  • Comparing to Pie Shot Timer. Not for indoor range use. Outside only!
Excellent shot timer. There's a reason why everyone is using these. SIMPLE & EFFECTIVE!. I bought both the Pie shot timer and the Pact 3 (P3). The P3 is better in almost every way. Durability, ease of use, and it has a belt clip. Seriously though, the Pie shot timer has no clip or lanyard to hang from. It's rediculous, really. Anywhoo. The P3 did not perform well at the indoor range the other day. It's useless indoors. There was a shooter 2 doors down from mine, and Everytime he shot, the P3 would register 3 shots! 🤷🏾♂️ Don't ask me why, but every time. Anyways, if you're looking for a quality, durable, and proven to last shot timer, go with the P3. You wont regret it. One more thing...I said the P3 was superior in almost every way right? Where the Pie shot timer excells is indoors. The Pie timer allows you to customize your sensitivity settings to the point where it will register your dri fire. Whereas the P3's manufacturer warning is, do not touch the sensitivity switch for any reason. Also something I wish the P3 could do there the Pie timer can. You can set the Pie timer to loop. In other words, if I want to training hammered pairs in under 2 seconds, I can set my PAR timer for 2 seconds (as usual). But I can then set how many repetitions I would like the timer to run. Allowing more time for focused shooting and less time pressing "GO" on any other timer. Y'all, that's a HUGE feature and def8handy for the one man shooter, who just wants the timer for self practice and training. Overall, BUY THE P3!!! ... show more

  • Essential Gear for USPSA Competitors!
If you're serious about competitive shooting, particularly USPSA or IDPA, the PACT Club Timer III really is a game changer. I picked this up specifically to benchmark my dry-fire and live-fire drills, and it delivers exactly what I need without a ton of unneeded complexity. Why it's Great for USPSA Practice: Loud Buzzer: PACT is famous for their loud buzzer and it really is loud. Even with double ear protection, I have no problem hearing the start signal, which is crucial for running timed drills solo. Simple Functionality: I really enjoy the simplicity of the unit and at its core its pretty basic. You can record your total time, displaying the first shot time (great for time from holster to on target), and the timer allows you to easy review of all of your split times. I like this because I don't have to fiddle through menus or get bogged down trying to find information. Reliable Shot Detection: I had no issues with the timer consistently picking up my shots while at the range. I typically practice outdoors but have used it indoors. For outdoor ranges you can reliably get accurate shot detection but indoors can be challenging if other shooters are close to you (obviously). I find I get the best results outdoors but if you're alone at an indoor range it's just fine. If you want a durable, no-nonsense timer to measure your growth and get honest feedback on your USPSA performance, this is the one to get. A critical training tool worth every penny. ... show more

  • It works 👍
It works great. You need to read the manual thoroughly and probably look up some YouTube videos if you have any questions but it's very simple to operate. It WILL NOT register dry fire. If you want to use it for dry fire you need to set the timer to "delay" for 3 seconds and then set a PAR time for your draw to first shot. I set mine to 1.8 seconds right now. So I press go, 3 seconds later the first beep sounds which is my cue to draw and fire before the second beep at 1.8 seconds. ... show more

  • Good first shot timer
Bought this because I needed a way to objectively measure my progress to improve for 3-gun competitions. Pros: Price - I didn't want to spend $300+ for something I did not know if it would actually help me improve Features - I like how you can set Par and delay time Usability - The buttons are reasonably intuative, the numbers are large and readable for my old eyes. Once you hit review (RVW), it assumes your last shot is the end unless you set a Par time. At the range - It did not pick up other shots around me when I was doing pistol drills Cons: Features - There does not seem to be a memory. Once you start another session, the previous session is wiped out Usability - There is no backlight for the display, so at night or in a darker range, you may need a headlamp or some other lighting to see it clearly. At the range - For rifle (556), it picked up echos of the shot. I fired 10 rounds but it recorded 16. Dry fire - Does not record dry fire. Overall, worth the money for a first shot timer. ... show more

  • Perfect for training!
One of the best shkt timers for a reason! Was looking for a somewhat inexpensive shot timer to practice and train with for competition and could not be more pleased, its definitely nice to be able to see your stats and the improvement along the way, purchased based on the reviews and it did not disappoint, its ease of use and understand make it a win for me and not to mention it didn't break the bank compared to much more expensive options ... show more

  • Shot Timer
I really don't know what took me so long to buy this. It has been a great tool, making my range days more productive. I have only used it outdoors and have had no issues with false readings. Will try indoors this winter. I have dropped it a few times, and it has not failed, so it seems pretty tough. It took me a little bit to figure out the settings and best practices for me, but I have been very happy with this purchase. ... show more
