezer was working fine and the temperature had not changed). However, the second time, the alarm went off in the middle of the night. I woke up, trekked down to the garage and confirmed that the freezer was still working fine. I now see that others have complained of false alarms in their reviews, though I didn't see those when I purchased it. I wish I had seen them as it is now past the return window and I can't rely on this to not give me false alarms and wake me up in the middle of the night.

I like the product and interface, but I have a few caveats for other users: 1. There are only two channels, so you cant use two of these to monitor two different fridge/freezers. The signals just get crossed and you cant tell which base station is monitoring which sensors. In my case, I did buy two, but now I monitor the same two sensors with two base stations at different locations and I have two spare sensors. This problem would be especially irritating if I had a neighbor with the same product and our sensors got mixed up. So, naturally, I will not be recommending this to anyone using within 300 ft of mine. 2. The sensors show consistent temperatures - but only after they are acclimated to their environment FOR A LONG TIME. The manual says to wait 1-2 hrs, but I didn't see my freezer sensor come down to temp for 6+ hrs. However, now it is highly responsive. 3. For me, all of my sensors read ~3°F high (consistently, responsively) compared to other local thermometers (except in freezer defrost cycle - see caveat 4 below). 4. During the defrost cycle of the freezer, I have seen the displayed freezer temp be very high (temporarily) compared to local thermometers. For instance, it is ~40°F when other thermometer shows only ~18°F in the box. I think this is because of the slow response time of the sensors. In any case, it then "catches up" with the local sensor (slowly) - so that it reads about 22°F (compared to 18°F) in ~20 minutes. Then after the defrost ends, the temp starts to fall from there and it goes back to its normal behavior (relatively in sync with the freezer) as the temps get back down to normal (-3° - 5°F). One other reviewer suggested that this slow rate was intentional to avoid a premature alarm in defrost. If that is true, and if your freezer has a long defrost cycle, it still might alarm I think. (I am am not using the alarms.). I feel like the displayed temp lags more as it gets colder than as it gets warmer. So, it seems more likely to be "stuck" high than low. 5. It is oddly true what another reviewer noted: that the manual says NOTHING about this product being used in a fridge/freezer. Gives one pause about its true capabilities. All that said, I am not seeing a better product on the market, and it does what I want it to do - especially for the price. I hope Hodik improves the product, because I would upgrade (and pay more) for something with better sensors and more channels. I love the fact that it is not a phone app. I DONT WANT A PHONE APP!!! As if only one person should get to see the refrigerator temperature after they login. I want anyone near the fridge to use ONE second to look at the dedicated gauge(s) for the device and move on. I do not want anyone calling me to ask me the fridge temp. I do not want to provide my fridge temp to Google or my ISP. I have had only one month so far, so I cannot write about others complaints of sensors lasting less than one year. But as I said, I have two spares.
