1 billion x better than the ladder my 12x24 Intex pool came with. I’m 53 female and it took me 6 hours to put together. It was not easy but I’m not the best craftsman. I used pea gravel and my 30 yo son helped me to hoist it over and into the pool, was not that heavy even with filling with about 30 lbs of pea gravel. You can’t use anything larger than pea gravel or it will get stuck. I didn’t use the door as I don’t have small kids to worry about. I’m getting a mat delivered today that lays under the steps inside the pool, just to keep the vinyl safe. The steps do give a little when you stand on them and the railings do wiggle a bit when you are pulling yourself out of the pool. But overall, this is what I needed to help keep my elderly parents safe when using the pool. The ledge is nice too for my little and nephews to sit on. I really love them! Instructions are a bit hard to understand but my husband got this put together with little-no problems at all. It’s sturdy and toddler proof. I’m pleasantly surprised with the quality for 1/3 of the cost of the more expensive brands. It’s a HUGE upgrade from the rickety ladder the pool came with. We have a 52” tall, 32x16 bestway soft sided pool and this fits great. We put it in a corner because the pool legs are on wood planks so it didn’t fit in between them. Putting it together took my husband and I over 4 hours because the instructions were not easy to follow. It came super fast and they even sent us a wrong part. Customer service was amazing and got us a replacement super quickly. The lock is great for my autistic son. Stairs are still not super sturdy but way better then the ladder we had. Would recommend a part to keep the door open while you are in the pool. It's hard to get out with the gate closing on you. Also the slots in the gate have been closed so children can't climb them like one did in the news. We very much appreciate the upgrade! ... show more

Cheap. If you are buying this because you want a safer ladder then I would look elsewhere. All plastic, plastic tabs bolted to other plastic tabs. Railings are wobbly and wouldn’t support anyone that takes a misstep. Its really bad when you are standing at the top of it.

This ladder is perfect for my above ground pool. It's so much sturdier than the ladder that came with the pool. I got it because I'm 72 & had to have total hip replacement after a fall & was afraid to use the ladder that came with my above ground pool. This ladder is much sturdier & more stable. I absolutely love this pool ladder! Putting it together was interesting but doable. Took a few hours... I have grandkids so the locking gate was absolutely a must! I also have two medium size dogs who were able to maneuver on the ladder to get into the pool by themselves. Score!!
