  • They don’t float up or need any weights other than sand in the sides. They don’t float up or need any weights other than sand in the sides.
Color: Warm Grey/Blue Treads Size: Drop In Step
Loving these steps, width of the steps is perfect. The feet were a little hard to get on, but after I figured out to tilt them a little it worked. The weighted sides do hold more than 20 pds of sand, but they absolutely don’t float! Nicer than the ones that came with our pool, they didn’t last 2 years. Time will tell, my grandkids will put them to the test but very happy with the price and quality. Assembly was very easy! ... show more

  • Great steps
Color: Warm Grey/Grey Treads Size: Drop In Step
Good quality. Very sturdy. Perfect fit. One thing I don’t understand is folks saying how hard the assembly was. Total assembly time was 30 minutes. Putting sand in the side panels took a little longer but just help it along with water and it was a breeze. Added a couple 25lb pool stair sand bags to the sides and the steps are settled in just fine. ... show more

  • 4.75 stars! Great product!
Color: Warm Grey/Grey Treads Size: Drop In Step
Product was well designed and easy to put together (my 15 year old put it together). Instructions were well written and easy to follow. There are 4 pads that act as feet to keep from scratching the liner in the bottom - these were a little tricky to install. I even attached (4) 6"x6"x½" pads (cut from an old yoga mat) with industrial Velcro tape to give it a softer cushion on the liner (I've repaired several holes in my longer and know how easy they are to cut). I used more sand than the instructions called for simply because our old steps had a tendency to move... But you would probably be safe following the directions. Play sand works well just make sure it's dry so it will flow easily. I used a medium sized funnel with no issues as the holes were large enough for a good sized funnel. However, the caps seemed a little inadequate but once the steps are installed, they stay in place fine. The instructions were a little unclear on whether the steps were actually screwed down with the supplied stainless steel screws (good quality screws). I ended up only screwing the top step at the 4 apparent locations. Each step had 4 indentations that appeared to be for screw points but with the quality and fit of the interlocking pieces, I did not see any benefit nor extra strength in doing so. I built our deck to be even with the highest point of the pool sides, so attaching the steps to the deck was simple. If your pool sides are higher than your deck, you will need to add a block or step (even with or slightly above the pool sides) to attach the two arms. These are also attached with the supplied stainless steel screws. I used 4 or 5 in each arm to fasten to the desk floor. After a couple months of use, I'm extremely pleased with their performance, look, and durability. ... show more

  • Sturdy ladder, but have patience Sturdy ladder, but have patience
Color: Warm Grey/Grey Treads Size: Drop In Step
Really nice and sturdy steps. Putting the feet pads on this was atrocious! I gave up many, many times and walked away. Put soap on pegs and hammered feet with rubber mallet. Finally, got them on. Also, I would suggest filter sand or very, very dry sand. I bought play sand to put in the base. A tedious chore. But, after completing the sand and foot pad installation, it was worth it. I contacted the help number that is on the instructions. A very nice gentleman talked me through my issue. Excellent customer service!also bought the heavy duty pool ladder weights. We put a 35 lb weight in each instead of using sand. We also used bungees to keep ladder stable next to side wall. Very sturdy. ... show more

  • Safe, solid and secure wide stairs. Perfect! Safe, solid and secure wide stairs. Perfect!
Color: Warm Grey/Blue Treads Size: Drop In Step
I was nervous when I read reviews that said that even with sand in the frame the ladder still floated up, and was too heavy to lift out of the pool in the off-season. I read other reviews that talked about filling a bucket with sand and attaching it to the ladder, which would make it easier to lift out when closing the pool. Taking those reviews into consideration, I went ahead and purchased these stairs. I wanted wider stairs than the ladder that came with my 52" metal framed pool. The original ladder was not stable enough for me to feel secure. I also wanted something wider so it would be easier (and safer!) to get my grandchildren /babies in and out of the pool. And, as I'm getting older, I wanted something that was easier on my knees. Putting the stairs together was pretty easy. The box was a bit heavy for just me to move around. I ended up unpacking it in the back of my truck, and moving it piece by piece to the pool area. Definitely need to use a rubber mallet to get some of the pieces to lock in place. Instructions were easy to follow. Getting it into the pool was a trick to do by myself, but since I was going for something sturdy and safe, couldn't complain about the weight! These stairs are absolutely amazing. They are about 3 times wider than the original ladder (check out the pictures with yellow level for scale), and the handles provide safe access, even carrying a child. I decided to fill the frame with water instead of sand, so I just put the stairs in the pool, and laid on the stairs like a pool float. I moved it to different positions until the bubbles quit, until I felt I had filled it as much as possible. There was very, very minimal floating of the stairs after this, and I hadn't even attached it to the deck at this point. I did decide to put a bucket of sand under the stairs, attached with a bungee for now, just to take out that small amount of float. I was worried about it bouncing up and down when I took the first step in, and didn't want to rip my liner. I am so happy I bought these stairs, and although I didn't get much use out of them before closing the pool, I enjoyed every safe moment of easy entry into my pool. I have not removed it for the winter (Texas) and don't know if I'd ever get the water out so I could lift it out anyway. I plan to keep cleaning and filtering over the winter to avoid any possible algae buildup that I read about. Will see how that plays out this winter. ... show more

  • Solid Wide Pool Stairs Solid Wide Pool Stairs
Color: Warm Grey/Grey Treads Size: Drop In Step
I needed new stairs for my 52" new above ground pool. These are solid, wide and relatively easy to assemble. They were well packaged and arrived in good condition. All the parts and instructions were included. Assembly was literally a snap. All the pieces snapped together as I just followed the instructions step by step. The reviews noted many different ways to weigh down the stairs. I decided to just follow the instructions and used gravel instead of sand. Since I am older and it's only me, I needed them not to be too heavy so that I may easily put them in and take them out with the changing of the seasons. I used 20 pounds of pea gravel. I first cleaned the stones well and poured 10 pounds into each side. I then lowered the stairs slowly into the pool. I leaned them to the right and allowed the water to fill up the stairs, I leaned them to the left and let them fill, to the right and to the left until the stairs just settled on the bottom. It took a good 10-15 minutes. As you can see from my photos, the stairs sit on the bottom of the pool without being anchored to the deck. I then screwed the stair attachment arms to a couple of pieces of 2x4s that are screwed to a 2x10 piece of wood as a base. I then strapped the base to my deck. I did not want to screw the stair base to the composite decking because screw holes would damage the decking over time. The winch straps are really strong and keep the stairs in place when tightened correctly. I love the extra width of these stairs. The hand railings are fairly sturdy and do well getting me in and out of the pool. I installed them in June 2022 and am writing this review 2 months later. I have had a couple of pool parties with kids, adults over 300#s and everyone in between. The stairs are still as perfect as the day I installed them. These are great quality pool stairs for the price. I highly recommend them. ... show more

  • So happy I chose these. Sturdy! So happy I chose these. Sturdy!
Color: Warm Grey/Grey Treads Size: Drop In Step
These are definitely sturdy. I had to stand on them to get more power for hand rails. Use the liquid soap!!!! I didn’t want to fill with sand or water bc it’s just me. I didn’t want PVC pipe filled with cement either. So, I bought 1 1/2 in x 5ft. I put a cap on one end and measured 22 inches. Courtesy of previous owner there were busted up cement blocks. I used that to fill them up and capped them. See pictures for attachment. ... show more
