Putting it together took my husband and I over 4 hours because the instructions were not easy to follow. It came super fast and they even sent us a wrong part. Customer service was amazing and got us a replacement super quickly. The lock is great for my autistic son. Stairs are still not super sturdy but way better then the ladder we had. Would recommend a part to keep the door open while you are in the pool. It's hard to get out with the gate closing on you. Also the slots in the gate have been closed so children can't climb them like one did in the news. We very much appreciate the upgrade! ... show more

I really needed the Vinyl Works 24-inch Double Pool Step Ladder with Gate for both my aging mother and my brother, who has Parkinson’s. I was very disappointed when it arrived missing a part. Although Amazon issued a return label for a full refund, I also contacted the seller through Amazon, and they immediately offered to help resolve the issue. A customer service representative from Four Seasons Pool Supply on Amazon, named Adra, was extremely helpful in identifying the missing part and arranging for it to be shipped to me right away.     • Be semi weary of the stairs.

It's great The stairs are kinda steep. The arm rails at the top are very wobbly I have feet that have had surgery, so it's scary for me at the top. All in all I think the stairs are good, built a little cheaply. Just maybe not for me. Not worth the $600+

7 days after ordering: The $496.00 ladder arrived... without any metal hardware. I contacted the seller; they answered 5 days later. The wanted to pick up the first ladder and then send me another ladder. They said they did not have hardware to send me. I did not want to wait for that to happen considering their history so far. I really wanted to just use my pool. I purchased the missing metal hardware (nuts, bolts, latches, etc.) and assembled the ladder. I asked for reimbursement for the hardware that I purchased but have not heard back from the seller, yet. NOW that it assembled would I buy it again?? No, probably not. When you spend $500 for a pool ladder you expect to receive all of the parts and a quality product. It doesn't not have "enhanced stability" as they claim. It is pretty wobbly for anyone over about 60 lbs to use. The directions for assembly were pretty vague making it difficult to assemble. Very disappointed. ... show more

Instructions are a bit hard to understand but my husband got this put together with little-no problems at all. It’s sturdy and toddler proof. I’m pleasantly surprised with the quality for 1/3 of the cost of the more expensive brands. It’s a HUGE upgrade from the rickety ladder the pool came with. We have a 52” tall, 32x16 bestway soft sided pool and this fits great. We put it in a corner because the pool legs are on wood planks so it didn’t fit in between them. No complaints at all about these stairs. I’ll update the review if anything changes. ... show more

1 billion x better than the ladder my 12x24 Intex pool came with. I’m 53 female and it took me 6 hours to put together. It was not easy but I’m not the best craftsman. I used pea gravel and my 30 yo son helped me to hoist it over and into the pool, was not that heavy even with filling with about 30 lbs of pea gravel. You can’t use anything larger than pea gravel or it will get stuck. I didn’t use the door as I don’t have small kids to worry about. I’m getting a mat delivered today that lays under the steps inside the pool, just to keep the vinyl safe. The steps do give a little when you stand on them and the railings do wiggle a bit when you are pulling yourself out of the pool. But overall, this is what I needed to help keep my elderly parents safe when using the pool. The ledge is nice too for my little and nephews to sit on. I really love them! WAY BETTER THAN THE LADDER THE POOLS COME WITH!!! ... show more

    • "Vinyl Works Pool Steps: The Epic Saga of Strength, Swearing, and Swedish Ingenuity"

I debated whether to even write this review or just hide under my pool cover forever, but here we go. These pool steps are basically a test of human engineering, Hulk strength, or Swedish patience (think Ikea furniture, but with more swear words). Honestly, assembling them felt like I needed an engineering degree, a black belt in patience, or a miracle. Eventually, after summoning all my strength, cursing like a sailor, and pulling out every YouTube tutorial I could find, I somehow got them together. The result? They look stable—at least until the first wave of my toddler or a rogue rubber duck tests them out. Forget the instructions that come in the box—they're basically a Rorschach test. If you value your sanity, find a YouTube video instead. You’ll definitely need all the strength, patience, and possibly a prayer or two. But hey, they do the job—just don’t expect an Ikea-level assembly experience without a few gray hairs! Everything is the height they are supposed to be, they are stable and the width well it's adequate enough ! ... show more
