I had some concerns about this fan before I ordered it based on some of the negative reviews for this product. But it had the features I wanted and my wife really liked the contemporary aesthetics. My fears were unwarranted. This is an outstanding fan. It took my wife and I an hour and half to install and that includes the time I took to weigh each blade bracket on our digital kitchen scale and fan blade so that I could match the lightest bracket with heaviest blade etc. I also weighed the assembled fan blades and brackets so that I could assemble bracket/blades of equal weights opposite of each other. The fan exhibits the tiniest amount of wobble on the highest speed only. We had to remove the existing light fixture to install the fan. The instructions were excellent and we had no problem installing it. As recommended on another review, I installed the remote module for the fan with about three inches of antenna extending outside of the upper housing. I have no issues at all getting my remote to work from 15 feet away. The light dims as advertised. This fan is completely quiet on low and medium low and on the higher speeds the only noise you hear is the sound of air moving and this fan moves a lot of air, 30% to 45% more than a 52 inch fan. I love that you can replace the bulbs in this fan if they burn out. So many other fans have “led light kits” which means you have to replace the whole fan to replace the light. This fan is installed in our open concept living room which flows into the dining room/ kitchen area. We are so pleased with this fan that I just ordered a second fan for our 18 x 16 foot master bedroom. ... show more

The fan looks amazing. I'm a designer; while I don't design ceiling fans, I would have been proud to design this one. It's a beautiful fan. Hats off to the designer(s). I got the brushed nickel version, and installed the lighter wood side facing down. As others mentioned, it's not the simplest installation--there are a lot of screws. But that's the paradox of design sometimes--what looks simple can be complex to build/assemble and vice versa. It is worth it in the end! The fan's body profile has these 3-4 layers like a metal biscuit, yielding a clean nickel look. By contrast, I don't like certain Hunter fans with their numerous dust-collecting protrusions. The style of this fan is--aerodynamic, streamline design--which makes sense for a ceiling fan! It's nice. I also like that individual blades are mounted asymmetrically (see photo). That was a nice surprise to me and a sophisticated design choice. I like looking up at the fan when it's turned off. (I'm including a photo straight from below, a rarely seen view in promo materials.) A major selling point for me was the fact that the LED bulbs are replaceable. LED bulbs ALWAYS have unexpectedly short lifespans. I think anyone who buys fans with integrated LEDs (non-replaceable) is crazy. They will be throwing away their fans when the lights burn out in 3-5 years. With this one I'll just install new bulbs. Speaking of bulbs, the included Westinghouse LEDs were attractive too--a custom low-form factor, although the threads are standard. I also like how the fan's glass housing screws directly into the fan via one large thread. By contrast, other fans that require a metal screw to touch into glass--that drives me crazy and makes my teeth rattle. To those having remote control problems, I wonder whether your receiver's antenna was smothered during install. It's supposed to stick out about three inches from the receiver's plastic case (but still hidden inside the outer cap). I fretted about having the same trouble other reviewers had with their remotes. Thankfully, mine worked on the first try, making me an electric hero to my family! I wish Westinghouse had given the remote a bit of heft by adding a small metal weight inside. Otherwise, the fan runs totally quietly. I herby attest that my lights dimmed when holding down the light button (although the dimming process is kind of a hassle). In summary, I'm thinking of buying two more of these for other rooms and going all-Westinghouse, allowing one for a single remote to rule them all. ... show more

    • Nice design and great air movement

These fans have very nice designs and great air movement, the air movement was the really big deal for us, we purchased another not too long ago that was difficult to install and move NO air, even on high. This model is the opposite, even on the lowest speed those big beautiful blades make a very comfortable breeze within an 8' radius below. On higher speeds that air wave really radiates and provides excellent cooling. PLUS the installation is straightforward and relatively simple compared to others I've installed. The ONLY small downside is the remote seems to hesitate at times, but a second press of the button will normally make it happen, the light feature with two LED bulbs is very nice, the dimming feature lags a bit but that was not so important to us. ... show more
