  • Powerful, silent, bright, and easier to install than I expected
I installed this Govee ceiling fan and light in the center of my living room after removing my old ceiling fan, and I’m really happy with the upgrade. The biggest surprise is how much air this thing moves. It has been around 94 degrees here in Ohio, and with the AC running, multiple family members have asked me to turn the fan down because the room felt too cold. That’s a good problem to have. For something this sleek and modern looking, I wasn’t expecting it to push air as hard as it does. The light is also way brighter than I’ll ever need it to be. I like having the full brightness available, but most of the time I’ll probably keep it dimmed down because it has plenty of output. The smart lighting features are exactly why I like buying Govee products. It turns a normal everyday home fixture into something that can change the whole feel of the room. Installation was very manageable. I had never installed a ceiling fan before this, but I have installed several ceiling light fixtures, and this was not difficult coming from that experience. The mounting kit felt sturdy, the bracket setup was solid, and the fan felt secure once installed. You do need to make sure your ceiling box is rated for a fan and that you’re comfortable working safely with electrical wiring, but the fan itself was not complicated to put together. The motor is basically silent. No annoying hum, no wobble, no cheap rattling sound. Just airflow. I also really like that it comes with both app control and a physical remote. I’m big on smart home products, but for a ceiling fan, having a real remote still matters. This is exactly why I keep buying Govee products. It looks clean, works immediately, pushes serious air, gets brighter than I need, and fits right into the rest of my Govee ecosystem. If you want a ceiling fan that feels like both a functional fan and a smart lighting upgrade, this is an easy recommendation. ... show more

  • Great new product from govee
I've had my ceiling fan before this for years but it was noisy, got dusty, and was manually controlled. I use almost a dozen govee products from light bulbs to smart plugs and was excited when I saw this so I took the leap of faith as its a new product and bought it. Safe to say - this is becoming one of my favorite govee products. By far the only hard part of this installation was removing my old fan. Took me less than 30 mins by myself to build and install the fan - you do have to connect some wires so make sure you're comfortable doing that but the instructions are great and simple and the build easy. I would recommend having 2 people for this build but I was able to easily by myself. This fan in incredibly powerful - I like having my room cold when I sleep and this is incredibly strong at the max setting while still being silent, but also comfortable and calm at the lower settings. In the winter too you can reverse the airflow which makes this super versatile. I control it using a google home, the remote control that comes w it, and the govee buttons which makes it super easy to adjust. The winning feature though are the lights, the colors are vivid and it gets insanely bright - at the highest brightness - its like the sun is in my room. The remote control is made well with all the buttons and offers great and easy control. I love the customizability within the app too - having crazy control over the top sections and bottom ... show more

  • Mostly Great With a Few Shortcomings
I installed this fan over the weekend and will cover the pros and cons below. This fan replaced a Harbor Breeze 3 speed 48inch fan. The Govee fan is installed in my living room which has an 8ft ceiling. The room is 16x16. Installation: I've installed a handful of ceiling fans over the years and this was probably the easiest install I've done. Govee made it very easy to install and it's well thought-out. I used the included 4" down rod instead of the pre-installed 6" Pros: The light is VERY, VERY, bright! Far brighter than the LED light on the fan it replaced. You can have either top light, bottom light, or both turned on. There is one brightness control that controls both lights. It has a very wide color temperature range, in fact the most I've ever seen. You can pretty much set it to any shade of white light you want. The Govee scenes are cool and work well but really don't use them. The top light has 8 addressable segments you can assign colors to. The bottom/main light has 1 addressable segment. (more on this below on Dreamview) The fan moves A LOT of air. (also a con, see below). The fan has 6 speed settings and is very powerful. I typically only run it on speed 1 or 2. It's also very, very quiet and makes next to no sound. Cons: The fan, even on the lowest speed, is higher/faster than the medium speed on the Harbor Breeze fan it replaced. It could really use a much slower speed 1. Speeds 4-6 are really unnecessary given how fast 2 and 3 are, but maybe some people would find those useful. Again, mine's only on an 8ft ceiling so those higher fan speeds may be beneficial on a very high ceiling. As we watched a movie Sat night I found myself frequently turning the fan off/on which is something I'd never do with the Harbor Breeze fan. Movie Dreamview: I have the fan synced with my AI Sync Box V2. Yes you can add/sync the fan lights to movie-watching Dreamview. However, despite the top light having 8 addressable segments (if you want to make your own light colors as stated above) the fan light only shows as a single addressable device in Dreamview (see my picture). I was very surprised when adding the fan that the left/right sides of at least the top light were not addressable given there are 8 addressable segments outside of Dreamview. Being there is no center assignable value in Dreamview, you are then forced to use either a right or left value. You can see in my screenshot I've assigned value 13 from the top-right. In doing so, the fan light then only follows what is on the top right side of the TV screen. It would be great if you could at LEAST assign a value of 12 to the left side of the light and a value of 13 to the right side. Again, referencing my attached pic, you pretty much have a choice of 12, 13, 2, or 3. You can choose to have either top light, main light, or both on during movie Dreamview. I only use the top light as the main light is just too much and makes it too bright during movies. Again, my ceiling is only 8ft so results may very if you have a higher ceiling. You might prefer that main light on. If you do use both lights, I noticed they don't always match in Dreamview. Depending on the color, with some colors, both lights will match, some other colors do not. Not sure if it's because the bottom/main light is RGBWW while the top one is RGBICWW. The top light always seems to better match what the AI Sync Box LEDSs show. Alexa Integration: The device 'fully' integrates into Alexa but with surprisingly limited verbal commands. So, if you setup Alexa Routines you can do things like turning the fan on/off, setting it to a specific speed, turning either light on/off, setting the colors/scenes. However, if you verbally say "Turn on/off the Govee Fan" only the lights turn on/off. While you can verbally set the fan speed, you cannot verbally turn the fan on/off. I have a Bond Bridge from years ago that I use to make my other non-smart ceiling fans 'smart.' Being the remote control for the Govee fan uses RF, I was able to add it to the Bond Bridge. That served as good workaround to the aforementioned limitations as I can now verbally turn the fan on/off, albeit through the Bond Alexa integration. The Remote Control: It's fine, nothing much to say. It's an RF remote. Would have been nice had they included a holder for it. Price/Value: I think the fan is fairly priced considering everything it does and how it performs. It's competitively priced with similar sized fans that do far less than this does. Conclusion: Overall I'm actually very happy with the fan. However I probably wouldn't have bought it had I known about the Dreamview limitation. I've contacted Govee support with feature requests regarding the above issues with how fast the lowest fan speed is, and lack of better Dreamview integration. All that said, it still looks awesome in Dreamview and creates a cool looking glow on the ceiling. As for both lights not exactly matching during Dreamview, I recommend not spending too much time watching your fan lights instead of your movie. Again, non-issue for me as I just don't use the bottom/main light during Dreamview. ... show more

