The display on this thing is terrible, even with the light on. It's just faded and hard to see, and you have to get down really close at just the right angle to read it clearly. That said, it's very accurate. It's easy to use; just unfold the probe and it turns on, but it always defaults to Celsius, so I have to hit the F button, not the end of the world... It's not instant read. It gets close, then over the course of 5 or 10 seconds, it continues to adjust while the probe absorbs heat. For me, reading water temp for my pour over coffee, it's fine. For meat or fish when time is of the essence, you don't want to sit there and wait for the number to catch up, knowing that it'll now rise a few degrees higher than that even after it's removed from the grill. For the price it's wonderful, but a good instant-read is also worth the higher price. Get what you pay for.

Easy to use, great size, the accuracy of the thermometer is right on money. I haven’t had a problem with the battery life and I absolutely love the color. It’s definitely worth the price works with all different kinds of meats.

This is a very smart instant read thermometer. When you open the folded sensor prong, it automatically turns the unit on. The F/C button is convenient. There is a "Hold" feature, so you can easily read the temperature after you take it out of your item - very helpful when you can't get your eyes safely close enough to read - or you need someone else to "make the call". You can turn on the temporary backlight if needed. The target temps are printed on the front - no more trying to remember required temps for poultry, fish, port, beef. I also comes with a paper chart. The magnet is wonderful because I always will know it will be on the side of fridge when I need it. Great for air fryer users and outdoor grillers!

I have had a tough time trying to grill steaks or chicken by timing. I never seem to get it right. This thermometer has solved my problem. It is quick, accurate and easy to use. The handle and probe are long enough that I don't have to get too close and burn myself. Best steak ever! Chicken was done just right, cooked enough and still tender.
