I mainly bought this thermometer to calibrate my oven. I got a new stove with a double oven several years ago and it was off horribly. We called in to have it calibrated but the tech didn't even do it right. I went through the headache and expense of buying different thermometers until my brother who works in heat and air told me to get a unit with a probe. I bought one at the store (different brand) and it was off by about 3 degrees from the start. It was the best I found at the time so I dealt with it. It was just a basic digital probe unit. It didn't have preset temps, graphs, or Bluetooth and I think I paid around $20-$30 for it. (Too much) I thought I got the oven all calibrated but I guess I didn't. For the past year or so I knew the top oven wasn't heating up right and the bottom seemed to take longer to cook than I felt was right. It was getting frustrating. I pulled out the store thermometer and was going to start taking down the temps to calibrate them. During one of the cool down times I left it in the oven and when we went to cook dinner it melted the silicone wire cover. So I started shopping for a new one. I found this one. As soon as I got it out if the package I put it in ice water and it was right on the money. I was floored I finally found one that was accurate! Let me tell you the temperature graph on this thing made calibration so easy. I made my own preset temp for 350 and watched the graph. I found my top oven off by about 20 degrees. After the preheat cycle I wrote down the lowest and highest temps. After I got a good average of where it was I adjusted it up till the range was right. I don't need to tell you everything this little thermometer can do because it says it all in the product description. I'm just going to say I was expecting another subpar thermometer from my experience of buying several but was pleasantly surprised. I am glad we melted the old thermometer because I got this one out of it. Also I don't have to worry about this one melting since it is metal. All in all it may not be the cheapest thermometer but trust me when I say you get what you pay for. I am looking at getting another for a dirty santa gift for the grillers, smokers, & campers in the family.

I received this thermometer for fathers day 2019. The wireless app and multiple probe design were some of the selling features. Out of the box, the device seems to be solidly built and feels like a quality device. Even the probes feel substantial and made to last. The unit and probes are pretty self explanatory and worked as expected. It was a nice surprise to find the unit is magnetic and will hold to the side table of the grill. This anchors the display nicely so even as you move the probes, the unit stays put. Having two probes was also a strong selling feature. The ability to track multiple pieces of varying density and thickness has been a challenge for me with a standard kitchen thermometer and often requires opening the grill more than I would like. This means loosing heat and disrupting the cooking process. With the ability to run multiple probes, this can be easily avoided and dealt with. In fact, this unit can handle up to six probes. (I only have two) I downloaded the companion app and the pairing was extremely easy and fast. One of the first things I noticed was the display was in Celsius. This was easily rectified in the settings of the app. The app is very intuitive and easy to navigate. I was quickly able to set temperature alarms and even custom temperature profiles for things I like to grill. Being able to "set it and forget it" was great. I was able to keep the grill closed and still know exactly where I was at in the process. Once I reached the final temperature, my phone let me know I was done. There is even a graph of temperature over time which allows you to see exactly the temperature progression which allows you to estimate when you'll be done. That's a nice feature when you're trying to time multiple parts of a meal so that everything is done at the same time. While the main unit seems well done, the app is really where this shines. From a range perspective I had no issues with connectivity. However, I did not exceed approximately 25 feet from the grill. Overall my initial impressions are that this device is well made and with the addition of the app, offers some really compelling features for the average griller to get more consistent, quality results. I'm really looking forward to putting this to good use.

I tested all the probes against my instant read thermometer (IRT) and was within 1-2 degrees. I tested all 6 ports and they all worked and was accurate as compared to my IRT. I like the probes and the little case that it wraps around to keep the cable neat. The two little balls are simple but ingenious. I couldn't tell from the documentation if the 2 balls are heat proof/resistant, but I made sure to keep it out of my smoker. I used it several days after I got it on a prime rib roast and a chicken in a smoker oven. The rib roast came out perfect at medium rare. I knew one side was going to be more cooked based on the probes. Once I cut into it, it was as the probes indicated. Medium well on one side. Pretty accurate to me! The chicken came out perfect and juicy. I wanted to play it safe and let it cook into 165 after taking it out at 158ish. Probably could have taken it out earlier. The magnet on the receiver was pretty strong and stuck to the side of the grill very well. The mobile app was easy to use. I added add a new custom range or new temperature alert to monitor my prime rib and chicken. Some minor (very) complaint: I wish there was a hook for the receiver unit. Not all grills/ovens, etc have a place to stick the magnetic. My smoker didn't have any cools spot to stick the receiver. I eventually ended up putting it on top of the smoker over a brick that kept it away from the heat. The battery cover came off kind too easily. It was the back side and it seems like they weren't curved enough. The cover came off one time when I removed it from the side of the grill due to the magnet. The magnet itself is on the battery cover. I wish I could change the sound of the alarms for the individual probes. I wanted to play a moo-ing sound when the prime rib was done. OK not really, but I wanted to differentiate which probes was going off as sometimes my hands were full and I need to tell somebody to check the food or whatnot. Overall, I would recommend this product!

