I wonder if, when cars appeared on the market, if horses became inexpensive? As a new technology like solid state storage becomes more mainstream, really good mechanical drives become dirt cheap. I can't believe I could by a 4TB drive for well under $60. But here it is, a name-brand 4TB drive that works great and has lots of storage. My first Winchester disk drive was $1100 and had 30MB ($36/MB). This is 4TB for $55 (or $0.000014/MB). If you need storage, it would be difficult to find a better deal. This unit arrived exactly as advertised and installed easily. I had to partition the drive and format it, but after that, I am rocking some major backup storage. This is so nice, I will buy 3 more drives and put them into a RAID configuration so that I have backups for all my drives. At this price, it seems foolish not to. Note that this is an OEM drive, so that is all you get. No manuals, no cables. But the packaging seems solid so there was no damage during shipping. The 7200 RPM isn't going to set any data transfer records compared to solid state, but hey considering that they are about 7X more expensive per MB than this drive, who cares how fast it is? Especially if you use them as file storage or backup like I am. Overall Grade = A+

I had to revise my comment because the drives started clicking and clunking and froze of up computer.. they worked on reboot but same noise and after downloading a drive info program I learned that these drives had been running for over 6 years for one 53,855 hrs, non stop, and 7 years for the other . 65,482 hrs that is ridiculous, I recently purchased a different drive and checked the log on those and they only had 32000 still alot but not as bad as the others.. so check your HDDS hours being powered on when you receive them, I used a free program called CrystalDiskInfo. My suggestion is just buy a new HDD because they dont take the drive apart to refurbish it .. from what i read they only run tests and do an inspection and if it passes the inspection they ship it out if it fails they replace worn parts, they do have a warranty on these drives but I read in another comment that the warranty is only from the original OEM date shipped which means if had waited for my drives to fail to get the warranty it would have been expired already. also another user commented when they tried to get the warranty it said this is warranty is not valid in the USA so good luck sending this thing back to Thailand you would pay more for Shipping than the drive itself.