  • 99.9% satisfaction rated!
Ok! I've installed several different fans, and this one is, by far, the easiest. Setup was simple, install was simple. The DIY nerd in me really appreciates the lock-groove in the ball joint that prevents twisting and other unnecessary movement in the fan. I like that Govee provides screws with lock washers for the fan blades, that you screw them directly into metal pre-drilled holes, and there is no additional gasket or plate or liner that you have to hold in place while installing the blades. I love that Govee provides lever-action wire couplers for connecting the fan wires to the Romex coming out of the ceiling! Those are so much easier to use and more secure than wire nuts, especially when the Romex is solid-core and the fan wiring is stranded. I love that there was no guesswork with the remote, and that it worked upon install rather than other fans that require a receiver squeezed into the junction box in the ceiling and extra wires to drive you insane while trying to force all of it into the junction box while not getting any in the way of anything else you're trying to do, like setting the freakin fan in place. I even appreciated the clear English instructions! That was a delight! And for those who complained that the lowest setting on the fan was still too fast, get over yourselves! The lowest airflow setting is really not that bad at all. The lights get really dim, the colors are great, the uplight is perfect for having just the right amount of light to have an idea of what you're doing (i.e., eating dinner) while not being obtrusive for the TV viewing experience. Now, they need to have multiple colors of housing and fan blades. I will say I was pleasantly surprised to find the blades were reversible. However, dark wood grain or black isn't really the best of the reversible options. Jussayin. I'm thinkin that is really the only thing I can think of that I don't care for. Luckily, we haven't repainted our house interior yet, and dark brown still goes with most of our atmosphere. Ugh! ... show more

  • Bright powerful and elegant
We ordered this govee ceiling fan for our bedroom after our last fan gave up the will to live and I must say I am so glad we did. The fan has a larger wing span and is extremely powerful which is a must in my room. The lights are extremely bright but can be adjusted either with the remote or through Alexa which makes it very easy to use you can also change the color of them by saying " alexa turn bedroom lights to purple" after setting it up through the govee app. The remote also controls the fan speed. The installation was really easy only took my husband about 45 minutes to install start to finish. the blades also are 2 tone so you can decide on wither a black finish or a wood finish. We chose black to match our room decor. I must say I do love govee and this fan is no exception! ... show more

  • Best fan ever.
BUY THIS BUY THIS BUY THIS NOW!! If you are in the market for a new fan, and you are already deep into the Govee Home ecosystem....you NEED this fan. Not kinda. You need it. Lookswise: Sleek, modern, you can make the blades brown OR black depending on how you orient them. It's Govee, so you know lights are a major part of this set up. You can have the bottom light on, the top light on, or both, none on. So versatile. Not only that, but you can it to whatever light pattern you want (the AI is ridiculous...I typed in "Give me a red, white and blue motif that looks like the American flag waving...and the AI gave me just that. Chef's kiss). The fan pushes major cool air, as it is a 52 inch blade setup. It is NOISELESS. I hear nothing as this fans cranks out at top speed. The install was SUPER EASY. Man. I've changed out a bunch of my fans in my house over the last 17 years, and this was the easiest install I've ever done. The instructions are clear and straightforward. Is it a bit prciey? Yes. HOWEVER...i think you are getting every cent of that price in the performance of this fan. Nobody paid me to say any of these things...that's just how good this darn thing is. Get it now! ... show more

Setting it up with the app was seamless, and the lighting customization is next-level.
