  • Very happy with this!
Style: Blaze Tour Color: Black/Red
I'm relatively new at Pickleball and this is only the 2nd paddle I've purchased for myself. So far I'm very happy with this and I think I like it a little more than my other paddle I have. This paddle is light weight and comfortable to use. The handle fits my hand perfectly and I really like the grip tape. It is not sticky nor is slippery when I sweat. The frame on this has a nice, thick, durable edging that has lasted through me hitting the court a few times. The face on this has a nice grippy texture and I'm able to spin the ball really well. I think the sweet spot with this one is maybe larger than my other one as I sometimes feel like a pro using this paddle. Ha! Overall, I'm really happy with this paddle and can see myself using it for a very long time. ... show more

  • A very good paddle, but not my first choice
Style: Blaze Tour Color: Black/Red
Considering the price, the Wilson name brand, and the fact that the Blaze Tour is Wilson's top-of-the-line paddle, I had high expectations for this paddle. I would have liked to see paddle specifics on the product page, but you can find them on Wilson's website. In essence, this is a 16mm elongated paddle with a longer handle and foam injected edge. The paddle surface is carbon fibre to provide good but not exceptional spin. I consider this a control-oriented paddle that favors feel over power. Both power and pop are adequate and will meet your needs as long as you don't expect exceptional power or pop. Balance feels good, and the paddle didn't feel head heavy to me. It's not a bad paddle by any means, but it didn't wow me. The main reason I didn't warm to it is that the sweet spot is small, and this paddle is very unforgiving on off-center shots. This might be common to all elongated paddles, but I've played with other elongated paddles where the sweet spot felt larger. The paddle definitely lets you know when you hit outside the sweet spot, and harder you swing (such as during serves and returns), the more pronounced the off-center feeling. If you're used to playing with an elongated paddle and have a good feel for where the sweet spot is, this might not be an issue for you. But I still think the sweet spot is smaller than it is on other elongated paddles. There's some pretty stiff competition at this price point, and I couldn't find anything about this paddle that would make me recommend it over some of the other excellent paddles in an elongated shape, many of which are priced lower than this Blaze Pro Tour paddle. As the saying goes, your mileage might vary, and these are only my impressions. You might love this paddle. The only way to be sure is to demo this paddle and compare it against your current paddle and other paddles you might be considering. ... show more

  • Premium Brand Intermediate Paddle
Style: Blaze Tour Color: Black/Red
I've been playing pickleball since 2010 and have gone through many types of pickleball paddles. I ordered the WILSON Blaze Series Pickleball Paddle with Grip Size of 4 1/4. The size and shape of the grip is pretty common to most of the paddles I have used. And I've played with a lightweight (7.7 oz), 16mm thick, carbon fiber in other brands of paddles and I think that is a good standard. I prefer elongated paddle faces like the Blaze and the combination gives me power and the spin without losing control...sometimes. I found this to be a more challenging paddle to play with in the sense of control. There is a more narrow sweet spot located slightly higher on the paddle than my Paddletek, Selkirk or Gamma. I do prefer the 16mm thickness over 14mm and 13mm, that I've tried. Control-oriented thickness of 16mm seems to absorb the ball's pace, reduces vibrations, and optimizes my touch dink and drop shots. On the longer side of a handle, the Blaze makes it possible for me to use my double backhand, poach and overheads more effectively. If you've been playing average 4.0 pickleball for a while, I'd say it's time to try out the Blaze by Wilson. The price point is the same as other brand name paddles and you might find that you can top spin and even give the ball a good back spin more often with this paddle face. Five stars for a premium paddle. ... show more

  • ok paddle
Style: Blaze Tour Color: Black/Red
This paddle is okay, but it didn't quite meet my expectations. While it's durable and lightweight, I found the grip to be somewhat uncomfortable during extended play. The paddle lacks the power and control I prefer for competitive games. It's decent for casual play, but there are better options available at similar prices. ... show more

  • Premium Pickleball Paddle
Style: Blaze Tour Color: Black/Red
Been playing Pickleball for a while now and upgraded to a mid-line premium Gearbox paddle some time ago. I prefer paddles that have an edgeless frame, but decided to try out this Wilson premium paddle. Our house is filled with Wilson ProStaff tennis rackets, so wondered what their Pickleball Paddle would be like. The Good: -- Like the thickness (16mm) -- Longer grip allows for double-handed backhand swing -- I am used to an elongated paddle, so switching to this paddle was straightforward; did not have to re-orient much at all -- Good power & spin -- Looks are great! Feel rather Darth Vador'ish on the court Lol!!! The not so good: -- I prefer edgeless paddles, so will not fight over using this paddle with my husband or sons much -- Is just a bit heavier than what I am used to; but then I like the power that extra small weight provides Overall, the family is SUPER impressed with this Wilson Blaze Tour paddle. Definitely deserves a spot on any Premium Top Pickleball Paddles list. ... show more
