I've been using WD hard drives as long as I've been playing with computers, we're talking about the late 1980s. I've installed dozens of them in new builds, upgrades and repairs. This is the first time I've tried one of their SSDs. This SSD replaced a WD Blue hard disk and the machine now boots up in seconds rather than minutes. While it's not exactly a ball of fire, it's fine for everyday computing. This one doesn't cost a whole lot more than the Brand X Chinese products, but it's from a company you've actually heard of and they do honor their warranty if there's a problem. ... show more

Fast and easy to install. I cloned my old toshiba hard-drive with all the software and operating system and it woke up the laptop 100 fold. Totally different than with the old 7200rpm hard-drive. This SSD is literally 100x faster than the old disk drive. Love it. A++++++++++++++++

I've been using this as my boot drive for the better part of 8 months, and it works exactly how you'd expect a cheaper ssd to work. Way faster than hard drive, but not as fast as a blazing 970evo. WD is reliable even on the cheaper end in my experience-- that being said, i wouldn't put super crucial information on here, and backup your files to a ext drive or other drive consistently. My Toshiba laptop seemed really, really, really slow and I figured it was due to the 5400 RPM hard drive it came with. I ordered this, got it in a day, and now it's the drive that the laptop uses. I went from waiting a literal minute for Chrome to start, to it starting in a matter of seconds. It changed the character of the laptop from "replace next Black Friday to keep for years.
