I bought two. In and out of pool. Went together easy. Instructions were good. Filling with sand....EEEEK. Very tedious task. The hole is not the biggest. Used funnel. Sand sticks and clogs took long time to fill the lower section. Decided to skip the top. After reading reviews I went out and gotsome sand bags. However, I put stairs into pool and held it down while it filled with water. It sunk and sat nicely on bottom. I pushed both backs up against the pool. Did not use the wedge thingies at the top. Used Two long bungie cords and connected both units to the pool poles. Used short bungies and connected both rails. Very sturdy. Perfect so far. Very happy. I may still use sand bags but at this point dont think i will need them. ... show more

    • Pool steps are steep
These steps are ok, but the rails feel like they could break easily and because the steps are so high it makes it difficult for the kids and the elderly to climb them without holding onto the rails. . I would have preferred a wider step and one with more steps that were less steep. Of course we did not see these problems until after it was assembled. The assembly was not easy either. Amazon had others to look at , just check the measurements if it’s important to you. ... show more

I normally try to order items that I can assemble myself without having to involve my husband (he has enough projects). I watched the video before purchasing, read the reviews and bought the item. It was reasonable and looked easy to assemble without tools. However, upon assembly it was clear that it would not be feasible without a rubber mallet. Once I got that, everything went together relatively easily. However, the stair risers will NOT go down enough to fit into the stair tread grooves except on the bottom tread (See photo 2). As you can see in the other photos, there is a gap. Even putting my full weight on the stairs will not get that part to fit snugly, but maybe over time with use it will. The biggest problem is the stair rails. For my life, I cannot get them to snap into place, so the jury is still out on how that will work. If I can get them snapped, then I can screw the covering piece down to make them snug. I will not be filling with sand, however, as I will rely on water to fill and will take the suggestion of another reviewer and use weights. I don't want to risk getting sand in the pool. ... show more

Excellent quality. Rails a bit wobbly, but that is to be expected. Easy to put together. I filled with 30 lbs of sand. That was a bit tedious but to be expected. Doesn’t float around. Would but again

Very sturdy but the option to fill the steps with sand is not an option for the one I received. There are no plugs so the sand would end up in the pool. It doesn't come with a rubber mallet so be sure have one on hand before you start. The other thing is you will need some actual pool sand bags to weigh down the middle of each side or it will float away. The sad part is going to look like rubber duckeis when you cut it open. ... show more

Don't buy unless you have something solid to anchor them to. If in the water buy 2 50 pound sand bags to help keep them in place. Also drill larger diameter holes in the plastic to let the water in

I have been wanting to get steps for my above ground pool for a few years now and never purchased because of cost and bad reviews. This year, as I am aging, I decided I really needed to bite the bullet and just get the steps. I read many reviews and took some of the reviewers suggestions and I LOVE THEM. My steps work wonderfully but it did take a little extra work and I was able to assemble and place the steps in the pool all by myself. A few of the problems I read from reviewers was, the steps liked to float around, it was difficult to put sand in the steps inside the pool without getting sand everywhere inside the pool and/or to heavy to place in a pool if you add the sand beforehand. I listened to other reviewers and drilled a few holes in the hand rails (making sure the holes would be under the water) and a few extra holes in the steps. I then placed the steps in the pool and let the holes fill with water, placed the steps where I wanted them, screwed them into the deck then zip tied gallon jugs of water to the first step and I have had NO issues at all with them moving around. These steps were easy enough to assemble. It only took me about 30 minutes from start to finish. Well constructed as I am a big and tall girl and they hold my weight. I have been using them for over a month now and absolutely love them. I wish I would have bought them years ago. ... show more
