I have an unusual set of windows on my house built in the 50's. One, rear window in bedroom has large picture windows, two front glassed in porch has three large picture windows, three, rear glassed in porch is glassed in from top to three feet from ground on the bottom on two walls. Plus, there is a large wrap around corner window in front. A lot of window real estate to navigate for this robot. As the winter freeze has passed, it was time to test this out. I admit to disappointment at first as it fell off the front picture windows. May have been due to the crack in one caused by the weather, but it fell in a soft dirt bed in the bushes below. I didn't have a good way to tether the safety rope, it didn't get damaged just dirty. I applied it again and it was able to finish the windows in decent fashion. Not the best-looking cleaning job, but at least good, much better than before. Normally, only a spray wash this time of year. I moved to the back porch where I was cleaning a lot of window surface. I was able to put up some hooks to run the safety rope over and it fell again but my fault this time as I pulled on it with the rope. This time it just hung; it didn't hit the ground below. The edge detection works well especially on smaller windows, and the door to my front porch which has a glassed-in center frame. The extra pads are needed and might need to get more as I probable have more glass surface area than standard homeowners. It fell a third time, but I had it tethered as I kind of expected it to fall on the corner wrap around. The corner has no real edge, so it just ran off and dropped. If using this for 2 stories and above, make sure you have a hook or a nail to tether the safety rope to. It's not as good on small windows especially those not as wide as it is long. I would not recommend for stain glass, mosaic or small specialty windows, but if you have picture windows or a glassed-in porch area it's very useful. I've fixed my rain splatter issue some with gutter guards and fixing the downspouts this year. Before I would get a lot of splatters on the front picture windows close to the ground. They don't need cleaning as much now and it's a lot easier to do the insides as well. The remote works pretty good although you still need to be close. If you have a lot of window space, you'll be filling and charging this somewhat frequently. Still, it beats the hose, and sponge and bucket or extend a mop method used in the past. Plus, till the novelty wears off it's kind of fun to watch. Recommended.

The media could not be loaded. KADSKAN Window Cleaning Robot, Automatic Window Cleaner Robot - I was skeptical at first but after using I found it worked great for my needs. I have windows that are impossible to clean from the outside due to the height off the ground. With this, I could reach out from another window and stick it onto the window and let it do its cleaning, I cleaned windows that had not been cleaned in years with this robot. I used a mix of distilled water and a little bit of white vinegar in the robot to make an inexpensive cleaner. I filled the reservoir on the robot and off it went cleaning while I did something else. It is not super fast but does a good job with one pass but I found I got the best results by letting it go two rounds on each window. (I wish the remote had a 2X wash button). Once it was attached to the window I would use the remote to auto-start and clean and control the robot to place it where I could easily remove it. You must have electricity near the unit and an extension cord did the trick for me. It has quite a reach with the cords included but at times I needed a little more reach with that extension cord. The kit comes with everything you need and includes extra scrub wheels and pads. I may source some extra pads for future cleaning but so far the pads last a long time. The suction from the machine is strong and I was able to clean a door that even had deep decorative bevel cuts in it. Once you let it start when it finishes it parks itself on the lower part of the window and waits. It also has a battery within it to hold tight even if the power goes out. I tested this a couple of times after unplugging and it stops, then starts alarming and holds tight. The only real con is that the round pads cannot get into the corners of the windows. It will leave a very small area that a round pad just cannot access, it is minor and most won't even notice but wanted to share that one con. For my situation, it is wonderful to finally clean windows that had not been cleaned in years.

First off, the scale of this device needs to be understood and I have included an image to try and better convey that. The images in the listing are obviously Photoshop work by someone who has no understanding of scale or proportions. In one image the cleaner looks to be a little larger than a pack of cigarettes and in another it looks to be closer to the size of a small Buick. It is neither of those and actually about 11" wide. That is important to understanding where this may or may not be useful to you. Next, the device requires constant supervision while it slowly works its way back and forth across the window. The supervision is necessary according to the instructions so that someone is present when this falls off the window it is attached to. The amount of time you will watch this for before jumping in and finishing the job yourself varies from one user to the next. Finally, the idea of a robot window cleaner sounds good and is kind of a fun tech item for a minute or two but very quickly you will become aware of all the reasons you do not really need this and eventually you will also become aware of the reasons you don't want this.