Overall, I'm pleased with it so far, but I haven't used it a lot so most of this review are early impressions. The thermometer is simple to use, and seems accurate, but there are a few limitations. One of the main limitations is that there are no controls on the base unit other than power on/off and illuminate. To set alarms and monitor the progress easily, you have to use the phone app with it. The phone app is fairly bare-bones, but it does perform the basic functions of a remote thermometer. Since the device connects with your phone via Bluetooth, you are at the mercy of the usual signal strength/distance limitations of BT connections. I've had decent results from a few rooms away, so it works for me, but I have a new phone with a very good Bluetooth range. If you have an older phone you may not be able to get too far away from the device. In general I would recommend this thermometer as long as you don't mind having to use your phone as the device monitor.

The ONLY downside to this is otherwise outstanding BBQ thermometer is that the case has nonslip finish that attracts dirt. We wrapped it in plastic wrap to solve that problem. But even with that little hiccup, this is hands-down the absolute BEST barbecue thermometer my husband has ever owned. {He has had several remote digital thermometers, but there were always various issues that made them less than fun.) This is my husband's first Bluetooth model and he absolutely LOVES this one! It's very intuitive. Like any man he typically tries to play with his new toys without reading the directions. This time he was successful immediately It is super easy to program and the screen is excellent. It is so easy to read. He has four probes already, and we're going to buy an additional two. He has two Big Green Eggs and is having too much fun using this device with them. And I'm having fun too because I get out of the kitchen. Hubby has pretty much barbecued every night since he got this thing for Father's Day 2019 and it's now the end of August, which speaks to its durability/reliability. It's been outside in misty rain and survived, wrapped in the aforementioned plastic wrap. I can't speak to if it would survive being outside in a downpour. Another upside for me is that when hubby does an overnight cook, you know - when he's cooking half a cow, the app for this thermometer allows him to switch the alarm to vibrate mode and turn off the audio alarm. That's great because when the temperature changes in the Big Green Egg in the middle of the night, the alarm vibration wakes him up without any audio to wake me up. Plus, the range on the Bluetooth probes is fabulous. We have a 1/2 acre lot, and my husband can walk to any point on our lot and still have a feed from the thermometers. Another nice little aspect is the way the wires on the probes wrap for storage. There's a little track they seat in, like on an earbud keeper. You WANT this product. It's great.

There's no real way to express the freedom I have when using this system. It is so easy to set and forget...until the timer or desired temperature is achieved and the alarm sounds. The app is simple to use and works great! So many presets that are so easy to use you'll be comfortable and competent in just a few uses. We have a large smoker and it has reduced my stress and given me freedom from running to the smoker every hour or so to "make sure" all is well. Additionally, the number of probes (you can have up to 6 with this unit) allows me to have multiple types and cuts of meat in the smoker at the same time without the need to pull a probe from the chicken and more it to the pork butt. The longer the door of the smoker is open the slower the process. On the grill we use it for salmon and larger more expensive steaks which ensues the food is not overcooked. Now let's get a dislike out of the way. It is a small matter and easily worked around. The probe (just one) I use for the smoker registers about 15 degrees lower that the actual temperature. No problem it's inside the smoker not the meat. I adjust my settings and expectations and go from there. So you might ask why not use a different probe. Simple I know this one after several months of use, I trust it, and been able to subtract 15 from another number. since elementary school. :) You will be surprised at how easy and helpful this system is to use.

I've been quite impressed with this thermometer. I've had it for about 10 months now and I've found it to be very accurate and easy to use. I've checked the probes with ice water and boiling water and they are right on. I don't trust the thermometer that comes with my smoker (they are notoriously inaccurate), so I usually leave one probe on the grill in the smoker to monitor the temperature and then another in whatever I'm smoking, and the results have been spectacular! The only reason that I can think of to get a more expensive thermometer would be if you wanted one with Wi-Fi capability instead of Bluetooth. But honestly, what are you going to do if you're 50 miles away and the temperature of the meat or the smoker changes and something needs to be adjusted? As long as you're within a reasonable distance, your phone can pick up the signal. If you really need to be farther away than Bluetooth range, spend the extra money and get a Wi-Fi version, but at this price, you can't beat the performance and convenience.

Here in Kansas City, home of The Best BBQ, we smoke our meats low and slow. Smoking a whole turkey or beef brisket for 12 hours at a steady 220° was no easy task prior to buying the NutriChef Pro thermometer. Before: I'm having to run out of the house every 30 minutes to monitor the heat level to make sure it didn't climb too high or fall too low, it was a constant and frustrating battle of temps being either too high or too low. Likewise, with keeping an eye on the meat temperature, is it done yet or did I overcook it again?!?! The NutriChef Pro thermometer was super simple to set up and use. You set your temp ranges in the app on your phone. I put one probe in the meat and lay the other probe on the grill grate to monitor my smoker temp. When the smoker temp creeps too high, the NutriChef alerts you on the phone app with an alarm, I go out and tweak the vents a little, go back to my easy chair and watch the temp start to come down. It is a HUGE time and hassle saver. I have owned about 5 grill Thermometers, including 2 other wireless ones, and this one is BY FAR THE BEST, It does everything I need. With additional probes you can do multiple types of meat, that will cook at different rates and finish at different times, this little beauty covers it all, makes all your meat come out perfectly cooked and again SAVES A TON of time as you don't have to babysit your smoker or grill every single minute of the cook. Great product, well worth every penny.
